Davideo7 : only one question as I've never seen anything wrong with vizzed ever since I joined. My saved states from the previous rgr will be able to be loaded in the new one, or will they have a whole new state save that will act as a different save? Wondering as I'm pretty far into the fire emblem series and really don't want to start it over to continue, as I'm sure that no one would.

PS. I should've read the entire thread before posting. Thanks anyway. lol.

So I've had an issue for the last several days to a week now where nullDC freezes up on the nullDC screen. First time I went to play a Dreamcast game (Ikaruga), it ran fine. Set the date and time in the BIOS to whatever it was at the time (which I'm reading now I shouldn't have done, and just left it default so I wouldn't get prompted again), game ran fine, good to go.

After Sonic Shuffle got added, I decided to go and give that a spin. Got the ISO, nullDC showed up... and it sat there. Far longer than it did the first time. While I could still double click it to get the controller menu up, it wasn't doing anything at all. Minimizing or going fullscreen caused the screen to turn black/white respectively. Thinking it might be the game, tried to boot up Ikaruga again. Same issue, stuck on nullDC screen.

PM'd the other staff for help, was told to delete the stuff in the plugin data folder related to it. Only one file exists: a config file that apparently simply reset my controls to -1. Tried to fix my controls since I could still bring up that menu, and attempting to assign buttons made it instantly assign the last button it recognized during assigning on my controller, unless I was holding a button of lower value (gets checked first in the code), and nullDC still wouldn't budge from the nullDC screen. I told Staff this, and it seems my PM was elevated to tRIUNE's inbox, but hasn't been looked at yet (as far as I'm aware). Figure I might get a faster response talking in this thread directly, though.

The only other thing I have tried is a *complete* uninstall of the RGR Plugin (moving my save data temporarily to my desktop so I don't lose those while letting it clean up all the other files it may keep around) to see if I could get it to run again. While the issue with the control setup screen seems to be gone, I could not get back to the BIOS screen to set the time and date again.

Any ideas what might be up, why it let me run once but never again?

I am having issues similar to the ones sonikku is having. I haven't done any uninstalls or deleting of anything but it hangs at the nullDC screen for me as well. Usually it loads after a few tries but every time I try to load a game, it takes longer, if at all, to load. The only one I've really been playing atm is Sonic Adventure 2. I did attempt to load Skies of Arcadia & it did alright but I never got around to playing it because of my interest in the Sonic game. I'm wondering if the loading issues have to do with the fact both of us tried to load a different game instead of sticking with just one.

Stevie 764 : Emulator movies for TAS, correct

I'm always trying to open doors to new things and introducing users to TAS videos I think will help generate some awesome content and maybe even help grow a small little TAS community here on vizzed. It'll also help draw in traffic from people who are into that kind of thing already.

I might wait until the summer but I plan to invest money into a big TAS competition.

dagon51777 : Your save files will carry over, you shouldn't lose anything.

Surgiac :
sonikku : I have no idea at all what that issue might be. The only thing I would think that could possibly fix it is a complete uninstall of the RGR Plugin but just be sure to back up your save files.

Well, uninstalling then reinstalling didn't work right away. I pressed reset & the plugin crashed. After I hit reload, it started working. I don't know if it will load properly again though.

sonikku : That last part was more directed at Surgiac. I'm not sure what the issues are though, I'll have Tom look into it after he's done with the next wave of updates, assuming I still have money left in my budget.

Maybe try the standalone version of nullDC and see if that gives you the same issues. If it does, then we can blame it on the emulator and not the plugin.

supercool22 : I don't think it was necessary but might as well uninstall what you have now and then reinstall.

Surgiac : It's a weird issue.

Davideo7 : I managed to get it to run on a standalone emulator (thanks for letting us see the dc_boot file to get into the BIOS, btw), but it wasn't going from a cold boot. I had to get into the BIOS before the game would actually run for me (inserting the disc after the BIOS booted), so maybe turning off auto-run may fix the problem.

sonikku : I've added a button to the Play Window which lets you adjust which plugins are used. Maybe you could try experimenting with this. I also removed some code from the play window which could possibly fix the problem (but doubt it).

You could also try updating to the latest version which just came out today:
https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=84886

I doubt this will help but it's worth a try.

supercool22 : Glad you figured it out.

asdren : The Game Accelerator item doesn't work with any CD system.

Davideo7 : The fact that there could be a "small TAS community" as you said pretty much made me come back to doing my own Tool Assisted Speedruns, and I just did a small bit of what will be a Super Mario Bros warpless TAS, but instead of just beating the game as fast as possible, I'm gonna do some crazy stuff in it (not like clipping into walls without roofs, that requires sub pixels) like doing unnecessary walljumps and also having a hitbox data Lu's that comes with FCEUX 2.2.2 so I can do even more things like showing how embarrassingly small some harmful hit boxes are. But yeah, I am coming back to TAS games like what I did with my two old sonic uploads. But then again, I might be the first one on Vizzed to ever do TAS runs, because I had a cancelled project almost 3 years ago for the GBC DX port of Super Mario Bros. Might as well start changing a bit of profile info and bio concerning a unexpected return from my superhuman works.

Davideo7 : I started trying the different plugins when I noticed something. When I click the "Adjust Plugins" button, I get a notice that says the changes will take place upon restart. For the first few plugins, this was alright. The game still didn't work but when I clicked on the plugin button again, it showed the changes had taken affect. Then I got to the controller plugins. Whenever I try to change the plugin from the first drop-down menu in the controller section & then restart, it reverts to what the plugin was originally set at so I can't really see if the other plugins affect the loading of the game.

I can't install Vizzed RGR Plugin. It is because I have to use safe mode every day because I have a BSOD problem (but it is not a virus). There is some programs/applications like Firefox and when I try to open them, I get the BSOD. Even in Safe Mode. There is an application that is going to open itself, but then it opens and my computer gets the BSOD. So I have to use an internet browser called Comodo Dragon. I have another computer, but since I had to reinstall but downgraded to an older version, it can't use the internet.

Davideo7 : I did alt+enter on N64 games and I think it didn't work.  Do you mind fixing it or what. If you can't or if you already answered that question, that's okay.
