This. This crap right here is why I don't like playing Madden sometimes. Just take a look at how I explained it to Gameboy1023 while in chat just now. 

So, I got the ball back after giving up a touchdown, and going down 10-8. ( had about 43 seconds on the game clock at this point, I think ) 
I had a few plays where I caught the ball and went out of bounds. ( this would have just put me into field goal range, I think ) 
Well, about 28 or so seconds left, I throw a ball about 35 yards down field right on the sideline. I caught it. 
However, the officials decided to do a review since it was so close. 
It was confirmed that I caught it. 
Well, then I get to pick a play. About 25 seconds on the clock. But, because I caught the ball in bounds, they kept the clock going when I caught the ball. 
So, the clock got ran down to 5 seconds because the play clock gets run down to 20 seconds. I didn't have any timeouts. 
And it's messed up because when I caught the ball, I spammed the button for everybody to get to the line so I could spike the ball and have a shot  at the field goal to win the game. 

Really? Come on refs. You stop the clock to review the play. You shouldn't run the play clock down to 20 and do the same with the game clock if you are going to stop the game to review the play at such a crucial moment. And then the fact that both of my feet were in bounds, but I fell out of bounds mystifies me as to why the clocked wasn't stopped in the first place.

Did you have the clock run down option on?

Because in the last Madden game I played, it's on by default.

Turning it off gets rid of that issue.

legacyme3 : Yeah, I have it set in MUT to where it runs down to 20 seconds. But my problem is the refs stopped the game, I spammed the hurry up button to spike the ball, and I fell out of bounds ( my butt hit the ground ) after getting both feet in bounds, yet the clock got ran down anyways. 

That's what pisses me off about this. Especially the fact that I was spamming the spike ball button before the refs decided to review the play. At the very least, don't start the game clock until I snap the ball. Sheesh. I should have had a chance to win the game, Now, I feel like I got screwed over. 

s*** happens I guess, that's the type of thing that I could believe happened in the NFL, so I mean, their realism is pretty spot on.

That's why you keep accelerated clock off. Having it on causes nothing but trouble 99% of the time.

legacyme3 : I ended up winning on the 3rd try 14-7. I gave up a 80 yard or so pass with 1:47 or something like that left while I was up 14 - 0. With the Steelers, just play  man coverage, and send the blitz after them. That easy. 

XD Yeah, that's one of the reasons I'll never play Madden again. I've been playing NCAA Football since 2003 and I love each and every game it has offered. Every once in a blue moon, I'll come across a Madden game to play and I won't understand why some of the things that happen that NEVER happen in NCAA Football. I get p-ed off with it way too quickly and I won't even give it a chance. One time, I got so mad that I threw my controller against the wall and just barely missed the TV. I haven't played a Madden game since then XD

Even though EA Sports stopped making the NCAA franchise, I'll wait for the next college football game to come out before I play another Madden game again.
