This month's High Score competition is for 'Clu Clu Land' for the Nintendo NES. You can play it here:

The point of this competition is to get as high of a score as you can.


NEW RULE: You cannot unfairly get points or lives or use a glitch of any sort. If you find something that gives out unlimited points or lives, it will not count.

VIDEO REQUIRED: You must post a video of yourself accomplishing the score you submit. You must use the RGR Plugin's built in video recording capabilities. The video submission has to be a single video, it cannot be broken into parts so if you recorded it in parts, be sure to merge them into a single video.

RULES: You MUST play the game using the RGR Plugin in 'Timetrial Mode' and take a screenshot of your top score from that by pressing F6. To play in 'Timetrial Mode', scroll down the page where the highscores would appear, you'll see a link that says 'Click Here to Compete for Highscore', click that. Once you've taken your screenshot, click the link near that one that says 'Click Here to Submit your Score' to submit your score. The video must be uploaded to the vizzed youtube account. The video submission has to be a single video, it cannot be broken into parts.

3rd = 1,000 Viz

I use a laptop. It will not allow me to use the F6 button to take a picture. However, I can use the "prt sc" button to take a screenshot, and then post it on the necessary forums page. Would that be acceptable?

Your Laptop should have FN button situated between the CTRL and the windows key on the left hand side of the keyboard, most laptops do push that and then F6, also be sure to click on the game screen prior to taking a screenshot as well.

So pushing the "fn" button and then F6 should let me use the F6 screen capture function?

Let's say that I just got a high score that I'm pleased with for the time being and I submit the screen and the vid. What are my options later in the month if I want to take another crack at it?

(Sorry if it's a dumb question but dealing with videos and high score screens are new to me.)

thephantombrain : You can keep going for a higher score even if you've already submitted one. If you get a better score, you can just upload another video of you achieving the new score, and update the screenshot as well.

I personally like to wait until towards the end of the month to upload my best video so that I only have to do it once.

RetroGamer9000 : That wont work because that can be cheated. A screenshot taken with the plugin has the URL of the site so therefore it says that the user took the screenshot with the plugin. However, if I allowed users to use your technique, they can easily alter the image or use another image all together to cheat. Sorry.

This may be helpful to some people competing. It's a little picture I whipped up to show a route for completing the bonus stage. The image on the right occurs immediately where the left leaves off at. I color coded the pegs that you need to grab with the directional input that you use to grab them.

For doing the fast-paced portion in the right image, I find it easier to count out number of times I need to hit a direction before switching to the next clockwise direction, hence the numbers in the margins.

EDIT: Okay, so there's about 2 hours Vizzed Time until March 1st and it seems I'm the only one who has made an entry(unless there's some other way to enter that I completely missed)... if no one else enters, does that mean I win by default? Mind you, I did see some other videos of better scores than me, so they're probably just waiting until the last minute to post their score.

awesome99999 : you have made a mistake to participate you have to go to the page where you can play clu clu land then click on  compete for highscore  then in the time trail mode take a sreenshot and submit it by clicking on click here to submit your scrore.
