I'm pretty sure that there was already a few threads like this before for different amounts of money. As for me, if I had 50 million, i'd put about 40 million in savings and then with the rets I would go all out and buy whatever I need, house, car, stuff for the house, Sporting events for years, movie tickets for years, and then I'd donate some to a few places.

Ok, let's see, if I win 50 mill, what I want to do that..... Well, do what the IB does best, just blow that $50,000,000 on pointless garbage that I won't ever use in my entire life like some rich people do. Ok, maybe save $30,000,000 of that money in the bank and spend 1/3 of the remaining $10,000,000 to do some donations to places that needs it, and then blow $10,000,000 on useless garbage.

I would put around 35 mil into savings, give some money to my immediate family
buy a house, a car, blah blah and whatnot, then travel the world

Somehow everyone seems to be missing the question here. Maybe you should but a set of "rules" in bold text at the bottom of the opening post for those who skim through it. Just an idea. I had this same problem recently with a game thread I made.


I would buy houses for homeless people, or at least buy them what they needed to get a job and pay a few months rent on a place for them, then give them some food etc.

I would also start an organization that helped kids who "graduated" so to speak from orphanages without being adopted. What I mean is when they turn eighteen they're kind of on their own with no one to help them and no job. This organizAtion would help them find jobs and get started on their own.

I'd donate a huge sum to St. Jude's (assuming we all know what they do).

Yeah, I've thought of this many a times only minus the lottery part.

You seem to have misunderstood the question. Think of it more like "If you were given $50,000,000 that you HAD to donate, what would you donate to? Friends or family not allowed."

Ok, let's restart this, If I had 50,000,000. I would mostly donate to a lot of the cash to a bunch of research for medicine to cure all the major diseases in the world like Aids, Cancer, and all of those deadly stuff.

Well, 

1. Yes, also make a wish

2. Some orginization for people that are diagnosed.
3. Keep some of it

Or can I not use number 3?

I would donate it to poor people, sick people, etc., and I would give some to my friends and family .

I specifically feel for the homeless, orphans, and veterans. I'd most likely build and staff something very similar to Eirinn, and would donate quite a large amount to organizations helping homeless veterans and orphans.

and donate it to the programs that help homeless people and give the rest to a terrorist organization (maybe :p)

I would donate $25 million of it to foundations that will help cure diseases (such as Cystic Fibrosis, which makes your lungs in bad shape. My sister has it). I'd donate the other $25 million to school districts in my area, especially the one I go to which is having financial issues. They had to cut bus transportation for students living less than a mile away from school!

Donate $10 to Vizzed. I'll keep the rest of the money HEHHHHHHHHHHEHEHEH.

I would buy random people random things (e.g. a new car for my neighbor, a thousand Hot Pockets for a complete stranger, etc.), then donate the rest to Make-A-Wish I guess. I don't know many charities.

1. I would donate a large chunk to my provinces branch of Cancer Care.

2. The local zoo would get a hefty donation to help improve the quality of life for the animals. 

3. I think I'd like to donate to my old school, in particular, my favourite vocational class. It always seemed to get the short end of the stick when it came to funding. 

If I had to spend ALL in just a 3 ways , I'd probably:

1) Maybe around $25,000,000 to Vizzed... Probably.

2) I'd probably help the homeless people - maybe around $10,000 - $25,000 per person and tell them to be careful with the money; there are peoples who won the lottery and then lost everything because they were dumb.

3) That would put up to maybe $24,000,000 left. I'd spend it all on... Ehh... I'd donate it to you because I thought you won the lottery for real

3- I'll donate 10 000 000 Dollars on Vizzed.
2- Donate to Public Schools in my country, so they can improve their education (In my country, Public Schools aren't as good as Private ones, unfortunately.)
1-Forgot to mention that I'll donate 20 000 000 Dollars to Public Schools. And, finally, I'll donate the rest of my money to the poor, sick, and homeless people.

Congratulations on winning the lottery. If it was me, I'd probably invest it in various fields of science and medicine. After that I'd probably retire or something... I don't know.

A very tricky decision to be made for certain.
I'd probably put aside only a portion for charitable causes, and I wouldn't give it all at once.
Charities are notoriously greedy and don't really spend the funds in the ways they should.
Actually come to think about it I might go as far as setting up my own not for profit.

If one doesn't count helping ones friends as having a bearing on me or family personally then that's one thing I'd do, help them with money/housing/etc, though to me my friends are more then family so it might not count.

So I guess some money is going to medicine, some is going to mental health to help those that really need help in different forms, and some to the animal shelters.
