Metroid walkthrough
First head left and you will find the first upgrade in the game the ball upgrade. This buy far is the easiest upgrade to get in the game. Now we want to head right. Enter the door, continue right until you enter the West Brinstar Shaft. Head up to the first door on the right and enter it. Continue through a bridge like structure to another shaft, the East Brinstar Shaft. We want to head to the right hand door at the very bottom of the shaft. Continue right and obtain the first missile upgrade. At the end of the game you should have a grand total of 225 missiles. Now head back to the West Brinstar Shaft and enter the first door on the left, heading up. Blast the red door with all five of your missiles and continue to get the long beam upgrade. West Brinstar Shaft and head back to East Brinstar. The door above us will not be visited until the near-end of the game. Now we want to head inside the door right across from the Bridge stretcher and head along this path. Continue through a tunnel, a square shaft, another tunnel, and another shaft (which we need to remember the location of), we enter a third tunnel. However, about halfway through this tunnel, we can obtain our first energy tank in the game. Continue right, and enter the door. We have now entered the Bomb Shaft. If we head up from where we are now, we will arrive at a door. Use five missiles to open the door. Inside is the morph ball upgrade. Return to the shaft that I told you to remember and bomb the floor right about at the middle and drop down. Don’t worry about the lava. Remember that all lava in vertical shafts are fake. Drop down and enter the door on the left with 5 missiles. Inside is the ice beam upgrade.Head back out to the shaft, and back up. The lava can be stood on at a part of it, and if you shoot up, it blasts a square out of the ground however you cant seem to jump it. What you need to do is place a bomb, turn back into a human, then let it blow, bouncing you up. At the height of the Bomb Jump, do a normal jump witch will allow you to escape. Now, we want to head back out into the East Brinstar Shaft, and head up to the top door on the right. We have now entered the green area of the game. Next we want to head right and take the top tunnel. Enter the door at the end witch leads to another shaft. There’s an energy tank in the next tunnel to the right. Head down to the red door in this shaft and get the Varia suit upgrade. Head down to the bottom of the shaft, head right, and grab the Missile expansion on the way. Continue until you cant go any farther and freeze an enemy called a ripper. Want to freeze him when he overlaps the square next to the wall. Shoot out the ceiling directly next to the wall, jump on the frozen Ripper and enter a tunnel made of fake-block. At the end of this small tunnel is another Energy Tank. Enter the door on the right. We now find ourselves back in the Brinstar Bomb Shaft. From here, you need to navigate to the tunnel where we got the missiles in and go down and we have now arrived at Norfair.
