Oh, dear. This is one contest I couldn't hope to do well in. Ha ha ha! I prefer to play games that are challenging but not overly so. When I come across difficult games, I pass on playing them in hopes of encountering easier games I can handle.

Good luck to you awesome people who compete! Looks like this month, I'll finally be continuing the walkthrough I started a long time ago.

Playthrough competitions in the past on this site have allowed level warps, although this contest is more subjective than recent contests because the winner will be chosen by a vote. There are quite a few games with valid level warps in-game (such as warp pipes in the Mario Bros. games). I simply wanted a clarification of the rules on games with such warps considering the differences in this contest compared to past ones.

I'm a little confused by how the scoring system would work for this competition if it's about beating the hardest game. Hard in video games can be hard due to incredible A.I., difficult level design, or perhaps even terrible programming and creation of the game making the game feel almost impossible to play.

I'm already thinking of some Neo-Geo fighting games that I still can't beat without much concentration, and some of the bosses in the fighting games are broken to the core. Maybe I'll compete as long as nothing else gets in the way.

Also i think for judging to be the most accurate, every voter should play each entry before voting because what may look easy on what we do on the screen is a lot harder than it looks and usually takes a lot of trial and error before decent runs.

I'm already liking the sound of this. I like to see the cocky competitors come out to play for these contests. For me, I have quite a few old school games that I haven't even beat over the past 20 years because I know they were death traps as kids.
