Well, hello everyone. It has been a while ever since I made a game review. So I was just looking around the retro game room for some good Sonic hacks. And eventually I found this game, but it's not really the best, not so bad either. Okay, maybe a little bad but lets start talking about the game.

So basically in this hack of Sonic the hedgehog, you play as Mighty the Armadillo, another forgotten character. Some of you who are reading this may or most likely may not know who he is. He has shown up in 2 games from what I know (other than hacks). He was in knuckles' chaotix and Segasonic the hedgehog. Mighty has also shown up in lots of other Sonic hacks. Anyways I am not here to talk about who Mighty the Armadillo is, I'm here to make a review about this game!

Gameplay: 7

Well, the thing that really sucks about this game is that there isn't really anything special about Mighty in this hack. He is the same exact thing like Sonic as if it's the original Sonic the hedgehog. No wall jump, no homing attack, no double jump, no double attack. . . etc. In fact, he can't even spin dash in this game!

The only thing he can do is just jump and run just like the original Sonic in the original game! Also the physics is pretty much the same like the original game too. When he runs down a hill, he won't go fast unless you press down and roll down the hill. However, there are other modified things here though, but not much.

Also the level selection screen still works just like the Original Sonic the hedgehog. In the start screen were Mighty shows up, press up, down, left, right, and then hold A and press enter. And then you can explore more in the game!

Things that were changed in the game:

Ok, so there are actually a few things that were sort of changed. The levels are sort of modified, well, only a little bit. Actually only green hill zone is modified. The rest just has lots of color changes were I will talk about for the graphics.

Here is a brief list of what has been changed:

1. Sonic the Hedgehog has been replaced by Mighty the Armadillo. (obviously, lol.)
2. Color of all the levels has been changed which I will talk about more in the graphics section.
3. Green hill zone has been mostly modified, plus they sort of remixed the green hill zone background music which I will talk about in the sound section.
4. All the levels has been renamed. Not really the best names in the world but they are just names.
5. The title screen has obviously been changed which I will talk about in the graphics section.
6. The text (or font) of the level selection screen has also been changed.

Here is what each level has been renamed to:

1. Green hill zone to Blue grass zone.
2. Labyrinth zone to Aquapolis zone.
3. Marble zone to Magma Castle zone.
4. Star light zone to Gold base zone.
5. Spring yard zone to Natural yard zone.
6. Scrap brain zone to Mechanic Angel zone.
7. Final zone to the Machine zone. (Um. . . Seriously?)

So there are lots of changed things here I guess. But mostly just graphics, colors and names. Also this game is a little glitchy at times. But honestly in my opinion, nothing special. But I can't really rate it that low because the original Sonic the hedgehog wasn't rated low. I have to compare them to give the right ratings.

Now let us talk about the graphics, sound, Addictiveness, Story, Depth, and Difficulty!

Graphics: 7

Well, the graphics aren't so bad, but not so good either. And it's the most thing that was changed in the game. The colors of all the levels in this game has been changed. Not really the best colors but not the worst. Green hill zone or blue grass zone was all blue instead of green. And the colors in that zone seemed a little dull in my opinion. However, all others zones seems alright I guess. But the original graphics and colors were much better. Also the level selection screen's text/font was changed. I guess it looks better but it doesn't really matter that much. Also the title screen changed. Mighty basically just pops out standing while smiling. Doesn't really do much of an animation and the area for the title screen thats supposed to look like green hill zone looks pretty creepy and dull. The river seems normal but the trees and bushes are purple while the sky is dark purple. Scary in my opinion. And the mighty sprite seems pretty much the same like his knuckles' chaotix sprite.

Sound: 5

Ouch my ears. lol. Anyways not much of the sounds in this hack was changed. All the same like the original Sonic the hedgehog just except for 2 things. The first one is the part were the Sega logo shows up and then someone just yells Sega in a funny and weird voice, but there isn't really nothing wrong with that. The Second one is that the green hill zone or blue grass zone background music is pretty much messed up. It's as if the creator of this hack did this on purpose. The harmonic structure of the sound is pretty much messed up and really high pitched. You might want to lower your speaker when playing the first zone. It will really give you a headache. Other than the harmonic structure of the background music, everything else is pretty much the same. And all other Zones and sounds are unchanged. So remember, lower your speakers before playing green hill zone or blue grass zone! lol. Also a very weird thing that I noticed when you complete a level is that usually when the sign post would switch from Dr. Eggman to Mighty, instead it switches from some weird evil looking rat to Mighty. I actually don't know who that rat is myself. Maybe a forgotten boss or something? If you know who that evil looking rat is then please tell me by replying to this review! And thats all... For the graphics!

Addictiveness: 4

Well, the game isn't addictive, not addictive at all actually. The levels are all the same except for green hill zone and the colors and Mighty the Armadillo doesn't have any special signature moves. So pretty much playing the Original Sonic the hedgehog is as if you are playing a better version of this hack. And thats all for the addictiveness. I honestly don't know what else to say here.

Story: 6

Ugh. . . Just the plain old story. Almost all of the Sonic hacks I have played never changed that old story! And here is the plain old story mentioned again! Dr. Eggman the dictator is using innocent animals as a source for his evil inventions to take over the world and it is up to ~~Sonic the hedgehog~~, Mighty the Armadillo to go and defeat Dr. Eggman before it is too late! Yep, you guys already know this story. The only thing that I have mentioned before that leaves me confused is the evil looking rat in the sign post. I just don't know who he is. Maybe he was in another game with Mighty and he was probably an evil boss. lol, he is definitely a forgotten boss! I don't even know him myself! lol. Well, nothing else to say here. And that is all for the same, old, and unchanged story!

Depth: 5

Well, this hack of Sonic the hedgehog honestly doesn't have that much depth here. Since Mighty the Armadillo doesn't have any signature moves just the like original Sonic the hedgehog, then it makes the gameplay pretty boring. Also as I already mentioned, all the levels are the same exact thing just except for green hill zone (or blue grass zone). I guess having the first zone pretty much changed would trick the player into thinking that all the other zones are different, but after I played the other zones, I didn't see a lot of changes.
No signature moves for Mighty the Armadillo + Most levels are the same = Low depth rating and boring gameplay, lol.
Nothing else to say here. And thats is all for the Depth!

Difficulty: 6

As I have mentioned in my previous reviews for other hacks for Sonic the hedgehog, it pretty much starts easy and then ends up very hard. And that is true. But for this game, the modified green hill zone (or blue grass zone) is actually a little harder that the original green hill zone in the original game. So the way of how levels goes from easy to hard was sort of changed but only in the first zone. So, nothing else to say here.

Overall: 6

Hands down the best review of a hack I have ever seen. I had no problem reading this. Sometimes a review as long as this will overwhelm me and I will end up skipping or skimming it. I did not have to do that with your review, I loved what you had to say. Now on the game lol. I have played this before just because I really like Mighty. I always use him as my sidekick in Knuckles Chaotix. I completely agree with everything you had to say. Keep up the good work friend!

This is an excellent review from you man. Great job! Is this your longest post or review? Because you were concerned about post Exp and making larger posts to help boost it, this is a great start and this is an amazing review, you have amazing effort and detail put into your review. Even though the game might have been weird, you still did a great job of explaining that and stating what made it weird and that is very important in a review, evidence and reasoning for your points, and your review had all of those things, I think this should be featured, this is just great.Keep it up and keep making more awesome reviews!
