As you all know, the site has been slow and getting slower over the past month. It's beyond me why this is happening and I've dedicated many hours trying to figure it out. I may have come up with a possible solution that I plan to implement today so I'll be undergoing site maintenance for the next 8-12 hours (8 am to 8 pm central time). The site will most likely be up most of this time but if it goes down for a little while or if parts of the site become unavailable temporarily, this is why.


Staff : Starting at 8 AM central time, please don't add any content to any games during this maintenance. Things that you can still do include:
-Adding and assigning screenshots
-Adding boxart graphics
-Writing Reviews, Walkthroughs and Articles
-Adding Videos
-Rating Screenshots and Videos


If anyone has any questions, please ask in this thread. Thanks.

What do you think could be the cause of the site loading and or running slow, I always thought it ran slow at times due to stress on the servers especially with all the members here jumping from page to page on the site? Could it be a problem with the servers? Anyway's good luck with trying to fix this issue.

Divine Aurora : I don't know what the problem is because the site sometimes runs slow even during the dead hours. Also worth pointing out is that the site's traffic has dropped by nearly half over the past month and that should've increased the site speed but it didn't. It could be a DDoS of some sort.

Davideo7 : You think its a DDoS attack?In the sense of the attack saturating the target machine with external communications requests, so much so that it cannot respond to  legitimate traffic quickly?

Divine Aurora : I think it could be an attack of some sort, possibly a DDoS attack that is targeting one of the servers.

Davideo7 : I've noticed that I have not been able to keep any games after I've played them for the past month. Is that because it's been under maintenance. I bought MOTHER 1 + 2 with the English translation but it never appeared on my profiles games list. The same goes for other games. It has been doing this for the past month.

All of the Retro Game Room games are free during the Site Maintenance. And since they're free you didn't pay any Viz so you don't get to keep them.

I have one question, sometimes if I look at a page on Vizzed, I see a white screen. (Actually I can see the page for a second but then it becomes white.) Do you think this is also a thing what happens if the speed is low? Or is this something else on Vizzed which is acting strange or working not good? Take your time with your answer and I don't mind if you don't know the answer.

Simple just take your time with this. Ignore people who are saying this the whole time ~ Hurry up!
Because of this I would love to ask everyone this ~ Don't ask David to hurry up, he's doing his best for us to make the speed of Vizzed better!
I'm seeing things like that on Facebook sometimes, it's pretty annoying.

So the site maintenance ended after going on for a month? That's very disappointing. Good luck with the maintenance and hopefully it will work! I'm really tired of it being slow when I'm on. And if it isn't slow it's down.

iseeu44 : That is because all games are free to play  during the maintenance but you can not keep them, that is why they don't show up brought on your profile games page.

I hope the site isn't being DDoS'd... There's a big problem of owning a popular site = the jealous people want to ruin it for you.
Sometimes the site just refuses to load - basically I wait for about 10 minutes before it loads a white screen without anything on it. I sort of hope it's my computer, but then I sort of hope it's the site.

I probably joined near the worst time possible, but I hope everything gets better soon. Good luck with your job, David; I Hope it all goes well.
As for me, I might just go and post. I don't really want to lose my save data on games.

Could it be my fault for advertising and trying to get Vizzed to be a popular thing? Could certain people be so against the idea of having a website where people can friendly converse with each other without the fear of someone hating or flaming or trolling? This is one of the bigger reasons I usually throw in when I talk about vizzed in person.
