Shiri : My computer used to have Windows XP but since Microsoft discontinued support for it, we switched my computer to have Windows 7.

I often have trouble deciding between the 2 which one I like better. Right now I'm also leaning toward Windows 7.

Windows 7, because it is easier to use. I am still adjusting to windows 8, and learning how to use it. Because I have used windows 7 for years and I never had anything new beyond that to use. I even heard that windows 10 the newest one is not good to use. Which is the reason why I don't try anything new.

I liked XP and 2000. XP was easy to use and 2000 is very stable.

Let us see how bad Windows 10 will suck.

Oldschool777 : I'm hoping Windows 10 is much better than Windows 8. I've never liked Windows 8.

Eniitan : Windows XP is an older version of Windows. From my experience, it's pretty simple and I really like the layout and the theme of it. Also, it has a cool voice program called Microsoft Sam. It can be really funny at times.

Well,Pacman,I don't think Microsoft can do worse than Windows 8,Vista,or ME (Millennium Edition). I think the people that made Windows 8 should be beaten.

Tie between Windows 7, and 8.1 both are absolutely fantastic. 7 has a UI that is extremely easy to grasp as well as just looking nice. Where would we be without the taskbar?

Anything besides windows 8.1

Seriously, the user interface on this operating system is suckish.

It slows down, takes a whlie to get used to, and on some ocassions It freezes up my computer.

I'll gladly take windows 7, xp, or even vista.

SuperCrash64 : I agree. Even though I don't like Vista that much I'll take it over Windows 8/8.1. It freezes up your computer? That's ridiculous. I've never heard of a user interface making a computer go as far as freeze before.

If my operating system caused that I would probably ask my parents if I could have a different OS. If they said no, oh well I still have my cell phone for convenient apps and internet navigation.

I like Windows XP (with Service Pack 3) a lot because it was an operating system which could take a lot of abuse before it started having issues and left a legacy long after newer Windows operating systems were introduced. It also set the bar in quality for operating systems to come. Windows XP had many features added to it which weren't present in previous Windows operating systems.

Windows 7 is also good for many reasons why XP was so great, as it made using a PC, even for first time users, very easy to do. I think it was a step down from Vista in the terms of appearance, but it still looks very nice. It improved on and fixed many of the issues that Vista had.

Windows 10 is really good, as well. I like how they integrated other Microsoft products, like Windows Phone and Xbox One.

Eniitan : XP and 7 are similar. I believe after the catastrophe of Vista, 7 was supposed to be more like XP but a bit more...modernized for lack of a better term. BTW, I love your new avatar. :3

My personal favorite, after using it for a while now is Windows 10. There are some minor annoyances with permissions, but they do make sense.
What I like most about it, and it's kinda dumb...I have a taskbar on all my monitors. :p

I think I've posted in here previously, stating that I preferred Windows 7 or 8... but after a while of using Windows 10, I have to say it is really amazing, especially considering that I just got a new PC. (The things that lack are the lack of a decent pre-installed media player though...

Eniitan : It's been a while since you posted here, so you could have gotten a grip around windows 8 by now. But if you haven't, I recommend Classic Shell. You can find it here: http://www.classicshell.net/

By using this, you can get back the old windows 7 start button. You can also use it to make the new explorer look like the old one, but you decide if you want that. It's not very complicated to use!

Eniitan : Actually, many Twitter users now say that most of The early problems have been solved and they now love Windows 10 - my husband does. Right now I am still satisfied with Windows 8.1; I will probably change operating systems when I change computers.

I'd go with XP and 7 anyday, I refuse to ever go to 8, 8.1 or 10. Mainly because of the awful UI and the computer specs needed as all my PCs are designed for XP. I am aware that XP can be a bit unstable as it is so ancient as it had to be dropped from support. It is so simple and a large percent of people still use XP despite the limitations it has compared to more modern OS.

When it comes to errors though, 7 may be able to deal with errors that XP can't get through with. But real problem is that while I will always use XP, if you need to repair the OS through the advanced boot using F8, you are so out of luck. If you have a BSOD caused by corrupt registry, either get your long lost installation discs out or google a solution on another PC or on a mobile device.

Windows 7 has a built in repair option on advanced boot which helps them but not XP.

Anyways, XP and 7, they are both pretty similar, but they work so good and have a simple and nice UI, compared to 8 and 10.

Stevie 764 : I agree. Windows XP and 7 are the only operating systems I've ever used, but after seeing other operating systems I know I'd still prefer them. I've barely ever had any issues with Windows 7 and I've had a few issues with XP, but they weren't that bad. Both of them have been easy for me to use ever since I started learning how to use them.

I use Windows 7. I've thought about getting Windows 10, but after hearing about the problems that people have encountered with Windows 10, I'm sticking with 7. I don't feel like it's necessary for me to change either, because it's not like I'm having issues or nothing.

gamerforlifeforever2 : I partially agree with you. I want to get Windows 10 someday, but for now I'd rather stick with Windows 7. By the time I'm able to get a computer/laptop with Windows 10 it would probably be pretty different with all the updates it'll go through.

I'm not having issues with Windows 7 either
