That was f***ing stupid.
I don't like either team. I just wanted a good game. It was a good game until Seattle decided to be absolute morons. Great game for about 59 minutes. Then a showcase in a lack of football sense. Personally I would have paid for this Super Bowl to be any other two teams. I am glad the Seahawks got humbled, but really wish the Cheaters hadn't won the Super Bowl. To me it makes a very sad statement to young people all over the world. That would be that it is okay to cheat to win and you will still prosper if you cheat. It's a terrible message to give to young people, but it seems to be a prevalent one in the US. Personally I would have paid for this Super Bowl to be any other two teams. legacyme3 : You must be a Seattle fan? That was the best Super Bowl I've ever seen, even if the Patriots hadn't won I would say that. The Seahawks didn't lose because of one play call, they lost because the "Legion of Boom" couldn't stop Tom Brady from coming back after going down 10 points, and because an UNDRAFTED FREE AGENT made an incredible play to seal the deal. If you want to be considered with the best defenses of all time like many of the Seahawks players have continually talked about, then you can not give up the biggest comeback in the 4th quarter in Super Bowl history. As for the people here that were saying that Brady wouldn't throw as well because the balls were properly inflated.... 37/50 passes completed and 328 yards against by FAR the best defense of the year. In the end, the best team won. |

trouble982 :
Read my post again. I clearly said "I don't like either team." Both are highly unlikable, both have generally awful fanbases. If I didn't watch the Super Bowl each year out of tradition, I wouldn't have watched at all. I don't think the best team won. I see it less as New England winning and more as Seattle losing it. Anyone with half a brain knows that Seattle should have ran it on that last play. I know you can't boil a loss down to one play because both teams have opportunities. There were several plays that happened this playoff that ended the game, plays that had they been converted the game would have switched gears. Like the Cowboys/Packers game. Or the Packers/Seahawks game. But the difference is, those were low percentage plays. The statistical odds of falling to gain one yard on three running plays, with Beat Mode as your running back? I don't really think you can boil the sport down to math. But there's not a doubt in my mind that the result changes if Seattle runs it. If Seattle runs it, does the best team win? No, this was a meh Super Bowl as an objective fan who likes neither team, now that a couple days have passed. The fact that only three plays at the end of the game and an interception in the middle stand out to me, whereas I remember a Super Bowl from a decade ago clearly. In fact this might be the only Super Bowl ever where I enjoyed the half time show more than the game. Read my post again. I clearly said "I don't like either team." This year had a great Super Bowl...there's no doubt about that. But even if you didn't like either team, or even if you don't like football at all, if you were watching this game and you didn't get excited at the end, then you simply don't have a pulse. At least everyone got to watch all 60 minutes this time...unlike last year where the game was over after the very first play. In my opinion, the Patriots definitely deserved to win this one. After their past 2 Super Bowl appearances, both against the Giants, where the Giants had to come up with an impossible catch to beat the Patriots...and it almost happened again. Kearse made yet another unbelievable circus catch late in the Super Bowl against the Patriots. However, Pete Carroll made an understandable, yet still awful, decision to pass the ball with arguably the most physical running back in the game on the 1 yard line. And let me tell you, Marshawn Lynch deserved every bit NOT to get the ball and watch his team fall apart in the final seconds. I loved every second of seeing Richard Sherman on the sidelines with his "puke face." I wish I could've seen him start crying...he was almost about to. All it took for the Patriots to win was a rookie cornerback who has 0 career INTs do his homework, and he saw something familiar as he jumped a short slant route and won the game for the Patriots. You can say "Pete Carroll made a terrible decision! If they would've run it with Lynch, Seattle would've won!" all you want. In the end, the Patriots were down 10 points midway through the 4th quarter, and they still made an impressive comeback against the best defense in the NFL, and they simply made plays! If Seattle had come out on top, it would've been the biggest fluke since the Saints won it back in 2008. The Seahawks didn't even deserve to be there in the first place, let alone put themselves in a position to win it. That 2-point conversion they made against the Packers a couple weeks before, combined with that catch that Kearse made inside the 5...Seattle is the luckiest team I think I've ever seen in my life, and I've been watching football for about 20 years now. The Packers definitely deserve to be there way more than the Seahawks, and honestly it would've been a better game. The game probably would've went to OT and even been more exciting than the actual one. Congratulations to the Patriots! The more deserving team definitely took home the Lombardi trophy this year! legacyme3 : Easiest way to avoid all of the controversy...Have the greatest defense of the year hold a 10 point lead in the 4th quarter. The Patriots earned that win, and you are in a very small minority if you really thought that was a bad Super Bowl. |

As I said earlier. It was a good Super Bowl until the last play. Even had they tried and failed, it would have been a good Super Bowl. But when you make a moronic play call that even my moronic friend could see through, you instantly throw it away. That was f***ing terrible. The Pats may have earned the lead, but the Seahawks threw the Super Bowl away by doing the dumbest thing in professional sports history. As I said earlier. At the Patriots parade today, Edelman punched a sign that had Richard Sherman's face on it, and Blount & Bolden were holding up shirts that said "B**** Mode"...and people say the Seahawks have no class. You didn't see stuff like this at the Seahawks parade last year. |

Chewedmint : Exactly, I seen that too, and Gronkowski was chugging beer and throwing the cans into the crowd. Sure at the Seattle parade. Marshawn Lynch had a bottle of Fireball, but he wasn't throwing it in the crowd. As for the Super Bowl. What a game, I myself am a Seahawks fan. That last play was heartbreaking, some say it was stupid, but you gotta look at it this way, Ricardo Lockette didn't make the play, it was a great throw, and Butler made a great defensive play. Personally I think Darrell Bevell, the offensive coordinator made that call, but Pete Carroll is pretty much saving his ass, and taking the blame, and Russell Wilson is taking the blame for throwing it. Which I gotta lot of respect for them to admitting their mistakes. As for the fight at the end of the game. It shouldn't of happened, but I think Bruce Irvin and Michael Bennett let their emotions get the best of them, and they both have apologized, which I respect them for doing. But at the same time, I think it would of been smart to at least run the ball once, call that time out, and then maybe a throw. There are so many what if's about the game, and it sucks that Seattle lost, but we can't change it. They just will come back next year and get revenge. I myself can't stand the Patriots, I despise Tom Brady, and I despise Bellicheck, but I will give credit, it was one helluva of a game. Even with the ending it had, and I am not mad they won, as much as I hate the team. It's too bad that they are classless clowns for the most part. I do like a few players on the team, but for the most part. I can't stand them. Of course like thing1 said, you won't hear ESPN show the classless garbage they were doing during the parade. I myself really enjoy the team we have, so much character, and people that are awesome, Russell Wilson is a class act. Marshawn Lynch, beast mode, sure people give him crap for not talking to media, but let's face it, the sports media is awful, and he does answer their questions. The Legion of Boom, Earl Thomas, Kam Chancellor, Richard Sherman, awesome players. A lot of people hate Richard Sherman, call him a thug, when he's actually a very smart guy, Stanford graduate. He's outspoken, sure arrogant at times, but he shows emotion with being outspoken, and that is what I think is awesome about him. I am glad he is a Seahawk, and hopefully he stays for a long time. Earl Thomas, and Kam Chancellor, 2 hard hitting players, not only that they played the Super Bowl with injuries, and they weren't minor. I got a lot of respect for that. Can't wait to see what Seattle will do next year. I know we did lose some coaching staff that were key parts, but I think we will still do awesome. Now if only my second favorite team, the Cleveland Browns can get something going. I know the first thing they need to do is get rid of Johnny Manziel. As for the Super Bowl. I've been telling people for years that the Pats (and most of their fans) have no class. It's always good to hear another story the media won't cover because it would hurt their darling Patriots reputation. And it's always nice that most of their fans will ignore it and brush it off as a heat of the moment event. Good find. thing1 : You should be the last one to be talking to other team's fans about class. #EndDiscussion I've been telling people for years that the Pats (and most of their fans) have no class. The "B*tch Mode" shirt was weak and didn't even make sense. Lynch had a solid game, and hasn't done anything classless. Sherman, on the other hand, deserves to have it rubbed in a bit. You can hear him talking crap during the game in the Sound FX replays, and I still think he was pointing out that it was Revis who got scored on late. "As for the fight at the end of the game. It shouldn't of happened, but I think Bruce Irvin and Michael Bennett let their emotions get the best of them, and they both have apologized, which I respect them for doing." Bennett took a shot at the reporter first, which was pretty weak. And the Patriots with the B*tch Mode shirt have come out and apologized, too. "you won't hear ESPN show the classless garbage they were doing during the parade" They had a front page article on it on their website. "I myself really enjoy the team we have, so much character, and people that are awesome" I think some of the Seahawks deserve criticism. Sherman's hatred is earned. And I'd be pissed at the receiver who pretended to poop on the ball after he scored (got a 15 yarder for it) if he was on my team. But they did a great job fighting through injuries, and played a fantastic game. I have no problem with Lynch, especially after the way the media treated Brady during his Deflategate press conference. The media has no integrity at all, and doesn't deserve his time. I also like Wilson a lot, and I think he'll be a lot of fun to root for for a long time. The "B*tch Mode" shirt was weak and didn't even make sense. soxfan849 : You mean when Doug Baldwin did that s**ting on the ball? Yeah Randy Moss did that years ago, nobody got mad, he didn't even get fined. I thought it was funny. |

I just meant I'd be upset if he was on my team because it cost them 15 yards in such an important game. I laughed at the celebration too. I just meant I'd be upset if he was on my team because it cost them 15 yards in such an important game. I laughed at the celebration too. |

soxfan849 : I don't think I would be really angry, I'd probably be laughing more then anything. I am sure most Seattle fans would be pissed off though. No doubt. |

I know this thread has been inactive for about a month now, but there have been a lot of shifts in offenses this season that could have a major impact in both the NFL and fantasy football next season. Some very notable changes include the following (I'll just post 3 of them for now).
1) LeSean McCoy traded to the Buffalo Bills The blockbuster trade of this offseason. I was absolutely shocked when I saw that this trade happened. Philly (as far as I see it), gave up on McCoy and gave away a top tier RB1 for a LB with the potential to become a solid linebacker in the near future. I don't know who the real winner is in this trade (I think the Bills got the better short term deal but if Alonso can stay heathy and produce, the LB core of the Eagles could become quite the defensive arsenal for this team. Adding Byron Maxwell at corner wouldn't hurt either. 2) Suh, Murray, etc. on the move Ndakuming Suh. Probably the best DT in the game. The Lions decided not to place an unbelievable $26 million tag on him, and he could be moving to Dolphins soon. I haven't heard much about Murray, but from what I've heard, he could land in Indianapolis, which would give an otherwise explosive offense a halfback that they've desperately needed (since T-Rich is...well bad). A lot of big names are on the move this offseason, and I wouldn't be surprised if the balance of power in the NFL shifted slightly because of these changes. 3) Veterans being released Andre Johnson. Darnell Dockett. Reggie Wayne. Vincent Wilfork. A.J Hawk. Just to name a few. A bunch of veterans are being released by the teams they spent a majority (if not all) of their career with. A lot of top tier players are seeing ties with the teams they've been with for so long (and possibly their careers) coming to an end. What's next for these guys? Only time can tell. 1) LeSean McCoy traded to the Buffalo Bills The blockbuster trade of this offseason. I was absolutely shocked when I saw that this trade happened. Adding to recent news, another blockbuster trade was announced. Jimmy Graham was traded to the Seahawks along with a 4th round pick in exchange for a first round pic and center Max Unger. The changes in the NFL have been unbelievable (in my opinion), and this should be a very interesting free agency period. In more news, Patrick Willis is retiring. |

megamanmaniac : You ask me, I think a lot of these moves are steals for one team, and really bad moves for the other. I mean, I know the teams to make room for cap space, but I just think teams are too desperate right now to make things work right away, so they are making bad deals. And Ngata was traded for a 4th and 5th round pick. Bad deal. A guy that is set to have a 16M cap hit is worth more than a 4th and a 5th. Maybe a 2nd and 3rd, AT THE LEAST And Ngata was traded for a 4th and 5th round pick. Bad deal. A guy that is set to have a 16M cap hit is worth more than a 4th and a 5th. thing1 : Yup. I agree with you that they pretty much gave away Ngata. I understand that hes in the last year of his contract and that hes a veteran who may not be as big of a difference-maker as he used to be, but I think the Ravens definitely undervalued his worth. I don't think a team would give up both a 2nd and 3rd for Ngata, but getting just a 4th and 5th pick in return in my opinion means that the Lions got the better end of the deal (unless the Ravens get lucky and draft a Pro Bowl type of guy in the 4th round). |
