Yep, Nintendo finally gave in and are remaking Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, which were originally for the GameBoy Advance, and are both available here.

Fans have been asking for this for years, myself included, so for it to actually happen is pretty monumentous. Nintendo put out a small tease trailer, which tells us absolutely nothing about the game, except what it's box arts look like. The game is getting releases November of this year.

I'm legit SO excited for there games. I like the fact that the trailer was quote on quote useless to get information out of. It'll all be a big surprise. 

Let's raise some questions:

-Will the starters be the hoenn ones again?
-Will it be a new region, as in the description it says 'explore a new world'?
-Will there be new pokemon?

FunnyFurret : If it was a different region, it wouldn't be Sapphire and Ruby. Now I have a little speculation that these might not be remakes and might in fact be sequels. Also, you're looking at MegaGroudon and MegaKyogre.

Looking at Kyogre and Groudon, I think they'll get Mega Evolutions. The same for Sceptile and Swampert. It wouldn't be fair if only Blaziken as a starter has Mega Evolution. If they all have it, it would be fair.

The term Spectacular New World in one of the articles I read is what cuaght me a bit off guard. Maybe they will do something like what they did with Gold. Maybe play in Hoenn but then play in another region afterwards, or maybe like Black and White 2 where they add, delete, and change most of the region.

Wow, I never thought this would happen! I hope we get mega evolutions for Sceptile and Swampert, as TornadoMudkip said, it would only be fair. I can't wait to also see what Hoenn will look like in X and Y graphics, if it will be like that, or go back to the formula of 1st-5th Generation games.

I was expecting this after black and white, but I guess since the 3ds came out there decide to hold it off for a while and made black and white 2. Still excited for it, Ruby was the first Pokémon game I was able to understand how the game works. Pokémon Blue was my first game, but I wasn't able to complete the game  because I never understand HMs. 

I guess Black and White will remain a very unique game in my book.

There's been a few references in X & Y pointing towards a completely new region possibly making an appearance sometime in the near future, so maybe they're pulling a G/S/HG/SS and there'll be another region in the games along with Hoenn, or maybe there have been some major changes to the Hoenn region, either way it's an interesting phrase that they used.

So... this is all great but I kind of saw this coming. since the release of the DSI and the stopping of the production of the older DS's their was no way for Gen 3 Pokémon to be brought forward, and what perfect timing Nintendo has. they release the remake to hoenn this year, they release the other gen 6 game next year.... Am I going to be the only person who will not be surprised when they re-remake generation one in 2016? to me it makes sense, as it will be the 20 year anniversary of Pokémon..
