Characters with severe balance issues. I'd rather not include 'bonus' characters that you can play after beating the game. Have you played a game that was difficult, then once you got a certain character the game felt over?  Or perhaps a main character in an RPG that doesn't seem to need a party, so strong its kind of pointless?

I'd like to see what games I haven't played have such elite symptoms. Depending on how the thread goes, maybe even game-breaking items and not just characters.

 "CID" from Final Fantasy Tactics for the Playstation - Thundergod Cid is crazy strong, having all sword technique open for him to master - and hes just unlocked in story mode like any regular character.  Bosses and groups of foes all fall to the real hero of the game, Cid.

England in Civilization V (but only on maps with lots of Oceans). Queen Elizabeth can basically patrol the seas, plunder trade routes and destroy any other naval units with her Ship-of-the-lines. Oh, and she gets more more spy (in the Renascence era, no less).
The biggest thing that balances her is that the Ships do require Iron, and you can pillage her Iron supplies to limit her spam.

England isn't actually that OP. If you amass even a sizable navy, you should be on par with her. That is, if she even gets a sea-side tile to spawn on.

I think Japan is more OP. You have the ability to inflict a large amount of damage on any enemy unit, even if your unit lost some health themselves. It doesn't sound that big, but it's very OP if you're going for a domination victory.

And then, when you almost kill him, he uses a mushroom to heal himself. Made me punch my keyboard.

How about a classic, What about tails the fox in sonic the hedgehog games.. Literally you can just let someone else control tails and defeat all the bosses for you without having to put any effort in at all, and if tails dies he literally re spawns in like 5 seconds.. 

I'd say an invincible fox that can fly you to higher places (in later games) and make boss fights a complete joke is Over Powered especially as it is a platformer... 


And that's not even talking about cream who can chao spam all the bosses in the sonic advance games.. She is just simply a broken character indeed.. Like super Over Powered for a platformer!

In megaman x7, once you get X, axl is completely useless, since you can charge x's shots, x can get armor upgrades, and he can get an upgrade to glide, making axl's last niche obsolete, in all axl still can use copy shot and he has upgradable pistols, but x's charge shot beats all of them.

Now, I may not know much about how competitive play works, (NO ITEMS, FOX ONLY, FINA DESTINATION) but just below... That.... We have Meta Knight who gets banned in most tournaments and has A WHOLE TIER TO HIMSELF. I haven't researched what makes him OP, but I just go by the word... Or something.

Some overpowered characters are Albert Wesker, Jill Valentine, and Chris Redfield in Marvel vs Capcom 3, there moveset especially on hard can make you end up breaking your controller, but I must say though, Really good post, very unique, very thought provoking, and very inteligent, intellectually sound, and thought provoking. Speaking of this game made me think of a classic series I hold deep in my heart, the name of the series is Resident Evil. Ah Resident Evil now there's a series that brings back many memories for me. I laughed, I cried, I got angry, and annoyed. The time it came out, I was quite young still in grade school, but though young the series made a lasting impact on me that I will never forget. The graphics may be horrendous now, but back then they were state of the art, I remember being scared out of my mind as a kid when I played that close to Halloween, I didnt sleep that night at all, not a good combination mixing turning the sound all the way up, with the lights off, and it being night out, I had nightmares for a week. My friends all were scared of that game as well, we all used to run home and were glued to our television sets, seeing what would happen between Wesker, Chris, and Jill, those three are like the trio of legendary proportions always anyone whoever it is talking about Resident Evil it's always Wesker, Chris, and Jill. And the infamous Jill sandwich, such a legendary meme, I was thinking of that meme for ages, it was so classic, and funny. I am glad this site offers so much Resident Evil, I could play the series for hours on end. Sadly Capcom never showed love or stop caring for Resident Evil after Resident Evil 4. After Resident Evil 4, it was not the same Resident Evil, I grew up on and fell in love with, it dramatically changed in the bad way, I never really understood why though they did such a harsh change to the genre. Don't get me wrong though, the later games are fun and amazing, but as amazingly awesome they are, it's just not the same as Resident 1 through Resident Evil Code Veronica. The newer ones are pure action, with barely any or none at all horror content or substance, a shell of its former self if you will. Hopefully Capcom will regain it's former glory and stop churning out games like theres no tomorrow, and Call of Duty clones. But in all it is a very wonder ful game, and has alot to give.

Lycan212 : I have not played this game, do they get to use guns? Like Vermilion in Toshinden 2 (another fighting game)?

Aladdin in Kingdom Hearts II. Really, you can NOT tell me that guy isn't an OP-as-heck addition to your team. Whenever I put him on my team in Agrabah and we'd encounter some enemies, Aladdin would slash through, defeating all of them, before I could even land a single blow.
