Yeah I have always called him Dr. Robotnik, I just have and that is the name I have always used since I started playing sonic games. In fact, I have no idea how he got the name eggman in the first place. A lot of people I know just call him Dr. Eggman which makes sense and nobody just calls him eggman, even though no one I know calls him Robotnik anymore. I still call him that though.

I will always end up calling him Dr. Robotnik since I owned my first Sonic game and read the description. His name is just fitting to me for what he does, builds robots, uses them for his own desires. I mean I can understand the slanderous name, he's kind of a -ahem- rounded gentleman. But I like to take Sonic games a little seriously (serious speedruns and stuff but I don't always play it ina  serious tone all the time) and trying to call him Eggman is just meh. Not saying I take Sonic so serious to the point i'd chew someones head off for the Eggman name and such, its just not for me is all.
