Hello everyone and welcome to a new walkthrough, brought to you by your host Laian. So for starters, I'll be honest with you. I didn't want to make a short walkthrough this month but, because of a problem I've encountered with the Philips CD-I emulator, I had to do a short one (or something that is not longer than the one I originally planned). So, here we are with a NES game called "Journey to Silius". It's really short (five levels) so I apologize for this. Next month, I'll make sure it's going to be a long walkthrough. So let's get into it, shall we?


STAGE 1
The first level takes place outside in this post-apocalyptic world. Shots come from the background and will explode as you move forward so watch out for these projectiles. You start with two weapons: the handgun and the shotgun. The handgun has unlimited shots and doesn't consume your power bar beneath your health bar. It's one shot that goes straight forward and has a good rate of fire. The shotgun shoots three shots, two diagonally and one straight forward. Each shot consumes some power points. That being said, let's start this level. Move forward, destroy the robots and face the first turret. Turn back, shoot the robot and the turret. Avoid the shot, leap over the hole and carry on. Destroy the land mine, let the robot fall into the hole (must be a depressed one), destroy the turret, duck and shoot the cannon. Move forward a bit, turn back and shoot the robot. You'll see a bit farther two land mines. This is a tough part if you want to land between the two mines. Carry on, destroy the cannon then the turret and land between the two land mines a bit further. Carry on and prepare to face the mini-boss. Your opponent attacks twice. The first time, he stands up and shoots once. The second time, he ducks and shoot twice. You can jump over the first shot then duck to avoid the next one and strike back. Another cheap technique is coming closer to him, equip the shotgun, crouch and spam your shots until he dies. You might have to sacrifice a bit of health so use this technique if you have at least four health points, since each shot from him you take deals two points of damages. Grab the machine gun (1) and be prepared for the boss fight. The first round is just a warm-up. That helicopter will throw three mini-robots at you, one at the time. They like to bounce everywhere and shoot from time to time a projectile that you can avoid easily by jumping. Kill them one by one and face the helicopter. The weak point is that little orb above the two cannons. It's the cockpit, yeah. You have to shoot the cockpit. If you remember the shots of the mini-boss, his shots are exactly the same so it shouldn't be a problem. After a few hit, the boss will be defeated and you'll be fully healed for the next level.


STAGE 2
Move forward, kill the robots (these are slow so you can kill them easily) then destroy the rotating robot and go down. Destroy the turrets, keep moving forward, kill your friend the mini-boss from the first level and step on the elevator. Destroy the turrets, carry on and get on the elevator. This is the last line to the mini-boss and the boss of this level. Kill the robots, land between the two turrets and kill both of them, then the robot and face the mini-boss. He only walks towards you. Yeah, no other attack. His weak point is the head. Jump and shoot before he does catch you and collect the homing missile, your new toy (2). The boss of this level is a robotank (half robot, half tank, get it? No? Ok, fine). He moves back and forth, shoot some balls in the air and can throw the grapple beam. Don't be scared by this, it goes straight forward and has a short range. If you keep your distances, jump and shoot the dot on his belly, you should get rid of him after a few hits. The homing missile might come in handy if you have enough power to use it. You'll be fully healed after the fight, as always.



STAGE 3
Fight the first enemies, avoid the spiked balls, make the gap and go to the elevator. Keep moving forward. Avoid the laser beams, get on the elevator to go down and shoot the robots. Fall down, keep moving forward, go on the elevator and carry on. Destroy the robots go up, destroy more robots and avoid the laser beams. The mini-boss awaits you. Your enemy will shoot a few shots then walks towards you. Equip the homing missile and shoot a few missiles while jumping. Grab the laser gun (3) and face the boss. It's a giant machine with a dot in the centre of it. He shoots laser beams diagonally and shots from the cannons.  Use the laser gun or the homing missile if you still have enough power and aim for the dot in the centre of the machine to destroy it. You'll be fully healed, as always.


STAGE 4
Kill the first enemies, go down, avoid the crushers, kill more robots and go down once again, kill the robots, fall down, avoid the falling blocks, kill the robots and carry on. Go down, then move forward.  Get into the red corridor, kill the last robots and face the mini-boss. He moves towards you and will shoot some projectiles. Use the homing missile to shoot his head, his weak point. It's not over, you have to get rid of the head. Re-equip the handgun and shoot the head until he dies. Collect the last weapon of the game: the grenade launcher (4). Time to face the boss of this level. He is not that hard actually. He only shoots a shockwave then shows an orb. That orb is his weak point. Just jump to avoid the shockwave and shoot the orb when you're in mid air. Also, you're on a platform so try not to fall into the abyss behind you. You'll be fully healed at the end of the fight. Time to proceed to the last stage.



FINAL STAGE
Compared to the previous stages, this one scrolls horizontally. Leap over the gap, avoid the falling lava, then cross the conveyor belts (watch out for the boxes) and the crushers. Avoid the last obstacles and prepare to face the final boss: a spaceship! No, I'm kidding. Although it looks like a spaceship. You need to hit the cockpits next to the rotating green orb. Yes, I said "cockpits" because there are two to get rid of: the one right in front of you and another one in the back of the spaceship. You'll have to avoid the shots coming from the green orbs and the steam. The first cockpit you need to take care of is the one behind. Use the grenade launcher to blast it and take care of the last one. It's not over though, there's a round 2. You're on a spaceship, facing a tall terminator. To be honest, he is not that hard. He walks toward you then ducks and punches you right in your face. While he's coming at you, jump and shoot. Then leap over him and walk away. Repeat the same technique until he dies. Watch the cutscene. Congratulations, you beat "Journey to SIlius".
