Is Mega Man 4 for the NES giving you trouble? Do you feel aggravated over there robot Masters. Well in this guide I'm going to be covering each Robot Master and the fortress stages. I do have an analysis system that I use on a scale 1-10
1-2 Easy
3 slightly difficulty
4-5 moderate difficulty
6-7 difficult
8-10 very difficult

I generally fight the robot masters in this order
Toad Man
Bright Man
Pharaoh Man
Ring Man
Dust Man
Skull Man
Dive Man
Drill Man.
So lets begin the guide

Toad Man Stage (difficulty 3/10)
The stage starts off with rain in the background but beware this rain has wind in it which will push you back. The only two enemies in the first room are the umbrella enemies and the bird enemies. They are pretty easy to take out with a charged buster. Time your jumps carefully on the platform remember the wind pushes you back so remember that. Next, you fall through a shaft and land in a water current. The current has a current to it so it will send you along to stop it just jump. Also just charge your buster and take out the rat enemies that are also in the current.  There are a couple of bubble bombs that will drop from the ceiling too. Fall down another shaft and you have to take on the first robotic snail. The snail weak spot is the eyes so just shoot them to take the snail out. Then you go through another current room just like the one before and are taken to the second snail. However, the second snail is a little bit tougher because of the current so make sure to avoid the current when fighting the second snail. Now comes an annoying part of this stage you have platforms and there is water underneath whatever you do do not get knocked into the water because of the death spikes.  Simply shoot the robotic fish as they try to knock you into the spikes. Now you have reached Toad Man. Toad Man (difficulty 1 out of 10) Toad man is so easy it is not even funny. Do not charge and fire at him it just gives him a chance to use his rain flush. What you want to do is let him jump fire with regular shots he will jump slide if needed and repeat. You can lock him in a patter were after 2 shots he will jump over you he goes down quickly. I give the stage a 3 out of 10 rating mainly because of wind driven rain and the current it can be easy to miss a platform or get pushed into the pit. Toad man is so easy that there really isn't much to say about that.

Bright Man Stage (Difficulty 7/10)
The Bright Man stage is several steps up on difficulty levels than Toad Man. The first two enemies you will meet are the flying light bulb enemies shoot them the stage goes dark. The second are green walking enemies shoot them they release a firework which turns the lights back on. Now you have a long floor of spikes and a totem pole. Shoot the totem pole take it out and then jump on the grasshoppers they will guide you safely over the spikes. Next climb a few ladders and take out the top enemies. Now after a few rooms of those you will notice a ladder pointing down. You can go down there if you want and jump on platforms that move, your reward at the end is an Energy Tank. However it takes the Rush Coil to get back so yeah only go down there if you want the Energy Tank.  Now you have the second floor of spikes just use the grasshoppers to get across like you did before. Now you have what is the hardest part in the stage. You have moving platforms red ones will fall off their tracks green goes back and forth. To make matters worse you have the light bulb enemies so your going to have to shoot them and do your best to jump onto the next platform.  The gate to Bright Man is after the last platform the lights will come back on. Bright Man (8/10) Bright Man likes to get a lot of cheap shots in it is hard to tell when he is going to jump or use his flash stopper. Even with his weakness the rain flush he still finds a way to get a cheap hit. So the best think to do is use Rain Flush to turn off his lights no pun intended . I give the stage a good rating of 7 out of 10. With all the light bulb enemies it is so easy to get the lights turned out and not see were you are jumping too. Then there is the moving platform room which has the light bulb enemies. That can be a pain as it is again easy to get hit by the light enemies or just miss the platform. Bright Man gets an 8 out of 10 because he likes to get lots of cheap hits in even with his weakness.

Pharaoh Man Stage (difficulty rating 7 out of 10 )
Now for a fast paced stage with awesome music. The first think you will notice is this is a desert stage with sand. Jump in and out of the sand do not stand still or you will sink into the pit. The sand Scorpions can pop up out of no where do not bother shooting them because shoot one another one comes back just avoid them. The Second enemy is a desert fly that is dropping bullets on you again just ignore. You will see a wide gap if you want the Balloon adapter use Rush Coil and clear the pit go across more sand and you will see the adapter pick it up (just touch it). Now if you got the balloon adapter you will be taken to the checkpoint of the game. If you did not and went down the shaft. you will go to the next room. The rooms after that have the bat enemies there easy to kill. There is a lot of mummy enemies that pop up out of the walls just shoot them with a charged shot. At the end before the check way point you can grab an Energy Tank. Now as you past the checkpoint.  You have the first room of platforms jump on them to get across the spikes if they hit a wall they disappear so make sure you are not in danger of landing on the spikes. You will also have to take out mummy enemies that pop out from the walls. The second room has the mummies, bats and more platforms. Now you have reached Pharaoh Man. Pharaoh Man has two ratings (no weapons 10/10 with his weakness 3 out of 10). If your a guy like me who wants a challenge and want to fight him with the buster only than be prepared for a battle. Pharaoh man closes in on your fast, jumps around real fast, in the meant time throwing pharaoh shots at you or sending waves of energy. He is very tricky to dodge so you may need the Energy Tank if your doing it the hard way.  Now if you want to make things easy on yourself. Use Bright Man's weapon but be sure he is on the floor. When he lands on the floor use Bright Man's weapon keep using it and firing and he goes down. The hard part is getting him on the floor to use that weapon. You will get a powerful weapon after winning the battle pharaoh shot. Pharaoh shot can be charged up hold down the fire button you will get a big ball of energy over Mega Mans head use that. I give the Pharaoh Man stage a good 7 out of 10 mainly for enemy placement. It is so easy to get knocked down into the sand by the sand scorpions. It is also easy to get hit by the bats, bug copters and the mummies while on the platforms causing you to land on spikes. The platforms are fragile if they hit something they are gone. Pharaoh man can either be a nightmare if you want to fight him the challenging way or he can be slightly difficult if you want to use his weakness.

Ring Man (Stage difficulty 8/10)
Now for one of the most annoying stages in the game. First of all you notice a multiple colored bridge one step on that and it disappears for a second before coming back. Second there is a cannon on the wall. I highly recommend taking the cannons on the walls out they will shoot you and try to knock you down. There are several ladders with the multiple colored platforms, along with cannons and ring enemies. So take them out and climb the ladders. After the top you have to face a hippo that sets on platforms taking the platform out is useless because a new one rises up though if your quick you can bring him down. What you want to do is use Bright Man's weapon it will stop the hippo's missiles and keep the platforms from coming back allowing you to take out the hippo. Now you will have more of them strange platforms the first room had and the ring enemies. The challenge now is they are over death spikes. So quickly jump on and onto the next one. Next, you have an enemy inside several rings just fire when he releases them, not he does it quickly and after you destroy the boss he will launch his rings at you to get one last hit), After that you have another hippo to deal with. A bigger room with golden platforms are there instead of multiple colored ones guess what? The gold platforms still work the same way quickly jump on and off of them. Now you may notice a ladder up there if you use Rush Coil Eddie will be there to hand you an item that is optional.  You then fall down a shaft and have to face the multiple ring enemy again just deal with him the same way. Also you have a room with the same platforms. Finally you have reached Ring Man. Ring Man (difficulty rating 5/10). Ring Man is fast and can be a bit jumpy as well as tossing rings at you. However, he leaves himself open to attacks so pelt him with pharaoh shots for a lot of damage. If Ring Man is giving you a problem charge up the Pharaoh shot and hit him with it. I give the Ring Man stage a good rating of 8/10. There is a lot going on in this stage, the disappearing platforms having to dodge wall cannons, ring enemies and not landing on spikes. Then there is the two hippos and two ring layer enemies to deal with. This stage had a lot going on due to enemy placement and unsafe platforms. Ring Man gets a moderate rating. He is fast and can fire rings at you. But here is the thing he does leave himself open to attacks.

Dust Man stage ( Rating 5/10)
I think it is time we do some spring cleaning and get rid of the dust . The first enemy you meet comes up out of the pit. In this stage before jumping over any pit jump it will trigger the up and down enemies. Wait to the go back down and then jump or you can take them out and then jump but be quick.  Next you will have a met to deal with. Before the shaft you will have a couple of shield attackers you can only shoot them in the back.  Now you have a big enemy with spikes underneath him just shoot him he goes down quickly. Okay the next room can be tricky. You have forming blocks make sure before jumping on the next one it is fully formed. You also have the bug copters do not let them hang around because they will swarm around you. Take them out with the bust quickly. The forming blocks are also over spikes so again time your jumps carefully. Next you have a compactor that comes down on you and the pathway is blocked. So what you do is take out as many blocks as you can slide back and repeat till you get enough space to slide. Also take out the mets too. Speaking of mets you will climb a ladder and see a met in the center. Trick the met into opening up so you can shoot it, it is one that sits there and sprays shots at you. Guess what after that you have a much longer compactor to deal with. Deal with it the same way you did before, clear, slide, clear again and take out Mets now you have made it to Dust Man. Dust Man (Difficulty rating 3/10). Dust Man is not hard you can use the ring weapon if you want for a quick take down or you can use charged buster shots doesn't matter. He will either jump, try to pull you in with his vacuum (if he does that just slide slide slide). or he will fire his dust crusher. His Dust crusher is the hardest part to dodge because it can hit you and break into smaller parts doing two hits. I give the Dust Man stage a 5/10 I think it is moderate. You have the up and down enemies coming up from the pits to worry about. The platforms are not to bad its just the bug copters. The hardest part in the stage is the compactor rooms due to them being blocked, it is so easy to get crushed. Dust Man is only slightly difficult as the only threat is the dust crusher.

Skull Man's Stage (difficulty rating 3/10)
Skull' Man's stage platforms are shaped like bones. The first enemy you meet is a cannon just take it out. Then you will have screw enemies to take out they are easy to take out. The next room has bats and more cannons in it as well as shield attackers. The next few rooms have oyster looking enemies too I forgot to mention that. Next you climb a ladder and are greeted by eddy. The ladder after Eddie is long the room above if you go right just leads to an Energy Tank if you do not want it go up higher. The next rooms are going to have more enemies you have skeleton joe who throws bones at you, yeah silly  I know, to take him out hit him with a charged shot. Worm like enemies also will drop from the ceiling, they are not that hard to take out but just watch for them. There is another chance with an Energy Tank. Now you have more rooms with the same thing just deal with it like you did before. Now you have Skull Man. Skull Man (difficulty rating 2/10) Skull Man is easy all he tries to do is run at you with his shield up and may fire a few shots. He is easy to dodge take him out quickly with the Dust weapon. I give the Skull man stage a 3/10 the only reason it gets that high is because there are a lot of pits, the enemies in the stage can be quickly taken out so no worry there its just the spaces. Skull Man is easy that is why he gets a 2/10.

Dive Man stage (difficulty Rating 7/10)
Now for the under water stage. Now a few things while you are under water you can jump higher that can be a good thing or bad. The first enemy is the ground buzz saw crawler he is not dangerous as long as you are non on the floor he is on. The second enemy is the robotic fish they are faster in this stage. The Mets in the stage now can swim so they are more of a problem. The Jelly fish are immune to weapons they just move up and down or try to block your path so avoid them. The next room is just a repeat. Now you meet the whale boss he can spit spike balls at you, or fire missiles at you. The Dust weapon will take him out quick but use charged shots you will need the dust weapon latter. After that defeat the room is the same accept with two new threats, sting rays who have small hit boxes and under water mines that if you get a certain length from them will explode.  Now you have the second whale to deal with the same way. you will notice a space in the flooring fall down it and avoid the spikes. If you avoided the spikes you get the wire adapter now you have to fight the whale again. After the whales you have moving blocks with spikes on them carefully jump and slide. You will be taken out of the water for a while to meet Eddie. After Eddie its back into the water again. The rooms have the same thing going on so just avoid and you will be fine. Now to Dive Man. Dive Man (difficulty rating 8/10). Dive Man weakness is the skull weapon however the dust weapon is his second weakness I recommend using the dust weapon because to use the skull weapon you have to get close to him. Dive Man is very fast, he can fire torpedoes at you in a fast rate, as well as charge right into you with little reaction time. The best thing to do is hit with the dust weapon when you can get a shot in. I gave Dive Man's stage a 7 out of 10 mainly because of the water physics, death spikes and enemy placement. It is so easy to get hit several times or land in spikes. Dive Man is a hard boss due to him being fast and being able to fire torpedoes at you. A lot going on in that fight.

Drill Man stage (Difficulty Rating 5/10)
There is really much to say for the first few rooms because they just have motor weapons, bug copters and bats which if you have made it this far you know how to get rid of them. The next few rooms they add cannons again not a problem. It is the final rooms that are a problem. You will see switches on the wall you have to touch them to activate platforms. However you have to pay really attention because the shafts above you are dropping boulders when they fall they break doing extra damage. The flying weapons if they land turn into cannons. So timing is needed to get past this stage. Drill Man (Difficulty rating 7/10). Drill man can be somewhat of a pain because he likes to hide underground. A good rule in this fight is never ever stay in one place at the same time. Using homing missile (Dive Man's weapon when he comes out for extra damage. Also when he is above ground he likes to shoot drill bombs at you and corner you. I give this stage a 5 out of 10 because you  have to activate the platforms and even then it is easy to get hit with a rock and miss. Drill man gets a 7 out of 10 because of his drill bombs, and he likes to pop in and out that can be a problem.

Cossack Stage one. (difficulty rating 4/10)
The snow in this stage really does nothing but slow you down. Go left at the start and there is an Energy Tank hidden in the snow. The next enemies are slinky like enemies and the up and down enemies out of the pits so just take them out and jump. The floor does have ice on it so be careful. Also take out the skeleton joes Now you have more of the same stuff. Now it is time to climb the long ladder. Nothing really special just some screw enemies to take out and a few platforms to jump on at the top.  Use the Balloon weapon on those that you can jump. Now you will see clamps on ladders you want to get the the ladder on the far left.  Now you have the boss room. The boss happens to be a Moth that likes to take out the floor beneath you slowly. Use the Ring weapon to take the Mouth out quickly. Despite taking the floor out he is not to hard of a boss. If anything this stage gets a 4/10 because of the ice and enemy placement not because of the boss.

Cossack Stage Two (difficulty rating 2/10)
This stage just has long ladders with clamps on them, top weapons and a long rush Jet stage. The boss is not hard at all it forms into a squire with platforms in on it, right when it is getting ready to form that is were you get inside it use the platform and blast away with Drill Bombs. This stage does not have a lot going on so it gets a low rating.

Cossack Stage Three (Difficulty rating 4/10)
This stage just scrolls so keep pressing forward and avoid the airborne enemies. The boss at the end is two alien like things that just climb on the walls and shoot at you. Not hard at all just use charged busters to take them out. The only reason I give this stage a 4 out of 10 is because of the airborne enemies and scrolling parts.

Cossack stage  four (Difficulty 4/10)
Okay now for Dr. Cossack. His stage is just a long tunnel of pipes with a few enemies you have already seen so just deal with them and find your way through the pipe maze. Now, Dr. Cossack can be somewhat tricky but not bad. He likes to move over you and try to grab you. If he grabs you your trapped as he will slam you down doing a lot of damage. But he does leave himself open to attacks so blast away with the buster. When he is down to his last 2 bars. Proto Man teleports in with something to say. Proto Man will tell Mega Man how Cossack's daughter was held hostage by Dr. Wily. Dr. Wily appears and threatens to destroy Mega Man and his friends. Cossack now becomes a friend to Mega Man as the truth is revealed. Okay now with the truth revealed Cossack gets a 4 simply because it can be unpredictable when he does the grasp thing.

Wily Stage one (difficulty rating  5/10)
Wily stage one has really only one enemy and that is mets. All kinds of mets will be found in this stage. The under water part has them and death spikes so that bumps up the difficulty. Also there are a lot of mets in this stage they will gang up on you if you do not take them out. The boss at the end of the stage is a Giant Met. He is not too bad but he can land on you doing serious damage, summon other mets and he will try to shoot you. Take the giant met out with the Ring weapon. So despite their being just mets in this stage, they are so numerous and the death spikes make this one a moderate stage to beat. There are a few disappearing blocks to get buy as well so know their pattern

Wily Stage Two.  (difficulty rating 6/10)
Wily stage two has a lot of spikes in it. The first few rooms have a lot of spikes, small platforms and bug copters. What you want to do is shoot the but copters and land on the platforms avoid the spikes. You will then climb a few ladders. After meeting Eddie you will need to take the right ladder the left one is a trap. Th next rooms have enemies a long spike section. The enemies are the mummies and oysters so just deal with them avoid the spikes, if you are not sure you can make it use the Rush Jet. The boss can be tricky what you want to do is get on the moving platforms and get on the one on the far right you may need to jump back and forth to avoid the flames the boss shoots out. Also watch bullets coming from the top. It is easy to get hit so be prepared to climb the platforms again. Use the ring weapon for a quick victory. I give this stage a 6 out of 10 because of the all the spikes and the different attacks of the boss. I lost a few lives when playing this stage due to getting hit and landing on spikes so be careful

Wily Stage three (difficulty 10/10)
Okay now it is time for a rematch with the robot masters. Deal with them how you did before. Now you have Wily Machine #4. The forth Machine is not to bad try to stay under its mouth fighting it head on will get you hit with powerful shots. Use your charged up mega buster it will take it out quickly. So since there is a rematch with all the bosses and you have to get in the sweet spot for Wily Machine 4 this one deserves a 10 out of 10. It is so easy to miss Wily Machine's sweet spot were it can't touch you and you have narrow room to shot at it not to mention fighting 8 robots again yeah very difficult.

Wily Stage four (difficulty rating  8/10)
The first room just has enemies that can be shot for energy power ups. Now onto Wily. Wily will turn the lights out and you will have to dodge the bolts of electricity he sends at you. However, pay attention because the sparks give away his location. Pharaoh shot does wonders here you can charge it up and hit Wily while he is above you or if he is at your level just shoot him with Pharaoh shots. The hard part is seeing were he is. That is what makes this battle tough.

Ending.
After Wily is defeated he does his begging routine in front of Mega Man then he goes into his escape room and flies out. Meanwhile he activates his castle self destruct device. Mega Man telaports out as the fortress blows sky high revealing a skull shaped. Dr. Wily flies off in his saucer letting the player know he will be back someday. Mega Man tacks a ride on the train back to Light's Lab until he is needed again.
Is Mega Man 4 for the NES giving you trouble? Do you feel aggravated over there robot Masters. Well in this guide I'm going to be covering each Robot Master and the fortress stages. I do have an analysis system that I use on a scale 1-10
1-2 Easy
3 slightly difficulty
4-5 moderate difficulty
6-7 difficult
8-10 very difficult

I generally fight the robot masters in this order
Toad Man
Bright Man
Pharaoh Man
Ring Man
Dust Man
Skull Man
Dive Man
Drill Man.
So lets begin the guide

Toad Man Stage (difficulty 3/10)

I don't know if you guys know about this cheat... and it might only work for the FamiCom cartridge (which I had).

On the front label it even tells you what to do : "Press up and start to nourish the blood".
Meaning if you press up and start together, it refills your power (and RC's) but doesn't refill any of your boss powers or Rush adaptors.
