Do that enough times though, I'll ban you from guessing. Forever. Also try to read my first 2 posts, and don't complain about how your possibilities and the prize. If you want to increase your chances keep guessing and ask others to guess to. If you want to have a bigger prize, keep guessing.

Your chances are higher than 0.005%, because the chances are increasing with each guess, the point of this is to encourage more people to guess. Imagine if every poster on vizzed tried their luck! Then the prize would be increased well above 10000 (since I add to the pot), and your chances would also increase! If you compare this to the lottery, you have a much higher chance of winning so your chances are actually pretty good.(not great, but not bad either).

1-2000 and 100 Viz per guess? Seems like you'll be making more twice the profit before someone guesses the correct number. Maybe make it 100 Viz for 10 guesses and lower the prize. You could do something like the more the player the larger the pot. So the more people that enter the larger the prize gets. Just a suggestion, the odds don't really seem fair.

I gotta say I think you should get rid of the 2 week deadline.

If you are going to have a 2 week deadline, an appropriate guessing range would be about 1-100. 1-150 at the most. 2,000.... really no point in even guessing, as you are spending 100 Viz for a 0.0005% chance of getting it right.

But regardless, 2,000 is too much even with no deadline.

Just to let everyone know, I will be putting a certain amount of the profit (anywhere from 20% to 50%, probably 30% percent or 40%, since I do want to make a profit.) I make, into the prize, so it is fair, to pay 100Viz. As more people guess, the higher the chances and the higher the prize, this is to encourage more people to guess. I also can not lower the range of numbers, to any where around 100 to 500, because I would be gutanteed to lose money, since the number would be guessed after 50 or 40 guesses(1-250) or even 18 guesses (1-100). I just did the math in my head.. READ THE FIRST POST CAREFULLY! It states that I add to the pot, for every amount of profit I make. And to let everyone know, I did remove the deadline

I think your true problem will be getting people to bet. 100 Viz isn't much for a guess, but to guess a number 1-2000 isn't that much an incentive to spend any viz, at all. 

Secondly, the problem with these sort of "Guess the Number" prize threads is the fact that there might not be a winner (especially when it's such a wide range). Someone could even take advantage of the thread and not name a winner until they had lined their pockets with a lot of Viz through guesses. While I don't think you would manipulate your 'number' in that way, it's always a possibility. 

You could: 
1) Name the closest guess the winner after 'x' number of guesses.
2) Make it a pot where one person is randomly picked after 'x' number of entries. 

Both methods ensure a winner, which makes others more confident in guessing. 

I'm just saying this because while you did make that teensy change to the deadline, I don't think you've actually made it that winnable.  Plus, I'm thinking about what may help you get more guesses

Whoa, isn't  this much harder than winning some lottery number. The numbers for someone to get right is about 0.5%

I had tried my luck on lottery and half of time I don't get even 1 number right but half of  the time I do.

rcarter2 : First off I don't know when the hint was posted but I would assume at the beginning. So the hint was that at least 1 digit was divisible by 2. If he included 0 and we assume he didn't mean the first one as that would cut the choices too low for it to be a contest (I'm not saying the first one could be, I am saying it is unverified.) then the odds of guessing correctly would be 11000 or .001%.

kirbmanboggle : Sorry, but you didn't get them right. But nice guesses, but if you want to do better in the future, read the clue in the first post! (at least one digit is divisible by two!).  The clue tells you that 173, 1, and 777 are not the number.
