Not going to count ones from ROM hacks, emulators and cheats, as that would be difficult, but in my copy of Pokemon White 2, I have currently caught 3 shinies, and earned 1 prize shiny.

Here they are:

Mint the Watchog was my first. I found her while trying to hatch a female Oshawott, running through the grass in Route 1. I wasn't paying attention, and was absentmindedly hitting the D-Pad to get steps needed to hatch my egg, and looking away from the TV, I saw that I had come across a Shiny!

After having to explain to my mom why this was such an important thing in the game (I thing I made a noise that concerned her), I tossed a Quick Ball just to see if I didn't need to battle, as all my 'mons on my team at the time were too overpowered to go against a Level 52 Watchog without making it faint. Got her on the first throw.

Mint is named for the shade of green the markings are one her. I had only owned the game for 12 days at the time.

Lapis the Bouldore was found about 40 wild encounters after Mint, in Twist Mountain. Certainly took me by surprise, as I hadn't expected another Shiny encounter for a long time, and I don't have any sort of game modifiers to make it happen, so this was purely luck. Thankfully, most, if not all, Bouldores have the ability "Sturdy", and I just had to hit him with a ton of damage, let him hold onto that last hit point and chuck a ball or two at him. I didn't want to waste too many balls, but a Dusk Ball did the trick, as it was night time and inside a cave.

Lapis is named for not only the blue coloration on him, but also the fact that lapis lazuli is a naturally occurring blue rock that is mined. Double meaning there!

Citrine the Pillowsine was found in Giant Chasm when I was hunting for a Ditto to do an in game trade for a Rotom, and while training my Sealeo so I could evolve him. Again, another surprise, and was my  third Shiny found within 3058 encounters.

Citrine is named for his yellow coloring, and citrine is also a yellow (or orange) gemstone.

Piccolo the Dragonite (formerly a Dragonair and Dratini) is my prize for completing the White Treehollow  Challenge. The name is actually a bit more complex in choice: Piccolo is named after one my favorite male anime characters of all time, Piccolo from "Dragon Ball Z":

Not only do they both have green coloration with some shade of purple... but the antennae thing brought the namesake to mind as well, and the whole "Dragon" relation aspect. Plus, the move pool has enough attacks and defense things to replicate some of Piccolo's own attacks and such, so that's cool too.

B619ook: I still still haven't gotten a single shiny yet! I would do anything for one. Maybe in the upcoming Ruby and Sapphire remakes, I'll get one randomly..?

I think I have a total of ten shinies  in diamond and pearl, the first shiny I caught was a cubone and I just said "What a disgustingly looking cubone, I must have it." I also have a shiny Eevee that I found on accident haha. I don't remember the rest since my Ds Lite is broken and won't turn on.

In actual games, meaning on the DS or Game boy, not counting event shinies, only about 3. One was a Lanturn, one was a Magikarp, and the other was a Poochyena. However, I've caught countless shinies if I include emulators. Just the other day I caught a shiny Trapinch in Ruby.

Leaf Green: Zubat
Pearl: Geodude
Platinum : 4 Starlys and 2 Machops
Still have all of them. Also once traded an egg that hatched a shiny lickitung back on fire red.

I caught a shiny yanma in a horde battle !! After that I traded it for a shiny gligar which I raised it to a shiny gliscor. Also I have a few shiny legendaries but I wouldn't say I caught them.

Let's see...

In Sapphire, I remember catching a shiny Electrike.

In SoulSilver I snagged a green Ursaring (yes, I named it Care Bear. Very fitting for a violent grizzly.),

In diamond I wasn't paying attention to the bidoof I was fighting (tv or something happened) and I needed an HM slave for my team at the time. Good thing I caught it!.

In Emerald, a shiny Mawile.

...also caught the obvious red Gyarados in Crystal, but that bad boy doesn't count here, baha.

Currently I have only caught 4 shinys, Rattata, Pidgey, Caterpie and Fearow. First 3 were in a hacked version that the encounter rates were 5% more so idk if they count. But Fearow was in Pokemon FireRed so i was super happy about that until I just gave up on my Super Gameboy Advanced SP ever working again :c.

I have never legitimately caught any other than shiny gyarados (but I'm guessing you don't count that). Once I found a shiny mime jr in Pokémon X but it was in a horde so I had to kill the others first, and when there was only 2 left, the game said "game card has been removed". It was horrible. I know mime jr isn't that good, but there's always bragging rights.

Aside from getting a ton of shiny pokemon from trading (mostly in X an Y) I also have bred 10-15 shiny pokemon as well, some of which include ghastly, froakie (finally after 123 eggs!) and beldum. I have also encountered 4 or 5 pokemon through either horde encounters or even friend safari. I'd say that I've received most of my shiny pokemon from the above methods, or through the masuda method as well as chain fishing. I like the new methods in X and Y, but I really hope they don't make it any easier to find shiny pokemon in future games because nowadays a lot of people get hacked pokegen shinies through cheating, whereas other people actually hunt for them. Nonetheless I've racked up quite the collection of legit shinies.

I started playing HeartGold again the other day, and it just so happened to be Tuesday so I went and did the bug catching contest. Ended up finding a shiny Venonat, to my surprise. Sadly, I ended up only getting 2nd place with it; I lost to a Paras of all things.

Razor-987 : You say 123 eggs like that's a lot...? I don't have a lot of experience breeding shinies, but I got a Mudkip after 498 eggs and a Deino after 210 eggs and I consider myself lucky for that. I wish I could hatch shinies after 123 eggs lol

Most of my shiny Pokemon have been acquired by trading, so I'll just list the ones I've caught over the years (which, I think, is only like 2 or 3 ).

If I remember correctly, my first shiny was a shiny Swinub in the Ice Path on my old Pokemon Gold version. Didn't know how special it was because I had no idea what a shiny Pokemon was back then.

I've ran into a couple others since then (a shiny Weedle also on Gold that I didn't catch because I was dumb, a shiny Rhyhorn that got away from me since it was in the Sapphire Safari Zone where Pokemon get away from you so easily...), and finally caught another one a few months ago on Black 2 (a shiny Swadloon).

I believe that's every single one that I've actually came across in the wild. All the others I have were traded to me or acquired from the GTS (and most of those are very blatant hacks ).

Over the course of my history with Pokemon, the only shiny Pokemon I've ever had the pleasure of having was a Gyarados. xD I think you can figure out how I got it!

...oh yeah, I also got a shiny Pichu in an event once.

Ahhh, this thread makes me sad... :/ In Black 2, I caught a shiny Growlithe and named him SHINee, after the Korean band, heheh. I played with him throughout the whole game, evolving him into an Arcanine, and leveling him up to around 70-80, can't remember. Sooo the sad part is that after a while, I forgot about him and started a new file, and now he's lost forever. ;w;

I have played from the very first generation.  In total I have only caught around 5 or 6 shinies in all of my around 3000+ hours I have poured into all the games over the years.  Most of them also where obtained in my play through of X version.  Tried to do some shiny hunting using the techniques that were there but had no such luck.  Still most of my shiny Pokémon are pretty useless, got a numel, tailow, pidgey, volbeat, and like a shinx.
