You don't see panels like this in your average racetrack. That's because this is no average racetrack, but the best of them all.

Be sure to remember its name: Nordschleife. 13 miles long, 73 turns and nearly 80 years of history are its stats. Former holder of top level racing championships, it is now the testing track for manufacturers from all over the world. Because it's the ultimate racetrack, with everything you can ask for.

For every racing fan, at least here in Europe, it's the Holy Grail of racetracks. It's open to the public almost all year long, so many people from different countries meet in this legendary circuit to face its many challenges in their own cars. Or you can take what is called a Ring Taxi, a finely tuned car driven by an expert pilot that laps you around the Ring.

I had the chance to take one of those Ring Taxi, together with my parents. They were seating in the backrow, while I enjoyed the front row and direct view of the track and its surroundings. The Taxi was a BMW M6 Gran Coupe

I could go into more details, but nothing is more self-explaining than the lap itself. Turn up your speakers, because even if you don't understand what we talk about, you must hear the noise. Nine minutes of pure adrenaline and excitement are ahead.

I didn't watch the video yet, but that sounds awesome! I'm not a huge racing fan, but even I would appreciate a wicked track driven by a professional.

How expensive was it?

Don't know how the currency is right now, but I would say 100$ per passenger. And this was the only one we found with more than 1 passenger allowed, because other Taxi, being supercars with only 1 passenger are more expensive, as they go faster and the experience is guaranteed to be more exciting.

Not a really bad present from my mother for her 60th birthday. I don't even mind getting nothing on my birthday this year after that lap.

Man, I would love to hitch a ride around a track like that. I'll be running around a NASCAR track next month, but what you have done is another story.

That's pretty cool. Most of the time you were going pretty slow behind thatLlambo in my opinion, though. I couldn't ride passenger for that... I'd have to be able to drive that for myself.

How much would that cost?

And was that BMW an automatic?

thing1 : One lap only in your car would cost more or less 30$. Of course, the problem is arriving to the track's location in your own car. You can rent a car at the track itself, but the cost would be similar to the Ring Taxi, with the added fact that the cars for rent are for two people only.

And yes, seems like it was automatic, though it can be manual too if wanted. But for a Taxi, which does 20+ laps each day, you end up so tired of changing gears that you prefer to go automatic.

EX Palen : Well, I saw the stick shift in the middle, but he wasn't using it, so I was all confused.
