Yes, believe it or not, I have this game and I like it, when this game came out, I could tell that Monster High: 13 Wishes was...trying to be a little different, at least if we consider most video games that are geared towards little girls and not-so little girls. The ONLY reason why I'm reviewing this game here it's because I have the Wii version, but the Wii version can't be found in the game room, I've wanted to review this game for weeks, so, I'll do it this way. Considering the fact that this is a movie-based game AND a Monster High game, this game may not receive attention from some people, but...you don't have to be a Monster High fan to enjoy this, I haven't seen a single episode from the web series, so, yeah, I'm not a Monster High fan...anyway, I guess I should say why I like this game, but before...I will say once again that I'm mexican and that I live in Mexico, so, I played this game with (latin) spanish voices, I will consider the music and voices for this review, but NOT the english voices...anyway, let's begin!

Story (7/10): This is a movie-based game, the story is almost the same...in fact, this game ignores all the things that happen in the movie and makes all the main characters collect the mirror shards once again...I haven't seen the movie, but the story says that one girl wants to be popular and she finds a lamp with a genie inside, said genie ''grants her not 3, but 13 wishes!'' however, those wishes have a price...the story lacks originality but it's kind of interesting to see a fictional character from a franchise like Monster High do evil things...I think that the genie (Whisp) wants to rule Monster High...the school, of course...

Difficulty (7/10): For a game geared towards girls, this game can be kind of hard at times, that maze took me some time, and if you aren't fast, you will suffer a lot of damage, the enemies in this game don't have a lot of AI, but that doesn't mean that they don't attack you, if you don't react quickly when an enemy manages to see you, you will suffer damage, sure, you can kill most (if not all) enemies easily right after that, but obviously, you should try to attack them before they attack you, almost all the levels in this game have a decent design, not too easy, not too hard, there are some jumping sections here and there, and you can fall...

Graphics (5/10): This game doesn't show the real capabilites of the Wii, it's not the worst looking Wii game ever, but obviously, the Wii has a lot of games that look way better than this, if you ask me, this looks like a Dreamcast game, maybe Playstation 2 (the Playstation 2 is less powerful than the Gamecube), but not more than that. The water doesn't look TOO bad, I should say, but when you dive into it...you can see a lof of fog...what's this, the Nintendo 64? Well, at least the characters have decent models, the girls don't have a polygonal appearance, I should say.

Addictiveness (8/10): Is this the best movie-based game I have ever played? no, do I like it? yes. This game has 3D levels that are enjoyable, I like how this game has a lot of playable characters, it's hard to believe that each playable character (Draculaura, Clawdeen Wolf etc...) has only one attack, but I can't say that I didn't had fun killing some enemies, the enemies are not the main reason why this game is kind of fun to play, that would be the levels, in all the levels, you collect coins and other items while you progress, and that is fun, I should say that part of the reason why I like this game is the fact that I have played a lot of Sonic the hedgehog games and Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom, in order to get 100% in this game, you have to replay all the levels, you will NEVER collect all the items when you play a level for the first time, however, many Sonic the hedgehog games make you replay the levels once or maybe even more times in order to fully complete the game, some games even make you replay the whole game, so, I think that my liking for this game is kind of given. The controls are decent and responsive, when you are playing as Lagoona Blue, you can dive into the water, the way you dive into the water reminded me of Super Mario Galaxy, you use the Z button, yes, it works really well, if the characters move slowly to you, you can press and hold the Z button if you want, and this game (unlike No More Heroes 2...) lets you move the camera with the D-pad ...however, there is something that blows my mind...this game lacks motion controls...I mean...WHAT? a Wii game that lacks motion controls?! I don't care what everyone else says, I like motion controls, Monster High: 13 Wishes is playable enough, but I don't know why Game Machine Studios ignored motion controls...to be honest, I can't decide which way of playing video games is better (to me, of course), using a controller without any kind of motion controls works really well, but motion controls also work well (most of the time), so, yeah, I like both things...anyway, I can't complain, I mean, the fact that this game lacks motion controls isn't a bad thing per se, but...we are talking about the Wii...lastly, there are a few surprises, this game has a few sections where you slide and collect coins (a la Super Mario 64...almost), and I also like the part where you dodge columns while you fly on a carpet.

Depth (7/10): This game is short, but if you want to get 100%, you will have to play this game for some time, this game doesn't have short levels, in fact, some may last 18 minutes or more.

Sound (8/10): The voice acting is the main reason why I'm giving this category a high score, this is one of the few, I repeat, FEW, video games that I have played that has latin spanish voice acting, and the voice acting is good...for the most part. it's hard to believe that the person who voiced Clawdeen Wolf is the same person who does the latin spanish voice of Twilight Sparkle, the girls have great voices, they sound like teenagers, maybe young adults, and that's how it should be...everything was great...then, Draculaura appeared...she has a MEDIOCRE voice, she...she doesn't sound like a teenager, she sounds like a little girl, when she attacks and says ''toma eso'' (''take that!''), I feel rage inside, her voice MAY not be annoying, but it doesn't fit her, however, Draculaura is the most childish character in this game, so, I can't complain a lot, she has that kind of voice because of her personality, not her appearance...and the music does not stand out, but I like the music in this game.

There are probably better licensed games out there, but if you are looking for a decent game based on a movie, play this game, but the truth is...there is (so far) only one movie-based game that I don't like, and this is not that game.
