I know a couple of you have posted a review and suddenly, your review just vanished out of thin air, but you still got your post and word count for that review, but you don't see the review you have worked hard on, well, this thread will tell you on what this bug is and what you can do so you don't get upset after your review or guide just disappeared like that, especially all the hard work you put onto this review.

Some people has faced this fate before (both me and Eirinn have faced this dilemma before and I'm sure a lot more has), I have talked to all 3 Admins (Davideo7, Geeogree, & tRIUNE) on what causes this to happen, and they have said that there is some kind of bug or glitch that happens that not even David can fix, when you post long posts like in the Game Review and the Game Guide forums. The only solution that you can do regarding to this is to open up a word document of some sorts so you can be able to paste your review in case something like this does happen so that way, you don't loose every bit of hard work on your posts although your post count and word content still counts, but no words shows up.

So, the best solution you can do to avoid this issue is to make the review in like a Word Document (or a WordPad or even a NotePad will work), so that way, you won't be able to loose all of your hard work on your review (all you have to do is to first, edited that post (where all the words are gone), then copy that review from the word document and post it onto that review and that's it). There isn't anyway David can fix this issue at this moment, so this is the only solution that you can do though.

This will work with walkthroughs great, but it doesn't work for reviews sadly. I tried this once, but you can't post a review for the same game twice. There is one possible solution, namely having the game's ID removed and trashing the thread. However, I've yet to get clearance on that from David or an Admin or Global, and I would hate to try it if it were a bad idea.

Eirinn : Yeah, ever since I've made that Tetris review, I have been doing my review on a word document, and this has happened again in the Mario Kart Wii review, but I had it on a word document and I have edited the post and put it onto there, so I was all good.

It let you edit it in?? Mine won't. : Man, that makes it even more frustrating. lol

Thank you for posting this here! I was devastated when I lost my GBA Tetris review, so hopefully now this won't happen to others.

I found Google Docs to be highly effective, since it automatically saves and you can easily access your review from any computer.

Mine for example.

What if this glitch happens around 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm? 

mohammedroxx3 : In one of the help threads, the admins said that this happens if you keep your new reply page open for too long. It's some sort of safety measure.

I'm not sure about the exact time, but I think that if the window is open for more than 4 hours, this happens.

That's why it's better to write it up else where and copy/paste/format in the browser.

EideticMemory : I know. But what I'm talking about is that when this happened to you and Eirinn, it was around 9:00 pm - 9:30 pm server time in the day. 

EideticMemory : Perhaps, but I always write mine offline first, then paste them into the field. So I usually have it done in about ten minutes or less (I proofread after pasting).

mohammedroxx3 : I just checked, and oddly the first review this happened to me on was posted at 9:32 PM...it is a bit coincidental at the very least. Interesting find, man.

It would probably be a good idea to try and let everybody know about this.  Just make it known to everyone, not just reviewers that if they are making long posts it might be a good idea to use a  word processor program.  I see people complaining about this all the time and it irks me cuz it is like common just paste the thing in.  Whew a little rant.

this has never happened to me, but im glad I still read it. this is serious unless you have a backup. (which is approx. 42% of all people on vizzed at this given second.)

Sorry to necropost but this crap just happened to me. Typed a 1400+ game review and all I got was damn blank reply yet it shows that my words were still there.
