Do your parents ever find you doing the slightest thing that's (Barely) wrong and tend to lecture you about it for a half hour or so? This has happened to me occasionally and it's annoying...And I mean very annoying....

Oh my guardians take everything too seriously. Just a few weeks ago I found out that the people they work for pay for my electricity and stuff, yet they don't even let me charge my laptop when I'm at home. I'm not even allowed to go to a friends house unless the people they work for say its ok, though they told me that's a lie.

shanezer : If you're going to complain, at least give us an example so we can see what we're working with.  If your parents yell at you because you thought it was a good idea to mow the lawn without shoes?  Well, that makes sense.  You'll get your feet shredded by flying debris, rocks, sticks, or whatever.

You say "Barely wrong" but you use parenthesis.  That, to me, means there's something wrong and you know it and you know better.  Maybe you made a bad decision and they yelled at you.  Walk us through what happened.

Me?  My parents let me go out and explore and try things.  I have a lot of scars, I'm kinda surprised I'm still alive, but I'm better for it because I understand how much things hurt when they go wrong.  I'm lucky I didn't lose fingers, toes, my head, etc. for all the stuff I've done.

What did you do?

wrong is wrong no matter what. how we deal with that though is different. there is a point where there can be a constructive way to deal with things big or small and then there is "blah, blah, blah..". since you are one who is still minor and lives at home it may seem like your rights get trampled all over the place by your parents. the best thing you can do is to enable them to see that as a person you are capable of taking care of yourself still and have the ability to rely on yourself for your choices and what happens as a result of them. while parents like to teach and sometimes overdo it don't take it too seriously. growing up i always made my own choices and i still do regardless of what my parents did. remember what it all boils down to is that the choice is still yours no matter what they may say and in the long run your parents will appreciate and respect you for the choices you make...whether or not they admit it.

UGH! Tell me about it. I still can't believe my parents have been together for 35 years; they are ALWAYS fighting because they can't learn to take things to a second degree, especially my mother.
