Singelli : I used to visit it often, but not as much anymore.  I should be walking there more often.  I mean, it's just down the road.  Plus I'd get some exercise  .  And yeah, we totally need to talk more.
On a side note, 1 Billion views soon!  You gonna meet us in chat?  To be fair, it likely won't happen til' around midnight.

Singelli : Hm... tonight was very 'meat and potatos'. I suppose horseradish would be the 'oddest' thing, seeing as the rest was very traditional.

You still have to make those bean tacos with guacamole.

Welcome back! Hopefully, we'll see more of you in the future. I've recently moved to Green bay & loving every minute of it up here. One of my favorite places to go is the free wildlife sanctuary that's a few blocks from here. It's got some pretty views & I'm anxious to see what they look like in the spring.

tgags123 :  I wouldn't say I'm one of the biggest contributors.  It just feels that way because I did so much in so little time. After all, this site has been around for nearly ten years... there's no way I could be one of the biggest in such a short time. It's all about perspective.

As for your grandmother.. that is just.... AMAZING!  Do you all ever tease her and ask her what her trick is?  I hope I can be in that good of health when I'm that old (God willing I reach 100).

A user of this :  Sometimes I wish I could nap in my classroom. XD

supernerd117 :  Awww, I didn't really know there was going to be a chat party, or I definitely would have thought about it! I've been trying to take better care of myself by going to bed on time and eating less and healthier though.  I was tempted to have an extra cookie and a mountain dew last night, so if I had known about the chat thing, I likely would have. XD  What a shame I missed something so monumental!!!

What was the last book you checked out from there?

Light Knight :  *gasps* I do!  Although I'm going to have to wait awhile.  Jason got fired in January and we're desperately struggling with money right now. Our budget for food this month is $20 a week.  (And Jason eats quite a bit... )  I'm looking forward to the time God blesses me with more stable finances.

Surgiac : Oh yay!  I'm so happy to hear from you. Now I just wish I could hear that beautiful voice again. XD  I'm trying to make myself come around at LEAST once a day for now, but as time winds closer to May, I'm going to get busier and busier.  I'm planning on some big changes as well (possibly moving), so all of that is going to put a strain on how much free time I have.

As for Green Bay, I believe we (briefly) discussed that last time we talked, but I'm not sure.  The wildlife sanctuary sounds phenomenal. I wish we had one closer to attend.  If you're that close to it though, I don't doubt that you have some amazing views!  I'm a bit jealous!

How many times have you visited the sanctuary?  What was the coolest thing you saw?

Singelli : I wasn't able to get out much this winter because of the snow but my mother & I have plans to see it in the next couple of days since the snow is starting to melt. I've been to the sanctuary quite a few times. They have some trails to walk that makes for some decent exercise. I've seen quite a few cool things. They have some wolves, does, a cougar, a pair of bald eagles, plenty of geese(except during winter) & ducks, 1 snake and a bunch of other animals & birds. They also have a mini waterfall that the ducks & geese like to hang out by. The colors were gorgeous in the fall so I'm really anxious to see it in the spring.

Singelli : I've never checked out a book for myself at our library except those I've reserved.  The last one I reserved was The Mark of Athena, one of the latest "Percy Jackson & Co." books.  They're actually pretty well written, and the ending was great.

Mild spoiler: My favorite moment in the series is when the gang encounters a Sphinx with what is essentially a scantron machine.

I'll respond to the new posts in a bit.  In the meantime, I want to share with you guys some of my work while I was out of the loop. I wanted to post it in my Little Crochet thread, but I'll have to get someone to re-open it for me.

mrfe :
vanelan :
Can one of you guys open this thread for me pretty, pretty please?  Thaaaaaank you!!!!

I made one of these for me, and one for Krizel (aka Mistress). The blue one is Krizel's because her favorite color is blue, and the brown one is mine.  They have bows on opposing side of their heads so that they are a 'matching' set, representing our friendship.

Each one took TEN hours to complete! I have never made anything like this in my life, so the blue one was my first attempt, and the brown, my second.  This is why the blue one is a little less aptly made.  She's softer, and not sewn well.

I had to use a shirt I never wear for the fabric's I sewed into the animals, and I also stole the beads and bows from some clothing.  The bead for the brown bunny is actually from my wedding dress. XD

Which one is your favorite?

Then I got bored and wanted to experiment with a few things, so I made this little fella. Sorry he's on a sheet of toilet paper... but he showed up really nicely against that.  I loved the way he turned out though, so I went outside, whittled a twig down, and created a little accessory...

This should also give you an idea of their size.

Finally, I crocheted a blanket for my nephew!  Unfortunately, I only got a snapshot of the unfinished version, with my hand to show the size.

I was forced to by her so she can post again

Looks really nice. You did a nice job on the blue bunny since it's your first attempt. Brown one is definitely better since you know how to do it but the blue has more meaning and took you effort to make, actually both.

All right then, let us begin.

What is your favorite food?
What is your favorite color?
How was your last 30 days?
What are you going to be doing for the next 10 years?
Are you bored?
Are you happy?
Have you ever had Beef Pot Pie?
All right then, let us begin.

I'm glad that your life is going better and that you are feeling better. I know all too well the up's and downs of life.

That being said, I'm sure you have heard the saying "actions speak louder than words"

Good luck with your future endeavors.

Singelli : You may not have responded to my welcome post, but by all means YOU were the first one to welcome me here (even if it was over a misunderstanding )
Through three or four messages, you made me realize that I wanted to be here and, while I haven't played some major role, I would like that think I bring some life to the hangman games.
I won't pretend to know what you mean or how you feel, but I'd be lying to say that I haven't added you (and others) to my prayer list since coming here. But based on the way you describe yourself, it does show. Words are funny like that - they are only part of the message, but they give a chance to think it through in ways that may never otherwise be verbally said. For me, little was as comforting on here as your "God bless," so I hope this message returns the favor:

God bless you and your situation, whatever it may be.

Singelli :   My couple last weeks has been very good. I'm slowly bringing up my College Algebra grade up (75 now), I went to a nearby school and performed in a Solo & Ensemble contest where I had a trumpet solo, a duet with this REALLY awesome guy ( ) and a section ensemble called Brass Choir. Out of 5 (with 5 being the worst) I got a 2, a 2, and a 1. At first my original duet partner was a girl, but then she got ineligible because of her asthma. Then yesterday, I performed with the school's jazz band with the pieces I told you about. Even though we were the exhibition group it was still so awesome. The set up is really fun because I get to stand next to the really awesome guy mentioned above. Our show choir performed as well as the concert choir. The latter played an a capella song which is a song where no instruments are used. The really awesome guy also ordered all the jazz banders (even the girls) light up ties. Those are SO cool. Everyone loves them. The other schools said they were awesome too.And now as I write this, it is currently Spring Break here in IL. Whoo-Hooo!!!

Singelli :  Hi.  Pleased to meet you ;p I'm "SoL@R".  Husband and father of 1 (+2 in 7 weeks!).  I've been a Vizzed member for 376 days.  The last 75 days I've been quite...quiet here on Vizzed.  I suppose I'm just "selective" when it comes to posting.  I've just been slightly busy defending the Faith and "fighting" off the likes of warmaker and rcarter2 in CC  where (/insert Brit accent) we've been missing you quite a bit I must say, darling.
Life outside of Vizzed has been quiet for me as well.  Especially in the work place.  No production due to upgrades and all that.  Suppose it's the calm before the storm.  Shirt business kinda also went volume down, but not mute!  We were not satisfied with the printer so now we're back a few squares, but it's all good.  God has really blessed us these last few months with the twins being on the way and all that.  My wife looks beaaautiffuullll!  just by the way.  The wait is almost over - kinda scary but excited.  Oh yeah, don't now if I mentioned this before, but it's definitely a boy and a girl.  We have a name for the girl since day 1, but we can't for the life of us think of a name for the little guy that says, "Oooh yeah!  I love it!"  Suggestions would be welcome from all
By the bye, I have been keeping my eye on the prayer requests and have been seriously praying for your last request.  Would like to know how it goes if you don't mind.
Really glad you're back and to see the bubbles in your posts again

whewee!  It seems like I have a lot of updating to do on this thread.

Okay, a few things that happened to me when I disappeared off the face of vizzed:

- Due to the incident in January (which I do not wish to rehash), my husband tried to stay home and make sure I was alright... and he got fired. This put us in a very tough spot financially because we had moved into a more expensive place and had neglected to pay two bills by accident in December.  (December is the toughest month for teachers.)  I've been eating mainly Ramen since then, but there's some good news!  My husband got a new job last Friday, and he started on Monday! In a month or so, we should be JUST caught up, and from there, hopefully we can start to save!  In any case, I'm hoping this will allow me to once more contribute to vizzed and its members.

- I went to see an army recruiter and found out that (due to my PCOS), I can never join any branch of the military as long as I live. This was heartbreaking, but after giving it some thought, I feel this to be a blessing. I think God has bigger and better things in store for me, and that God gave me the gift of teaching so that I would use it.. not cast it aside when things get rough.

- Jason and I added a new member to our family in the way of a free cat.  He was named 'Cat' when we got him and despite our attempts to rename him, he's simply too attached.  Ironically, he has the appetite and personality of a dog. He never leaves the presence of either me or Jason and insists on complete attention constantly. This has pushed Dorito away slightly, but Dorito tends to be less cuddly when there are other cats around, so I'm sure things are alright.   Cat likes to growl as he eats, resulting in a hilarious 'nom nom nom!' effect, which I'm going to need to record and share with you all some day.

Here are some pictures.  He's a complete attention hog as you can see by the second picture. I swear, he's almost permanently attached to my arms while I'm at my computer.

- Finally, and I saved the best news for last, my real flesh and blood family was extended with the arrival of my twin's newborn son!  She and he both pulled through, and for the first time in six years, my immediate family was under the same roof.  He was eleven days old when we all got to hold him, and my gosh was he tiny!  I'm so.... so happy at the thought of a baby in my twin's arms, and I only wish I could be more involved! I've tried texting her multiple times and asking if I can visit or talk to her.... but alas... she does not respond to me.  It seems as though she has gone back to ignoring me, but I will still continue to remind her of my love for her. Perhaps some day she will let me be a part of my nephew's life.

Hopefully, posting a picture of the baby isn't a bad thing... he can't be identified, being so young, can he?  If someone thinks I should remove the picture, please let me know!

Thank all of you who prayed for his safe delivery!  I hope he and his mother continue to thrive and that they always find happiness!

zanderlex : What a wonderful array of questions. XD If I answer them all, you have to answer them as well!

What is your favorite food? If I were to name a specific dish, nothing gets me more excited than my mother's home-made burritos. I probably haven't had one made by her since I was 15 or 16, but I'll never forget them. In general.... Indian food is my favorite.

What is your favorite color? Everyone knows this! Where's the challenge?

How was your last 30 days? My last 30 days? Well.. huh.. honestly.... they've been looking up. I'm climbing out of a rut spurred by a very bad incident, but it feels great to move away from it.

What are you going to be doing for the next 10 years? I will be grading papers.

Are you bored? Not currently, not at all. How could I be while answering these questions?

Are you happy? At this moment, I am indeed... very, very happy. Thanks for asking!

Have you ever had Beef Pot Pie? I'm not really sure. If a chicken pot pie cooked in a microwave counts, then perhaps?

huygeb : I have to say that your post greatly touched and surprised me. I wasn't expecting such a connection from someone I hardly know, and when I read your post, it put a huge smile on my face. I don't remember the misunderstanding that you've referred to, but I never knew a couple of words could spark such a reaction or outcome. I definitely felt blessed by not only your compassion, but your incentive to post here and return that which was least expected. I hope we can talk more and get to know each other. I'm pretty bogged until June, but I'm trying to at least keep on top of things.

Mia03 :  I'm so proud of you for bringing your grade up and all your other accomplishments! It must be so amazing to know that you can do so well, and still have time for leisure like vizzed! I wish half of my students could balance their work and activities as well as you seem to. If they did, I'm sure they'd have much higher grades than they currently do. XD

Do you have any pictures of those light up ties? Now that's something I'd love to see!

It sounds like you're doing a fabulous job in the band! You're so accomplished! Have you played any more solos or concerts since your last post? What's been your favorite song as of late?

SoL@R :  I'm so, so, so happy to hear from you! How is the pregnancy going?! My goodness, but I can't imagine how exciting it must be! I know you've had a child before, but I imagine there's still 'newness' to it!  Especially having twins! What name did you pick for the girl? I probably wouldn't be the best to ask advice for names from. I tend to pick atypical names.

As for the Christian threads... don't you fear. I'll get back to them eventually. They simply deserve more time than I have right now. I think play4fun is in the same predicament. Who knew teaching was such a time consumer!

Thank you so much for your reassurance on your prayers too. The baby and mother are healthy and kicking! I guess the only thing to do now, is pray that my twin's heart softens and that she lets us be involved in her child's life...

Be blessed! ?What moment had you laughing this week?

Singelli : Huh... If I have to answer them also, I might as well put more on the table.
