I've been trying to find metroid, or super metroid map editors and I found and tried metedit and editroid, both were incredibly bad and had nowhere I could go to learn how to use them. I tried searching them on google and looked through dozens of forum posts about them but found nothing of any use what so ever. Then, I tried S.M.I.L.E for super metroid but it won't read the .smc file for super metroid and I can't find the game as another file type anywhere... Sooooo I'm stuck with a run time ''76'' error ALL the time.

Does anyone who does edits of either of these two games know what I could do to get these to work AT ALL?

I figured it out.

If you want to get SMILE working, in the smilefiles folder, create a folder called "plugins"

That should work.

Let me know what happens.

I've never used Smile, so this is probably a dumb question: Does it matter if the rom is headered or not for smile to read it?

Also, I can provide an .sfc of super metroid if smile only reads those intead of .smc.
