Mario and his friends are back for this adventure.

Graphics: 8.
The graphics are much improved over Super Mario Brothers one. Mario and Luigi have a more defined shape and sprints. It seemed like the first game the sprints were lacking. The backgrounds are nice for a 8 bit system. The underground levels are also nicely done. I also like how the veggies swing to the music. The only thing that keeps this from being a 10 is sometimes it seems like the game lags some. I often play as Luigi and it seems like sometimes his sprints and controls are lagging just a bit. I guess that can be expected for a 8 bit system. But Super Mario Brothers 3 did not have that problem. The other characters sprints and controls seem to be fine.

Sound: 8
The game has very good sound. The tune has a nice beat to it. The underground music makes a player think they are in a dungeon. Also it is kind of funny how when enemies are thrown into enemies how it makes a unique sound. When the player picks up a pow block and throws it makes an earthquake sound. The only thing about the sound is there are only two music tunes to this game. The music is good but for some players they may get tired of hearing the same tune over and over again. So that is what keeps this from getting a higher rating.

Addictiveness: 8
I find this game to be addictive mainly because you can chose to play as 4 characters in the game. I got this game when I was 4 years old and I still enjoy playing it today. Sometimes it is fun to play with different characters. Mario and Luigi are my favorites.

Story: 8
Unlike other Mario games Peach does not get captured in this one. Anybody that has played Mario games know that is a rare. The story is creative so it was nice how it was done. Reading from the instruction manual is were the player will get the plot of this game. Basically Mario dreams that he hears citizens of  a world calling him that is in distress,. The people in the world in distress tell him "please help us the evil wart has taken over, and cast a spell, Remember Wart hates Vegetables". Mario goes on a picnic with his friends and tells them his strange dream. To his surprise he hears the same call from help and sees the mysterious door in front of him. His friends enter the door. Okay the story is creative despite their being now Koopas or no Bowser; so that is why it gets a decent rating.

Depth: 7
The Depth of this game is not as good as Super Mario Brothers 3. The game is not as big as there is only 7 worlds, that are short,  and shortcuts can be taken so that cuts the rating down. Still the game makes up for it because the player can chose 4 characters to play with: Mario, Luigi, Toad and Peach. All of them have their weakness and strengths. It is often fun to go through each game with a different character. The bonus game you get to earn lives is nice. However unlike other Mario games there are not a lot of items to earn or win. So that takes the rating down.

Difficulty: 6
Okay here is were Super Mario Brothers 2 suffers the most. Unlike other Mario games this one is not too difficult to beat. Players can take shortcuts to bypass the most difficult world. Still I gave this game a moderate difficulty for a few reasons. First time players will find the enemies might be hard to dodge especially the flying ones. There is one world that is difficult as it requires creativity to clear. And two of the world bosses can be tricky to beat. But even with those  the game is not difficult. Once a player learns how to get over the traps defeat the bosses the difficulty just does not seem to be there compared to other Mario games. So yeah this probably one of the easier Super Mario games.

Overall: 8
This is a solid game despite the negatives it is fun to play through. The graphics are okay the story is okay. The thing to note is that Nintendo did a good job sailing this as a Mario game. Here is were I am going with this. This game was borrowed from a Japanese Nintendo game called DokKi Dok Panic with all the levels being the same. Nintendo replaced the players in the Dokki Dok game with Mario characters. They changed the story to make it more appealing. There is no Bowser or koopas in this game. However some of the Mario enemies were introduced in this game such as Shy Guys, Ninjas, and Birdo that have become mainstays. Still this game ended up being a huge hit. I got this game when I was 4 years old. I played it then and I still play it now. This game has been remade to fit different systems. So even though there is not koopas in this game; it is still a good game. I recommend this game especially to those playing Mario for the first time.

This is a good review. I really like how you ordered each category with the heading and It looks like you put a lot of effort into it. Good Job!
