SavatoX: Mega Man 3. Tied with Mega Man 2 for being considered the best game in the series. Is it as good as people say? Let's find out--
X2: HELLO, EVERYBODY! I'm BACK!
SavatoX: X2? I thought I killed you off back in an earlier review!
X2: Nope! Through a convenient plot twist that SO does not involve a certain mad scientist, I have been granted the power of invincibility! Also, killing me sends you back to the beginning of the level.
SavatoX: Whatever. What do you want?
X2: You're reviewing Mega Man 3, my favorite Mega Man game! And you didn't invite me!?
SavatoX: X2, you were SO ANNOYING last time we did a review together. Now get out of my room!
X2: Nope! I'm here to stay!
SavatoX: *facepalm*
SAVATOX AND X2 PRESENT: MEGA MAN 3 (NES)
SavatoX: The graphics and sound are among the best on the system, as with every Mega Man game. That's to be expected from a game like this.
X2: There is a grand total of ONE song that I didn't care for: Hard Man's theme. Making this my favorite soundtrack in the NES library.
SavatoX: However, we do have to knock down the graphics a few points for one reason: SPRITE FLICKER. Granted, it's not as bad as in Mega Man 2, but it doesn't look good regardless of how rare or common it is.
X2: Gameplay-wise, it's the same as the first two games, except with two neat additions: Rush and sliding. Rush just might be the best thing that's ever happened to Mega Man. And not just because I love dogs.
SavatoX: What Rush does is he can be used as a trampoline, a submarine, or a jet. I personally prefer the Rush Jet form you get from beating Needle Man.
X2: The slide move also offers many opportunities for unique level and boss design, see Needle Man's stage and the Top Man's boss fight.
SavatoX: Speaking of the Robot Masters, they are AWESOME! They are WAY better than the ones from Mega Man 2.
X2: Dude! You do realize the amount of hate we're going to get for that, don't you!?
SavatoX: Yeah, whatever. COME AT ME!!!
X2: *shoots him* Anyway, like he said, we consider 3's Robot Masters better than 2. Don't get us wrong, 2's Robot Masters weren't bad, some of them were really good, they just don't appeal to me as much as 3's.
SavatoX: Even the one's that aren't good like Top Man and Needle Man do have some redeeming qualities. Just keep that pitiful excuse for a Robot Master known as Hard Man FAR AWAY FROM ME.
X2: But when Mega Man 3 does a good Robot Master, they pretty much nail it.
SavatoX: There's Snake Man, Spark Man, Gemini Man, and my personal favorite, Magnet--
X2: And then there's MY personal favorite, Shadow Man.
SavatoX: Did you just interrupt me?
X2: No! Anyway. Once you beat the eight standard Robot Masters, you'll be forced to play through harder versions of Spark Man's, Needle Man's, Gemini Man's, and Shadow Man's stages. And while you're at it, you'll get to fight the Robot Masters from Mega Man 2 all over again! Have fun with that since you don't have their weapons any more! You're not taking down THIS Metal Man in one hit! BWAHAHAHAHA!!!
SavatoX: Are you going to let me talk in MY review?
X2: Nope. And then after beating Mega Man 2's Robot Masters, you go through a castle for the third time. And it's the EASIEST CASTLE EVER!
SavatoX: *AHEM* Yellow Devil.
X2: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
SavatoX: Surprisingly though, the Yellow Devil is nowhere near as frustrating as in Mega Man 1.
X2: To wrap this up, Mega Man 3 is a truly stellar game. The Robot Masters are awesome, the difficulty is fair, and this game truly is the highest quality Mega Man game on NES.
SavatoX: And this is where I lose all credibility because X2 here is clearly blinded by nostalgia.
X2: Oh, shut up. At least it's more entertaining than your Super Castlevania IV review, I FELL ASLEEP during that one.
SavatoX: ...WHAT. NOBODY FALLS ASLEEP DURING MY REVIEWS!!! *slaps X2 across the face with a Fail Hammer, blasts him with the BGM 2000, and slices him in half with the Metal Blade* With that out of the way--
X2: STILL ALIVE!!!
SavatoX: *facepalm* WON'T YOU STAY DEAD!?
X2: Anyway, Mega Man 3 is a great game, you should play it. See you next time!
SavatoX: THERE WON'T BE A NEXT TIME WITH YOU!!!
MEGA MAN 3 FINAL VERDICT: 9.0 SavatoX: Mega Man 3. Tied with Mega Man 2 for being considered the best game in the series. Is it as good as people say? Let's find out--
