Good day fellow Vizzed members. A couple of days ago me and one of my coworkers ended up spending a good amount of time discussing movies on the job (because the store we work at is pretty much dead). At first we were discussing who should be some comic book superheroes and villains (we agreed upon Eva Green for Poison Ivy, Bryan Cranston for Mr. Freeze, Charlie Day for Deadpool, etc). Anyways eventually we ended up discussing Pixar's comedies and how Pixar's works are always great (although we ended up getting into an argument about whether the Cars series should count as I tended to view that more as a "cash cow" movie then Pixar's usual works). Eventually on my break I might have thought of a good Cartoon Comedy that just might be good enough to offer the idea to Pixar. But first I wanted to get some feedback from other people to see if this idea sounds good. Here it is... My idea revolves around a love story between a Butterfly and Moth. The story starts with a Butterfly getting lost from its family while playing with other Butterflies and she can't find her way out of the forest and it turns into night. Panicking, she ends up crashing into a Moth who rescues her from a Bat. They soon start seeing each other, but because the Moth only comes at night and the Butterfly at day; they meet each other at the edge of the forest where the dark shadows allows for the Moth to reside while the daylight on the plain allows for the Butterfly to reside. One day however the Butterflies' father announces that the "herd" of Butterflies (I don't know what you call a bunch of butterflies together) will be moving to the "Promise Land" where there are plenty of flowers and nectar for the Butterfly colony to flourish and prosper. The Butterfly before she leaves, managed to leave a note for the Moth saying where she is going and says goodbye. The Moth, shattered by this news, decides to journey to where she is going; despite the fact that the area to where she is going doesn't have any heavy forest areas. Grabbing the flower that reminds him of the time he spent with her, he ventures out at night and eventually has the courage to travel during the daytime. The Moth along the way meets a bunch of interesting friends including... - A Praying Mantis who is an Atheist - A Ladybug with a macho-man attitude - A Cricket with Restless Legs Syndrome - A Fly who is easily scared and lacks courage to stand up to others - A Bat who can't stop talking and has Tourettes (I imagine him being played by Jack Black) Eventually the group makes it to the "Promise Land" only to find out the place is a barren wasteland that has no flowers. Eventually they find the remains of the Butterfly's group and the Moth believes that his love died until the Father of the girl Butterfly convinces him that she is still alive. In a flashback he reveals that the wasteland was a prosperous plain with thousands of flowers where many insects resided and shared the land in peace by the time the Butterfly's group arrives. The next day however the entire plain gets destroyed as construction machines used by humans tear up the field as a large corporation had bought the land and had ordered that the land be paved. Some of the bugs try to stop the humans from destroying their paradise, but eventually the humans bring out spray bottles filled with pesticide which destroys all the flowers and bugs. The female Butterfly is wounded but is saved by a construction worker who takes the weakened Butterfly home in a jar. With his dying breath the father asks the Moth and his group to rescue his daughter and gives his permission for the Moth to marry his daughter with his final breath. It is revealed that the construction worker who gives the Butterfly to her son as he collects bugs for a habit. Eventually the Moth and his group find her and hundreds of other bugs trapped in picture frames. They managed to fight the boy off and realize all the bugs that were captured. The Moth and his group soon lead the Bugs back to the area where the story first opened where the Butterfly buries the seeds of the flower in the ground as a memorial to those who died. The movie ends with the plain area where the movie first started in has become populated with tons of flowers, becoming the Paradise that the Moth, Butterfly, his friends, and the freed bugs reside. It is also revealed that the Moth and Butterflies children can reside in both day and night. So what do you guys think of my idea for my plot as a Pixar Movie? Also if this isn't the correct place for this thread then I give permission to move it. Good day fellow Vizzed members.
