For the past 7 years I have struggled through many different hardships while attending college that prevented me from getting good grades and graduating when I was supposed to. In these 7 years I have taken a total of 2 years off, and I had to retake a lot of classes because I did so poorly in the first two years of my college endeavor. Even with all of the struggles I never gave up, and with each semester my GPA progressively got better. I have been to 3 different colleges, 1 University and 2 Community Colleges, and there is a different GPA for each one. University: 1.68, Community College 1: 2.7, and Community College 2: 3.4. My cumulative GPA is at a 2.6. That may not sound very good, but considering all I have been through I am ecstatic that I have been able to bring it up that much from a 1.6. I finally have something to show for not giving up on getting an education and it feels absolutely amazing. Even better is that I was accepted into another University so I can finish what I started. Unfortunately I have chosen to double major in fields that require at least a Master's degree (Criminology and Psychology) to get a decent job. That being said, I am still not giving up.  These majors are incredibly interesting to me, so I am excited to go on my next adventure to learn more about something that I really enjoy.

It's never too late to get an education. It doesn't matter how long it takes to get the degree, what matters is what you do with the degree once you have it.

wolf742 : Congratulations wolf742 ! I am currently going to college for an Associate in ABUS-SR or Associate in Business Special Requirements. This degree is special to certain type of job and I am doing it for Computer Information Systems, such as working with computers.

As for my cumulative GPA (at first I put GPS lol), my cumulative GPA so far is a 3.17. Not the best as it was last year, but I still have one semester to go through with my Associate's Degree. My final semester with my Associate's Degree in Computer Information Systems is this upcoming Fall Semester, so about four to five more classes to go until I finish my Associate's Degree. So soon I will be in the same boat as you with finishing my Associate's Degree and moving on to bigger and better things.

But so far I have only been to one community college my whole college career, so it has been pretty okay with GPA being in a certain way with the college than having multiple colleges and different college calculations of cumulative GPA or regular semester GPA.

Oh, and by the way, did you have a college celebration or graduation ceremony? How was you graduation ceremony from the college? Was it like high school graduation ceremonies or was it different?

You are an inspiration wolf742. Congratulations on finally earning your associates degree! I wish the best for you and I hope you get to achieve your goals.

I can relate to graduating late. I didn't go to college directly after I finished high school. I had to work for 2 years so I could afford to pay for my college tuition. Most of the people I went to high school with have already graduated college. I'm in my final year in college now and I'm hoping to graduate soon.

Congratulations wolf! Where's the party at? haha

I think it is great that you were able to tough it out and get your degree while improving your GPA I was in a similar situation as well. I hope that continues when you move on to your 2 majors, just got to hang in there. You being to several different colleges gives you something that most other graduates don't have, which sets you apart from the others.

Kind of along the lines what happiness7 said, are you planning any celebration for graduating? Sounds like you deserve it.

It's cool that you tried very hard to get this far despite the circumstances, and I'm hoping and praying that you'll reach your goals. I know you can do it! Congrats on your Associates Degree!

That's amazing, you should be really proud of yourself, especially since you worked so hard towards getting it. I'm still working on mine and have had a few problems and did actually quit, but you kept on going. Way to gom

Congrats. I never went to college because i couldn't afford it.
I saw you said you were going for your Master's, but what do you currently have your AD in?

Thank you every one for the congratulatory wishes. I apologize for just now responding. I've had a lot of stuff to do with transferring into a University for the fall. While not doing that I've been working on Borderlands 2 with my girlfriend and looking for a job. College isn't cheap and I'm trying to avoid loans as much as possible. Now that you know about what I've been up to since getting my degree, I think it's best that I answer everyone's questions.

thing1 : My degree is called an Associates in Arts, but I am going to be double majoring in Criminal Justice and Psychology. Both fields fascinate me, and they go well together.

happiness7 : Well with each transfer of college your GPA doesn't go with it. You start from a clean slate and then whatever your GPA's are from each college with will be averaged and that will be your Overall GPA. As for having a ceremony at the Community College I graduated from, I decided not to go because my cousin was graduating from Boot Camp as a Marine. I was not missing that for anything. The GPS misspelling was pretty funny by the way.

Ultimatone : I had a couple of celebration dinners with different parts of my family, which was a lot more fun than it may sound.

Again, I want to thank everyone for the kind words and encouragement to continue.
