Starting today I will be making some massive changes to the forum, and practically every aspect
is going have some huge changes. I already have a bunch of ideas on what to change but I also
want as many big ideas as I can get.

First off, should we change the name? The forum has always been for PC games in general, but
with steam being the largest of them, we went with that. What are some other things that we
can change about the look itself to make it better?
Local Mods : From now on, I'm probably going to start enforcing minimum activity guidelines,
and of course, I will ask if each of you want to keep your positions?

GREENLIGHT

I'm going to go ahead and talk about the biggest change of them all which will be the Greenlight
section. This section had already been in the process of being revamped with our most recent
contest. Hopefully, we can get as many green light games as we can so everyone can talk about
them. One major change is that I will personally reach out to many of the developers and see
about them coming to vizzed to talk about the gamed themselves. We have already had one
green light developer come to vizzed and hopefully more will come. Hopefully we can do a lot
with early access games and others.

I am also looking for semi staff members for this section, specifically Greenlight Managers, who
will probably be paid small amounts of Viz. Green light Managers will have two tasks. They will
find Greenlight games and post the links in the submission thread. Once a thread goes up for a
game, the managers will go over the games page and its info and hive their thorough opinion
of it as well as a grade.

Lastly, there will also be a featured Developer section for developers who have done multiple
games or have a good story behind them.

FORUM RANKS

Yup, forum ranks are the next new feature which are going to be based on total post count in the forum and each rank is going to give out a small prize whether it's viz, a Steam game, or maybe even a customized Layout, emblem, or something else. This isn't going to be for every single user who posts in the forum though because it would be too hard to go look through every single thread in the forum to find every member and then get post count. So if you want a rank, you will have to post in a future thread saying that you want one and you will be added to the list. Quality of the posts will determine the value of each rank prize and I already have a few ideas for designs for each rank.

REVIEWS

Of course, reviews have to change a lot because of the new VGR section and the review forum. There is going to be a special review thread where every Windows review in the Review forum will be listed, and there will also be a rotating Review of the week/month for the best reviews. There will be some reviews that can still be posted here. If it's a game that is on Steam and is not a general PC game and does not have a page, then it can be posted here. If it's a greenlight, early access, alpha, beta, or any of those other kinds of games, then it can also be posted here under the Review Forum.

Many other big changes also to come, so give feedback and ideas.

vanelan : All it's really doing is giving more opportunites, it will be there regarldess of whether people want to post or not.

Either way, make changes and get some more activity....

We seem to have the same 5 people posting.
If we can get more people, then make changes.

vanelan : Part of the greenligh section I mentioned worked, and I reached out to 7 game develpers so far, and at least 3 have agreed to sign up next week. Getting actual developers should really help.

I just hope they are good vizzed members.

I would hate to have the steam/pc forum get noticed for the wrong reasons.

I think competitions with steam games would bring more activity. I think there was one before, but idk if it happened.

earthwarrior : There was like 11 STeam contests here since we started.

Keep in mind that I have a server and can set up most any steam game server.

Right now, I have tf2, starbound, and unturned up.

Non-steam, I have teamspeak, a kaillera server (same type as vizzed uses for netplay), icecast (streaming video game music).

We certainly have the means to set up something competitive. 

vanelan : I think that if David does let you set up the TS for vizzed, that will be a huge plus especially for the forum. Have you ever posted the unturned server?

I don't recall if I did post the unturned server details.

I mighta tested it to see what it was like then just left it.

With teamspeak, even if there isn't an "official" teamspeak, it still gives us a lot of flexibility to create lots of different channels for different sections of the forums, or the RGR or steam.

A couple of these changes ended up not happening since I'm still waiting for a few things to be answered by David. A few of the green light changes have taken effect, already brought in a few game developers, and the mods have been redone.

I will try to have the forum ranks set up sometime this month.
