Making short review about my first Pokémon play I played, I try my best to remember what kind of game it was, because it's been years I last played this game.

GRAPHICS:  7

Well I think the graphics are pretty good for game boy game and I really liked how all those Pokémon's look like. One of my favorites are Pidgeotto because it looks like a fat pigeon : D And there are lot of other cool and pretty funny looking sprite's in this game, and in my opinion it is a good thing that not all of them are so "perfectly" made. And the Cities/towns looks pretty nice and organized so you don't get lost when your in the city..... And about the caves, they look pretty dull to me, there aren't much anything interesting..... Just rocks and stony walls, but I guess that's what the caves are all about dark and dull. Anyways... Mainly I liked the graphics and there wasn't really anything that annoyed me about it, or maybe those caves because they were so boring looking....

SOUND: 8

Alright so about the sounds, I remember one sound that was so annoying I HAD to turn the volume to zero.... And it was when your Pokémon's HP dropped -30%? And it started to do that annoying peeping sound...... But that was If I remember right the only annoying sound in the whole game... The music's were great I loved them, especially the gym battle theme! It gave me some boost and always put the volume to the maximum when I faced one of the leaders. And there was this spooky Lavender town theme that gave me the creeps, but still liked it.  So overall the sounds and music's are pretty good compared to other game boy games, don't really know what else to say about this so I just move on.

ADDICTIVENESS: 9

This game was reaaally addictive when I was a young boy and I think it still can be for some of the newer generation kids, even thou I think most of them like to play much newer Pokémon games like black and white or X and Y, but those who respect or like much older generation games I recommend to play this or blue does not really matter much anyway, different Pokémon's but still the same story... Well about the addictiveness when you start to play something that you really like, example this Pokémon Red it is very hard to stop playing it because you want to know what comes next and what kind of Pokémon's are lurking in the grass or in the next cave you find etc. etc...... Guess that's about all, let's get going.

STORY: 9

The story started at the little town called Pallet Town, there lived two 10? 13? Year old kids who wanted to became a Pokémon trainers and in the same village there lived this old man called Professor Oak who had few extra Pokémon's what were suitable for a beginner trainer, so these kids picked one Pokémon and started the adventure to became the nest Pokémon Master... Well you play obviously as one of the kids called Red (or Ash if you like...) and the other kid (your rival) is called Blue (Or Gary.). Your rival comes sometimes to challenge you to the Pokémon battles to test your and maybe his own skills... Yeah yeah enough about that.... Well anyways the story is quite interesting and there wasn't really a problem to think what the heck I have to do now if you just follow the story... So no need to worry that you get stuck in anywhere, but if you do I bet it wont take long to figure out what you have to do next... I think that's about all.. All most all, but let's keep this train going......

DEPTH: 8

Alrighty then, depth depth.. Ummm. Well there are some side quests you might want to do like catching the 3 legendary birds or this one badass called Mewtwo. And of course if you want to catch all 150 (not sure you can catch Mew in this, I never haven't) it gives you many hours of more gaming time.... If you just like to follow the story and finish the game fast, I believe it will take something about 15-20hours? Not really sure because I don't like speed running the games (if that's even the right term about it..) Almost forgot the Safari Zone. It is good place to catch some rare Pokémon's... So mainly this game has lot of offer like the game corner where you can earn some gold and buy new Pokémon's or TM (technical machines, with those you can teach new moves to your Pokémon's... just saying this if someone has not played these games before).... That's enough I'm done.

DIFFICULT: 8

In my opinion this game was pretty hard when I played it first time, there was not so many fancy moves and TM's like they have in the newer generations, and if I remember correctly each Pokémon learned from 1-10 moves so there was not really so many choices how you wanted to build your Pokémon's moves. You need to train your Pokémon's if you want to beat the gym leaders, they gave me a hard time. Especially the psychic girl from Saffron city? And the Pokémon league is pretty hard too, had to try it several times before I finished it, Maybe I should play this game again and see if it is still so hard as I can remember.... There were some hard trainers too in the wilds and caves too that can be pretty hard to beat, but none of them were really too hard to beat.... And the wild Pokémon's are pretty easy too so there should be no problem if you want to catch them, exception is of course the Safari Zone where you can't hurt them and you have to throw them some food or mud to keep em busy, It wasn't easy to catch dratini in that lousy lake. Well enough about that....

OVERALL: 8.1

Ok so the overall seems to be 8.1, that's pretty good. And seems like this review was not so short that I was expecting it to be. So good game, good times and recommend it to every one who likes to play Pokémon games or just these retro games where you catch and beat your enemies like there is no tomorrow. Guess that's it, Good day or good night. Peace and love to you all who bothered to read this nonsense.
