Introduction
Faxanadu is a very in depth and lengthy side-scrolling game for the NES with RPG elements. It centers around a nameless character as he battles corrupt Dwarves to restore his homeland. This was one of the first Action Role-Playing Games I ever played. It has a very great mix of gaming elements. It has the difficulty of an NES platform, and the detailed story as well as weapons/equipment/items of an RPG. This walkthrough is accompanied by a video in which I have made to give you a visual with this guide. I would like to not that there are a few times where I end up not doing things quite as efficiently as explained in the video explains because I did not feel like going back and redoing parts for the sake of the recording. The video is only meant to be a visual help, but the guide will point out some mistakes I made in the video so you don't make the same ones. This is an rcarter2 original walkthrough. Enjoy.

Game Play
The game play of Faxanadu is pretty strait forward.

Guru
Gurus are important in this game. They give you mantras, which are passwords. These passwords will bring you back to that particular spot at the rank you have most recently earned (I will discuss ranks soon). Also, if you die, you will be brought back to the last Guru who gave you a mantra at the last rank you have earned. So visit Gurus every time you visit a town.

Ranks
Ranks are earned by getting experience points. When you die and are revived at a Guru, you will be given a certain amount of GOLD. How much GOLD you get depends on your rank. So visit Gurus when you reach enough exp to bump up a rank. Here is a chart showing rank title/ EXP required/ GOLD you start with-

Story
In this game, a lot of the story doesn't really unfold all at the beginning. You get an initial journey, and find out that what you are set out to do is only a symptom of the real problem. However, a lot of the story will not be given to you unless you are willing to talk to random people. I will only give the beginning story here and go more in depth as the guide goes along.?
You are a nameless Elven wanderer. You spend your life journeying through wherever life takes you. One day, you decide to make a visit to your homeland at the World Tree. The World Tree is an ENORMOUS tree that has numerous towns ranging from at the base of the tree, up the trunk, and even inside the branches (INSIDE, not on). When you arrive at your hometown of Eolis, located right at the base of the tree, you find it nearly abandoned. The land is barren and the World Tree looks nearly dead. The walls and buildings of Eolis are crumbling. Your journey begins.

Walkthrough
The game starts with showing you walking towards your hometown, Elois. Everything looks bleak and falling apart. When you approach the gate, you get a monologue from your character basically describing the state of condition the town is in, and wondering what happened. After the monologue, head to the right and go through the door to enter the town. If you talk to the man walking around the screen, he tells you to go talk to the King. Head to the left. If you talk to the woman, she tells you a little about the town and tells you to talk to the Guru before seeing the King. Go ahead and enter the church on your screen. When you talk to the Guru in the church, he will give you a Ring of Elf. Without this ring, the guard won't let you in. Head to the left. Along the way, you will have 2 screens that each have 2 spiked creatures. Just jump over them. You can't kill them right now. Keep heading to the left until you reach the end. Inter the castle and talk to the King. He will tell you that disaster has fallen on the entire Kingdom. The Elf fountain water that is their life source has stopped and are almost dry. Upon sending you on your quest, he will give you 1500 GOLDS (currency). Leave the castle and head to the left. Skip everything until you reach the screen with the guy smoking the cigarette. Enter the door on the left. This is a tool shop. Here, you need to purchase the hand dagger, the Deluge magic, and a potion . Exit the shop and equip the dagger and magic, and enter the door to the right. This is the key shop. Buy about 3 Jack keys. Leave the shop and go to the left. Get killed by those spiky creatures (Don't worry, there is a reason ). When you continue, you will find that your health AND magic bar are completely filled, AND you have all of your items that you bought! You have 0 GOLDS, so head over to the King to get 1500 more! Head over as far right as you can. There is a one-legged hopping monster. Kill it. Open your item window and equip one of your Jack Keys. Then go to the door on the far right and enter (using the Jack Key). Now your Journey officially begins!

You are now out of town at the very base of the tree. Onward to the trunk! Just continue to the right. You will come across 5 of those one-legged monsters and 3 of those weird spikey things. Just a note, you CANNOT harm the spikey things with your dagger. You have to resort to jumping over them. When you reach the end, head up the ladders to the next floor up. At the top of the ladder are 2 monsters that shouldn't reach you if you just immediately head to the right. Next screen has two more one legged monsters.?HERE IS AN OPPORTUNITY!?On the next screen where there are blue zombies is a door that is another tool chop. Only 2 items are hear. The Magic Shield and Death magic. These prices are very high for it being the beginning of the game. But these are the 2nd most powerful shield and magic in the game. They are definitely worth the time it takes to farm the money. On my video, I did not buy the Death magic because I personally don't use magic often, but it can certainly hep you with some sticky situations .To farm, just keep killing the re-spawning one legged enemies to the left of the shop and building your money. It will take a while, but at the very LEAST, buy the magic shield. If your health gets low, use the potion you bought. Or you can get healed for a price by the doctor in the town to the right. Just don't wait till you have only one more hit before you die because you will have to jump over a spikey monster and kill a one legged monster before getting to that town. Nothing worse than having 6000 GOLDS to lose it all by dying. Once you have bought the items from the shop, head over to the town to the right.?

This is the town of Apolune. If you talk to the woman, she says there are a lot of Dwarfs in the Tower of Trunk (Dwarfs are the enemies you have been fighting. You'll get more on that later). First, head to the church. Talk to the Guru and he will give you a new title for all of the EXP you earned while money farming for your new equipment. If you just got the shield, you should at least be bumped to 'Battler'. Talk to him again to get your mantra so you will return here if you die. If you talk to people in the buildings you will find out advice and story information. You will find out that the people in this town built a wall to the east to stop the Dwarfs from coming, but it didn't work. You are also told that there is a secret Guru in the Tower of Trunk, but that is later in the game. Head to the right and out of town. As you keep going, you will find the Tower of Trunk. You need to equip a Jack Key to enter.?

Tower of Trunk
For the first few screens, you will fight familiar Dwarfs. I will note that you CAN kill the spikey Dwarfs that are on ledges. Just jump the gap, but not all the way. Just jump far enough to reach them with your blade as you fall. A few hits will kill them and they leave behind a loaf of bread, which restores a good portion of your health. Nice way to replenish health when you need to. Once you head up the ladder, you will find a new enemy, blue bulls. These guys run at you very fast. Don't try to jump over them because they jump in the air. To avoid them, charge them when they are charging you, and they should jump over you just before you run into each other. Then you can turn and stab them while they are temporarily still. Continue to the right and head up the ladders to the next floor. On the next floor, you will see these weird skinny blue guys that hop around at a moderate speed. They aren't too bad. Continue on to the right while avoiding the spikey dwarfs, and you will meet your first boss fight.
This is a giant, blue, bat creature with horns. His method of attack is throwing a few fireballs across the screen, flying a little closer, and repeat. There are 2 ways to beat him without getting hit. You are standing at the top of some stairs. As long as you are on that step, his fireballs cannot touch you. Cheap, huh? Anyway, 1st method is to just continuously fire Deluge magic until he dies. If you would rather conserve your magic, you can stand at the edge of the step and just continuously stab with your knife. Eventually, he will fly into your knife enough times and die. He will drop a nice amount of GOLD as well as a Mattock (a pickax). Grab the goods and head out the way you came. Feel free to refill your health with the bread dropped from the spikey guys if needed.?

When you exit, head to the right. You will see green bricks, and a small section of brown bricks. That is the wall that the guy in Apolune mentioned. Equip the Mattock to destroy the wall. Head through these ladders disposing of the hopping dwarfs. Keep following the path and you will see some new enemies. These bug looking guys fly around in predictable paths. They take a single hit to kill, and they drop bread. These guys are an awesome way to refill health in the future. As you follow the path, you will run into a walking corpse. He also drops bread. Head up the ladder to the next floor. You might see a glove on the top right corner. These gloves temporarily increase your attack power (I believe it is for 30 seconds). I don't find it worth the time to get this particular one, so just ignore it. As you to to the right, you will find a new enemy, fireshooting cloaked dwarfs. These guys shoot the same fireballs the bat did, only weaker. If you took the time to buy that Magic Shield, you will reap the benefits of that now, as it absorbs a huge portion of the damage these things can inflict. These cloaked guys also give a nice amount of GOLDS as well, but don't start farming them just yet. Dispose of these guys on your way and head right to the next town.

This is the town of Forepaw. In the tool shop, you will find a Long Sword and Studded Mail. Buy the Long Sword. You likely don't have the GOLDS to buy the Studded Mail yet. Exit the shop and equip the Long Sword. This weapon comes with some nice payoffs compared to the dagger. First, it reaches a LOT farther, so you don't have to be at point blank distance to hit enemies. It is much more powerful. But one of the best things is that you can now kill those spikey creatures on the ground with a single hit! No more jumping over these guys. Anyway, go back to the left out of town, and start farming the cloaked guy for GOLDS until you have enough to buy that Studded Mail and any other equipment there you want. You can use that flying bug guy for health as well so you don't have to buy potions or heal at the doctor. Go buy the Studded Mail and Wing Boots when you have enough GOLDS. I went ahead and bought another potion in my video. Head to the chu
rch to get a new title and talk to him again for your mantra. Go to the Key Store. If you have no more Jack Keys, buy one. Buy a couple of Queen Keys too. This is the cheapest price you will ever get them from here on. If you talk to people in the town, you will find more plot info. The spring of the Elf Fountain gets the Life Source water from 3 fountains. You need to restore all 3 to restore the Elf Fountain. You will also hear that one of the fountains is in the sky, which you need Wing Boots to reach. Another is in the Tower of Fortress, and the third is right above the town (remember, you are in a giant tree). Head to the right and out of town.

Now you need to restore the 3 fountains. First, head up the ladders to the next floor up. Then jump as far as you can off the ledge to the right (don't worry. You're an Elf. You won't die from high falls). You should land on the very bottom floor. Head to the right 2 screens. Equip your Wing Boots and use them. Hold the Up+A button to float in the air. If you let go of either button, you drop VERY FAST. Keep flying up, and you will reach the ceiling, but there is a section missing. Fly through the hole. Keep flying up. Ignore the cloaked guys. Your flight time is limited. You will fly up to the first fountain with an old man there. Speak to the old man, and the fountain will flow. You also find out the fountains had poison in them (uh oh). One down, just 2 more to go. Drop all the way to the bottom, and head left (ignoring what I did in the video). Ignore the door, as you don't have the right key. Keep heading to the left, disposing of all enemies. Head up the ladder and climb your way back to where you left town. Use the bug guys to farm health if you need it. Climb back up that ladder. This time, you need to jump to grab the ladder to the right. Don't fall. Climb the ladder and head left. Jump the next gap and yo will reach the Tower of Fortress. Equip a Jack Key to enter.

Tower of Fortress
Right away are 2 of those weird blue jumping guys. Kill them and head to the right. Dispose of the cloaked guys and head more to the right. Climb the ladder and go left. Kill the cloaked guy, jump the gap, and go up the ladder. Then go to the right. Either kill or evade the bull as you continue to the right. Kill the next bull and cloaked guy and head up the ladder. Kill the next cloaked guy and head up the next ladder. Keep following the path. You will reach a room where a giant cobra thing appears. Kill it by attacking its head. When he is dead, head to the right and up the ladder and to the right. Now is your next technical boss.
This is a guy who looks like he is made of stone. He is holding a lever. This machine makes boulders fall from the ceiling wherever you are. These things due nasty damage, so jump the gaps to get to the other side and to the next screen. Climb up and grab the Elixer. This is handy as it will restore your health and magic fully automatically when you lose all of your health. Go to the left. You will be RIGHT NEXT to that pesky guy. Immediately start stabbing. Stab fast enough, and you should kill him before he has a chance to drop a boulder on you. He will leave Wing Boots. Grab them. If you got hit, or you are not at full health, go to the right and back to the left. He will have respawned. let him kill you to get full health. Immediately head back to the right to grab the respawned Elixer. Go back to the left and kill the guy, and head out.?
That cobra guy will be back. Let him get the right side of the screen, and jump over him and head down the ladder. Follow the path until you reach the bottom floor. Now, you need to head to the right. Climb up the ladders. Keep following the path. You will find another spring with another old guy. Head up to him, and he says you need Elixer to revive the spring. Well, look what we happen to have ?. You will give him the Elixer, and he will bring the spring back. Only 1 more to go. Instead of going back the exact way you came, just drop to the left. You will fall to a room with a bull. Kill it. You MIGHT see a glowing flask. This will make you invincible to everything but magic attacks for 30 seconds. Go ahead and grab it. Fall down the hole to the bottom floor. Not go back the way you took to the rock guy. Go ahead and grab another Elixer, refill your life by getting hit, grab another Elixer, kill the boss, and head back. Instead of going down the ladder, go left and drop down the hole. Follow the path, and you will find a building within this tower. This is the secret Guru you were told about. He will give you the Joker Key. Head out of the church, and down the ladder. Don't touch that flask. it is poison. Drop down, and exit.?
Head to the right, and you need to drop to the right and back down to that bottom level again. that Joker Key unlocks the door you passed before.
The moment you go through this door, you will fight another giant blue bat. This time, you have no step to keep you out of harms way. Now you get to find out how much of a pain in the butt these guys really are. My suggestion is to immediately fire off your magic at this guy. if you bought Death magic before, this will be quick and fairly painless. If you still have deluge magic, you will prepare to take some damage. When you kill him, you will find the last spring and another old Elf. Talk to him once, and he will revive the Spring. In my video, I made a HUGE mistake. I left without talking to him again. You need to talk to him again!!!!!! If you don't, you will have to get another key from the secret Guru in the Tower of Fortress, and fight that bat AGAIN (2 extra times to be exact). When you talk to him, he will give you the Ring of Ruby, which allows you to push the rocks blocking the Elf Fountain. Now here is the sucky part. When you go back to the left to leave, guess who respawned. Our old friend, the blue bat. Kill him again. Hopefully, you won't lose your Elixer. Use potions if you have to in order to keep the Elixer. It is more valuable and doesn't use any of your 8 item slots. Exit.
Refill you life if needed. Before continuing, go back into the town of Forepaw and go to the church. Get a new title, and talk to him again for your mantra. Don't want to lose your EXP progress you have made. Head back out and up the ladder. This time, you can just go left. You will see the Elf Fountain blocked by green rocks. Jump on up the fountain, and push the rocks simply buy walking into them for a few seconds. The Elf Spring is restored, and the Elf Life source is back! Now we can go back to Elois, knock back a few ales, and bathe in praise and glory! Right? Turns out, no. You did what you were set to do, but now it is time to find out how this all happened in the first place. Your journey is just short of halfway through. When you push the rocks away, a ladder will appear. Climb the ladder, equip a Queen Key, and enter through the door.

This is an annoying part of the game. It is covered in a weird mist that makes it fairly annoying to see things. It is more irritating than hindering, to be honest. But still. Anyway, dispose of any enemies that get in your path. Head to the left and up the ladder. Head to the right (ignore that first ladder, as it literally goes nowhere). When you reach the farthest right, you will see a purple pillar blocking the entrance to the next town. Climb the ladder and jump the ledges to get to over that pillar and into town.

This is the town of Macon. Nice welcome too ("What is your business here?). When you just talk to people around town, you will get some story information. There was a meteorite that landed. The Dwarfs brought this meteorite to the World Tree. Turns out that when this meteorite is dissolved in water, the water becomes poison. This meteorite is what caused the mist around this area. The meteorite was placed at the Tower of Suffer, in which the Dwarfs meditate upon it. And the plot thickens. In this tool shop, you will find a Large Shield (useless if you bought the Magic Shield), Thunder (Useless if you bought Death), Mattock (pretty much useless at this point of the game), and potion. The key shop has Jack and Queen keys. Buy a queen key if you have none. Head out of the town by heading to the right.?

Climb up that first ladder and drop down to the bottom floor. Head to the right. You will see some new enemies. Particularly, little guys with swords. To beat them, don't walk toward them. The will stop when your sword is long enough to hit them, but they can't reach you. If you step forward, you get hit. Just attack them with your longer sword........ anyway. Head to the farthest right. you will see a big read building. Ignore it. Just climb the ladders to the next floor up and follow the only path. Once you climb up to the next floor, go right, jumping the gaps. You will see a red building with three doors. I assume these are the shops with valuable items that you heard about in Macon. But all that is in there now are monsters. Since you are in shop buildings, your weapon is gone, so you can't attack them unless you use magic. Just don't bother going in there, as it is pointless. Climb the ladder and head to the left. Jump the gaps. Ignore the ladder and go left. Dispose of the 2 enemies. Use the wing boots you got from the boulder monster a while back to reach the ladder above you. Go to the farthest right and climb up the ladders. Continue to the right to reach the next town.?

This is the town of Victim (nice name). In this town, you will be able to buy Full Plate armor in the tool shop. After the enemies you have been fighting, you should have more than enough. Exit and equip the armor. The key shop has King Keys. Buy a couple to be on the safe side. Head into the church to get a new title. If you haven't died at any point and been killing enemies regularly, you should be at the title 'Hero' by now. Talk again to get your mantra. Go out of town by going to the right.

Climb up the ladder and drop to the bottom floor, and head to the right. The squid monsters you see flying around are easy. They just go back and forward across the screen. They drop bread. Same with the little googly eyed stalks. On the farthest right screen, head up the ladder. You will be attacked by swarms of weak bees. Dispose of them and replenish your health with the googly thing. Head to the right (jumping the gap). Climb up the first ladder and head to the right. Climb up the next ladder. Go left, jumping all gaps. You will run into a blue guy in a fedora. These are annoying guys. Their method of attack is what looks like beating a tambourine. They make the screen flash, and simply being in the room damages you. Kill these guys the moment you see them. Ignore the 2 doors for now and head left. kill the tambourine guy. Head up the ladder and go left, jumping the gaps (might be poison on one of the steps. If so, just gotta pain through it). Better take the damage now than risk falling by taking the bottom path. Keep heading left and jumping gaps until you reach the end. You will see a new enemy that looks like a blue version of the Elephant Man. Kill it and head up the ladders. Use the squid in this area to refill life if needed. Continue to the end of the path, which you will find a red castle. You must use a King Key to enter.

Tower of Mist
Upon entering, you will see some new enemies. These are completely armored dwarfs with long maces. They have no noticeable pattern. They change direction whenever, and they jump at various heights. Instead of trying to walk under them when they jump high, it is best to just kill them. They aren't too bad. Just head in the only direction you can.... to the right. Eventually, you will see a room with 2 paths. You can go up the ladder and fight a giant blue bat on level playing field, or you can go the lower route and fight the giant blue bat you see now on a playing field completely in your favor. If you take the upper path, you will actually have to fight 2 giant bats in a row. Upon beating the second one, you are given an item that is supposed to increase your attack power. But I think the developers got the code wrong, because I have found that it actually weakens your attack power a little. Decisions decisions....... Take the bottom route, and stay on top of the read pillar. Then use the same cheap tactic that you used the first time back at the Tower of Trunk. On the next screen, there is this tall blue spider thing. Attacking the legs does nothing. You must jump and attack the head. It is a very easy enemy. Keep going to the right. On this next screen, climb up the ladder and stay on the upper path. On the next screen, immediately start stabbing because one of those quick pine-cone looking guys is right there. Jump the gap, and keep going to the next boss.
I can't really describe what this thing looks like. I'll just call him Ugly Beast. There are a few methods to kill this thing. You can stand in the middle of the room and fire magic at it when it lands in a corner, or you can try to keep it against a wall by constantly jump attacking it with your sword. Either will do, but the magic route is safer. When you kill it, you will get the Black Onyx. This is actually the meteorite that struck and poisoned everything.?
Now you have 2 options. Try to go through this castle to get out, fighting that bat on level playing field, and all that good stuff, or you can just go ahead and die so you can return to the Guru in the town of Victim. If you have an Elixer, try to get out of the tower. If not, just die. It is faster.

Whichever route you take, be in the town. Make sure you have 3-4 King Keys in your inventory. If you don't, you will regret later. Buy some potions if you have room. Exit town through the right. Remember on that path you took to the Tower of Mist where you met that first tambourine guy? There was a red building with two doors? Go there, and enter the door on the left and talk to the guy there. You will find out that the dwarfs have become crazed by the meteorite. Though the fountain is restored, the Elves will be under thread of the dwarfs for as long as they are crazed. He will give you an Ace Key. Exit his house, equip the Ace Key, and use it on the door to the right. Getting close to the end here.

Tree Branches
You are now at the top of the World Tree. You will find some areas narrow, as you are traveling inside the branches. Already, you see new enemies (and will see more new ones around here). This first guy is a giant dodo bird, and he is simple. So continue on to the right, killing any enemies in your narrow path, and collecting GOLDS. Head up the first ladder you see, and start going left. Head up the next ladder, and go right. You will run into some poison. Just have to deal with it. Keep going right until you reach the next town.

Here is the town of Conflate. The tool shop here has a Giant Blade. Same reach as the Long Sword, but it is more powerful. You might have to farm GOLDS from those cloaked guys you passed before town. But it is worth the money, as enemies here are stronger, and you have been overdue for a new weapon. Equip the blade when you buy it (I forgot to equip it for a while in my video ). From talking to people, you will find that the Dwarfs and Elves used to be friends. This particular town prospered by trading with them. Talk to the Guru for mantra and maybe a title if you earned it. You will hear of a legendary armor and helmet around. When you get those, you need to talk to the Guru. Head out of town by going left.

Continue going left until you reach the end. Refill your life with those squirmy guys if needed. At the end, you will see a door. Equip a King Key to go through. This room is a one path direction, so just keep going left. Dispose of enemies (you will see some new ones). At the end is another Ugly Beast. Use the same method as last time. You will get the Legendary Helmet. You can't equip it yet . Head back out the way you came.?

Go back to the right, past the poison. This time, travel up the ladders. Use another King Key to get to the next part. Again, another one way path. Go to the right until the end. Jump that gap. Don't fall, for God's sake. Go through the door at the end (no key required). Go to the right one screen and drop down the hole. Go right to the end to fight another Ugly Beast. You will get the Legendary Armor (can't equip yet. Go back left and travel up that little pyramid looking structure. You will get the Magical Rod, which increases the strength of your magic attacks. Die now. Without Wing Boots, I don't think it is possible to go back the way you came. You will be at the Guru you were supposed to talk to after getting the Legendary Items. A long time ago, you should have had 3-4 King Keys. In my video, I had 2, and had to go all the way back to the misty area to get another . Luckily, you didn't make that mistake. After you get back through that door that brought you close to where you were, DON"T FALL DOWN THAT GAP AGAIN. Wait for the blue guy with the spear to fall down the pit, and then go up the ladders. Keep climbing ladders to the top and go to the right to the next town.

This is the town of Daybreak. The tool shop has the Tilt magic. It is the strongest magic in the game. If you need to farm, make sure you visit the Guru first to get a mantra to save your location. Farm for money until you can buy Tilt. Equip it. Keep in mind this magic is hard to aim. It doesn't go strait. It slowly travels diagonally up, then shoots like a rocket, and bursts. The burst is what harms enemies. Not much info in town other than a woman who praises you. Buy some potions if you need to. Head out of town by going to the right.

Keep going to the right, killing any enemies in your path. Go through the door at the end using a King Key.

Cave
Head to the left and drop down the first gab you reach. Ignore the purple castle. Go down the ladder and drop strait down. Go left and fall down the pit and travel to the right a bit. You will run into a new bull enemy, so be aware. On the room where you first run into this bull, go up the ladder and just jump the gaps to the next screen. You will see 3 doors. Ignore them for now. Head up the ladder and keep following the only available path. You will reach a point where you must jump on a small block with a door. Be careful. No key is required. You will enter another cave.

Dwarf Castle
Travel down the first set of ladders you see and drop to the bottom floor. Go to the right. Kill the blue bull and travel up the ladder and head right. Kill the Squid and jump the gaps. Go up the next ladder you see after the gaps. There is a weird thing on the ceiling that spits out ghosts. it is annoying, but you must reach that door on the right side of the room. If you are low on health (half or less), restore it with Red Potions. This boss fight can be a doozy. Enter the door.

King Grieve
This dragon's name is King Grieve. You will find that he is the King of the Dwarfs (if you haven't been talking to people, this evil meteorite has crazed the dwarfs and changed them). But I won't give more than that just now. My method of killing him is using the Tilt magic like crazy. Timing is everything. You might have to use a few Red Potions during this fight. Pretty much impossible to dodge his fireballs without Wing Boots. When you kill him, you will receive the Dragon Slayer (Most powerful sword in the game). You can't equip it yet. Exit the room

Head down the ladder and go left. Drop down the gap (where the blue spider thing is), and go down the ladder. You will see a purple building. Enter it to find a Guru. You hear that the Dragon you killed was the King of Dwarfs. there is a being he calls "The Evil One' who changed his appearance (as well as the appearance of the other dwarfs). King Grieve hid the Dragon Slayer from The Evil One by swallowing it and hiding it in his own body. He will then give you the Demon Ring that allows you to enter the final fortress.

Exit and equip the Dragon Slayer. It will automatically equip the Legendary Helmet and Legendary Armor. You are all decked out now. Head to the left as much as you can. You are pretty much just leaving Dungeon the exact same direction you came.?

When you exit the Castle, head to the left. Climb the ladder and go left. You will see those 3 doors. If you have no more potions, head to town to get as many as you can carry. If you have a few, continue. Enter the left door, then enter the red door.

Dartmoor
Go ahead and drop down a few screens to the blue spider enemy. Kill it and go left. Drop down 2 more screens. Do down the ladder to the next floor down. Drop down the next gap to 3 spikey enemies. Bread time! Jump to the left and climb the ladder. Go up the ladder in the next room to go up a floor. Travel up the ladders up another floor. Kill the enemies in your way. You will go up a floor one more time. Don't miss the jump on that small block to reach that ladder. Climb the ladder, and you will see a door blocked by an Ugly Beast. you can either fight him or let him jump over you and you can go through the door. Time for the final battle. Use a potion before the fight if needed. Make sure you have a potion in your item slot as well so you have it if you need it.

The Evil One
Honestly, I think this boss is very disappointing considering the length and difficulty of this game. It is basically a giant skull with legs that shoots orb at you. For this fight, just jump up and strike its head with the Dragon Slayer. Keep doing this without even worrying about being hit by his orbs. Just be completely on the offensive here. Use a potion if you need to. He will die pretty quickly, and you are done.

You will find yourself back at the King of Elves in Elois. He lets you know how much he appreciates your help. The Elves and Dwarfs will become friends now that the evil is vanquished. They will rebuild the land to how it was before. You, being the nameless wander you are, will not stay here. You will continue traveling wherever fate takes you. You get to see the land lush and green with blue flowing waters. Congratulations!

This has been an rcarter2 original walkthrough. Hope it was helpful! Below is a video to go along with the guide. Enjoy!

Wow... I can't believe you finally got through this.. I'm so happy for you!!!  It looks amazing. Maybe I'll have the time this summer try and write my own walkthrough, though I doubt it would be as nice as yours. XD

Singelli : Thanks. It does take a really long time to do these. Since I didn't do much of anything last month, I thought I would write for this long game to make up for it. I am tired of  this game though

I'm impressed as always. This is a great job, rcarter. We can tell that lot of effort has been put into this walkthrough. And I mean it: detailed, organized... The way I like the walkthroughs
