Those of you who don't know about this YouTube series, Kids React is a video series where kids watch a video or encounter with a device and they react to these items. Today's episode coincides with the 25th anniversary of when the original GameBoy was released and the kids react to the very first GameBoy and the game Tetris. In watching this video, it kinda surprises me that most of the kids don't know the game Tetris, nor do they know how to play it. Even with the GameBoy itself, I would have thought that they could at least guess that it's an old GameBoy or a "very old DS"

Watch, enjoy, react to this video, and feel old like me.

Believe it or not I have actually seen quite a few of these, mainly when I am browsing youtube or searching a popular topic, I run into one of these, I find the teens react ones to be the funniest because they are so dramatic in their reactions. I can't say that I feel old watching this unfortunately XD, but a lot of the times I find myself lost with a lot of the things teens do.

As for this video I am actually shocked that they aren't even familiar with tetris considering that kids their age play all different kinds of video games.

I like the kid in the green shirt with the glasses. I want to slap the rest of them across the face. I would take an original Gameboy over a DS any day.

This does make me feel old, and I'm only 15!

I'm in agreeal with Tgags123, I'm only 15 as well and I swear I was thinking through this whole entire video "This is the new generation. Thinking that stuff like this is 'Not fun', 'Poor Graphics, so I wouldn't play it' or 'I'd pick new technology" And along with that I'm thinking "Wow, I'm also in this generation" and it makes me disappointed in a way. But I feel like its because of some parents spoiling their kids with the latest technology without them trying something old for a change. I would honestly love to have an older gaming system compared to newer, expensive ones.

Yea, I feel old and diverse from most teens.

Almost all of the kids react videos make me feel old. The one where they try using an Apple II computer is awesome.  They can't even figure out how to turn it on.

Wow, kids these days.....next our grandchildren will have "6DS" (just a metaphor) or "iphone 10" and say that 3DS is a piece of junk.
I can't stop playing this video and hear all their lines, it's just interesting for me.

Btw, If any of you feel like it, why not watch this video in youtube:

I agree with Tommy. I wanted to kill the rest of them for their...rubbishness of words to what they said, about the gameboy. And also what they  said about our generation back then. Oh man...this makes me feel old 23 years old and still counting....they need to appreciate these things more, as there would had never been a wii and other consoles born. This tells you how lazy kids can be these days with consoles and such.

I like the gameboy for starting it all, though that's it. The graphics were good back in that day, probably, though you can't blame the kids for preferring the new systems they themselfs are growing up with.

They can and may compare the gameboy with the new systems, as everything grew out of it. So of course graphics wise and probably playing wise they'd choose the new systems.

I myself, and even some others who posted in this thread, have no right saying that the gameboy is better. We weren't there back in the day, when there wasn't any newer devices. Back then that was the 3DS of now. If we, the new generation, would now play gameboy, whether we want to or not, our thought will go to the newer systems, how the graphics are better there, etc.

No need to dislike the kids for preferring 'their gameboy'.

I love the Elders React series the most out of all because the elders have enjoyable and/or funny reactions and they are able to share their wisdom depending on the topic.

This video is one of the many examples that technology is growing fast. Technology goes from fat and 8-bit graphics to skinny and realistic graphics in just a matter of years like wow. Like how we adapted to the Gameboy, Super Nintendo, and etc, the kids right now adapted to the 3DS, PS3, and etc. If these kids grew in our time of gaming, they would probably want the Gameboy as well. I completely agree with FunnyFurret's point of view.

Oh man, that was hilarious. Despite the hate they got for saying what they said, a lot of it was true. The Game Boy was the first handheld system I ever owned, and it was good for it's time, but it really doesn't hold up anymore, but then, what technology from twenty years ago does hold up still?

Thanks for making me feel even older, Play. And I do have to point out that the video referred to the gameboy as a "Handheld console". That is one of my biggest video game related pet peeves. lol There is no such thing as a handheld console people! xD A console is a big box that plays games and hooks up to your TV. Can you really imagine someone walking around carrying a console to play games on? That would be far too large and heavy. They are called Home consoles and Handheld systems.

Now that my rant has ended, again I'll say the video was funny and cute. Thanks for sharing that.

Oh wow, I feel kinda old now too. Even if my first Gaming device ever was a Gameboy Color, I still played the big original.

Most of the kids were kind of obnoxious, but, you can't put TOO much blame on them. They might have respected it more if they were given any chances to play outside of the Fine Bro's Secret Base. Or maybe if they just understood that that is the reason we have 3DS, PS Vita, and all those things in the first place.

This was funny even though the first gameboy I had was the micro in 2005 not the original. I find it even more funnier reading these comments. I am 16 so I am probably still in that generation of kids who think that way. (I don't but it is quite funny hearing kids younger than me say stuff like "it is like a telephone" lol) Though one kid did say if it wasn't for this then their wouldn't be the 3DS or PS Vita etc. I understand them not liking it as they grew up with different systems. I do prefer the DS and 3DS over the gameboy. Just like funny furret I only thank the gameboy for lighting the spark for handhelds and that is it.

Shame they do not know the classics. I play classic games on this site. I'm glad we have this site to play classic games for classic systems.  I was shocked they did not know what it was. I figured they would at least have an idea.  We that grew up with the NES, Game Boy and SNES,I'm showing my age, but before the NES came there was the Atari, need to show the kids the classics.

Kids today no appreciation for the classics

This does make me feel old and I'm only turning 15 this year o.o

I'd say I agree with Funnyfurret for the most part.

I don't really blame them for not liking it I mean it is true that it can't hold up to anything that is out on the market today and if you try to argue otherwise I suspect that you should take of your nostalgia goggles.

With that said I still like the gameboy I still play many of the games that are on it though maybe not as frequently as I used to. I think part of the reason I like it is because I grew up with it even though there was never tech on the market as I got a gameboy from my mom's friend and being obsessed with Pokemon at the time (which I still kind of am lol) I used to play Pokemon Silver all day (the version without colours). I didn't really have anything to compare it with besides a Sega Genesis.
