The original "Two Worlds" is not on this site. So, I'm combining this review of "Two Worlds 2" With "Two worlds". The scores up top are for Two Worlds II, as that's the game on this site. To start off this double review, "Two Worlds 2"

Two Worlds II
Who... in their right mind thought to make a sequel to something like Two Worlds. I actually didn't notice Two Worlds II until quite recently when I was at a video game store. I literally laughed out loud in the middle of the store. So I spent my money, just so I could review it. I figured if they were to try to make a game again, then they must think its good. Did they do it any better this time? Find out here.

Gameplay: It improved from the first game, but that's like saying a slug is WAY faster than a rock, either way, it doesn't mean much.

The controls aren't great. I think they were trying to emulate MMORPG's with this game, but MMORPG's have keyboards, there  are plenty of buttons to use, the XBOX360 does not have many buttons. The controls for walking and running are very hard to  describe. Its hard to move to a precise location, because the controls are very loose. Watch gameplay and you might get what I'm  trying to say. Since the XBOX360 has a small amount of buttons compared to MMORPG's, so things like sneak and sprint are  used on the same button.....  however hard that may sound, trust me, its harder. Also, things like the map that should be on  select or start are on the main buttons, which is kind of pointless. This game requires a lot of buttons to use, and they also waste  them.

Combat isn't much better. This game is still a mind-numbing button masher like the first game was. To even be able to fight, you  have to unsheathe your sword, which is completely pointless. Your character performs incredibly strange moves with his sword,  which no human being would use in a sword fight.

Graphics: The graphics saw a huge improvement from the first game (You don't say?). Compared to other games released in 2011, the environments actually look okay, but Two Worlds wont let me go through a single category without saying something they did wrong, so I have to cover the characters. They look bad, and I mean bad. The main characters have original outfits, but the outfits of everyone that isn't a main character leaves much to be desired. But, because the creators like sharing the love with everyone, they made sure that everyone animates terribly (what nice people). The movements are incredibly strange. They have the physical acting abilities of a second grader.

Sound: Its basically the same situation as the first game. The sound is bland and nothing special. I would advise you just to turn the volume off.

Voice acting: It improved a lot from the first game, but its still terrible. The actors aren't expressive, and when they are, they over  express. They don't put emotion into their parts.

Writing: Again, the writing improved, but it still isn't great. At the very best, it's sub-par.

Addictiveness: I never wanted to keep playing this game. There is nothing to motivate you. The story is bad, the voice-acting and writing are bad, and the gameplay is bad. There are no redeeming factors to this game. I will not ever play it again, and I mean that.

Story: Gandahar has returned...... with not explanation whatsoever. He has trapped your hero and Kyra, his sister from the first game and is torturing them. He then puts Kyra under and evil spell as you are rescued by orcs. You then realize that you have to save Kyra again (geez, I wonder where that one was from.... *holds up Two Worlds*). So your character defeats Gandahar and lives happily ever after.

Yes its the same basic premise as the last game, but there is a bit more

There are tons of side quests to do, as this game is trying to emulate an MMORPG. These sidequests are faced with a problem though, they really don't add anything. All they are is doing something for someone, they don't motivate you through any means besides reward, and that isn't something we should be thinking about. Our character should help people because he wants to, but the game implants through our mind that its just about the reward, because it doesn't attempt to motivate us.

And now, for a plot hole. This game tries to set up a love interest between your character and an orc, but it really is never expanded on and it leaves you thinking "Hey what about her"

Depth: The main story itself doesn't take very long to complete. But the game is filled with needless side-quests that don't add anything important to the game. It has depth, but it isn't good depth.

Difficulty: This game is plagued with bad controls and gameplay. It wouldn't be so difficult if they could have tried a little harder with the control, if it were better, this rating would be lower.

So that's Two Worlds, its better than the first game by an enormous amount, but again, that's not saying much.

Two Worlds Review

Once in a while, I like to review bad games, and two worlds has always been at the top of my list of bad games to review. Bad games are so easy to review because I have so much to say about them, though I've always held off of "Two Worlds" because Pro-Jared already talked about it on his YouTube channel, and I figured all of the comments on this thread would be "Pro-Jared did it".  Guys, points I make in this review are experiences I had while playing this game, and it is original content.

Two Worlds was met with a huge amount of hype. Gamers were excited for what was said to be the next Oblivion, heck, the creators even said that Two worlds would put Oblivion to shame. The hype continued to its release date in 2007, once it was released, gamers bought Two Worlds and stuck it in their XBOX360's

And their lives would never be the same.

I got it soon after its release date, making me one of the people who experienced the horror with everyone else. Those who got the game were met with terrible voice acting, sub-par graphics, and horrible gameplay. I wanted to give everyone this game's back story before I dive into it. This is Ender44, doing a special double review, and here is Two Worlds.

Gameplay: The gameplay is easily the worst part of this game. It offers nothing for the player. I cant laugh at it like I can at the voice acting and the story, its just so bad. The gameplay is just so unsatisfying. At least games like Skyrim had some strategy to them. This game was trying to be like Oblivion and Skyrim, but it turned into a button masher. This game consists of pressing the attack button until something dies. Want to know the icing on the cake? This unsatisfying gameplay is too much for the game. As soon as you begin a fight, the frame rate drops significantly. The game begins to skip and move slowly as you try to fight through the enemies. Though, a game that tries to emulate Oblivion will obviously have more than just fights. This games true main mechanic is walking, and you use it a lot, not just to navigate the world, but it is the main thing you have to do to complete the quests. Seriously most quests in this game are talk to this guy, go back and talk to the guy who told you to talk to the second guy, and on and on. This game is also littered with bugs, whether it be the game skipping, me being able to walk through a few walls, or me falling through the floor.

Graphics: These were incredibly disappointing. Games like Portal came out on the same year on the same platform and Portal looks infinitely better. This game looks like a passable PS2 game, it wouldn't even look all that good if you put it as a last generation game, its that bad. This game's environments suffered the same fate as Skyrim, it advertised great environments, but I didn't see it that way. The environments were bland and boring to look at. The towns are stereotypical medieval towns, and they are nothing special. The characters look okay, though the main character's outfit is kind of a rip-off of the main character from Assassin's Creed's outfit. The characters animate terribly though, it looks clunky and they over emphasize and under emphasize what normal movements should be.

Sound: Oh man, I'm laughing as I write this. Before I start on music and sound effects, I have to cover the voice acting. It is so hilarious. No, its not because of funny jokes, it because of the wonderful combination of terrible voice acting and horrible writing.

Voice Acting: Its so bad that I literally love it, look up a youtube video of it, seriously, its great. I did a play in 9th grade that  had acting a thousand times better than this. The "actors" put zero emotion into each poorly written sentence, and when they  try to put emotion into it,  they  do it wrong. The actors pause at random times, and don't even sound like they want to be  doing it. The voice acting doesn't go uphill  or downhill throughout the game, it starts out badly. You start to notice the voice  acting in the first sentence of the game. The one "actor" that does a passable job gets kidnapped in the very beginning of  the  game, so we don't get to hear passable voice acting until we rescue    her at the end of the game.

Writing: The bad voice actors were given an even worse script to read. It sounds like an uneducated person's idea of what  people talked like in medieval times. Every time they use words like 'tis and 'twas, it sounds out of place and odd. The bad  writing is seen from the get-go. The second sentence in the game is a Monty Python reference..... seriously. "tis just a flesh  wound", intentional or not, its only the second sentence of the game and I don't take it seriously. Through the rest of the games  there are times when it tries to be funny, and it  never works out well. The best way for me to describe the writing is,  someone Sixteen years old could write it better.

Music: Surprisingly enough, its quite good. Its better than anything I heard in Skyrim or Oblivion. It sets the mood pretty well.  You might be thinking that I'm talking about all the music in the game, I'm not, I'm talking about the title theme. The title theme is  great, and it sounds  awesome. The rest of the music however, is not. The overworld sounds leave a lot to be desired and the  sounds of various creatures and    animals comes close to outright annoying.
My advice, turn the volume down and crank up some castlevania music

Addictiveness: No, this game is one of the worst I have ever played. Having to sit through the while thing literally makes me feel like I'm suffering. It has awful gameplay, horrible writing, terrible voice acting, and it lacks that thing we cal fun. It has one redeeming factor though, the voice acting is hilarious. The voice acting is so bad that I literally wanted to play the game so I could hear it again, its a personal thing, and its the one thing that makes me want to keep playing.

Story: "Well Ender, everything else has been pretty bad, is the story good?" "Ha! You think Two Worlds did something right? Of course the story isn't good!"
No, the story isn't good. Its cliche and it is about as engaging as watching paint dry while holding your breath for 6 hours, in other words its like watching the first Star Wars movie.
We start the game with Desmond from Assassin's Creed in a brown version of his outfit (yes I will continue to call him Desmond.) Desmond's sister is injured and is soon kidnapped by Garbatar (Oh, its Gandahar..... but it sounds just as silly as Garbatar.) Gandahar is trying to awaken a god that was killed many years ago. And here comes the biggest cliche of any quest. To revive the god, Gandahar needs a key, a key that can only be obtained by getting keys representing..... *sigh*.... the four elements. Seriously, we have enough of the collect four elements quest. Quest64, Final Fantasy, Legend of Zelda: Minish cap, and the list goes on. Either way, you go to different towns, collect the keys, make the key, kill Gandahar, and save your sister. This story was thoroughly non-enjoyable and left me feeling unsatisfied and with no sense of accomplishment.

Depth: This game has the worst kind of depth. Its a game that shouldn't have a lot of depth, but does by making everything as tedious as possible for the player. Each quest takes up about two miles of walking. The real depth is the four objectives, and the bosses, that's all that really matters. There are armors and swords you can obtain also.

Difficulty: This game was quite difficult, and its the games fault. It has no sense of skill scaling. You kill some mediocre enemies and then the game decides that you are the greatest warrior in all of the land and sends you up against enemies that are incredibly difficult to defeat. The bosses are also very difficult to beat, and they will take tons of tries. Though, the horrible frame rate and skipping during combat may be to blame, we may never know.

That is Two Worlds and Two Worlds 2, truly a disappointment in gaming. I would advise you not to play it, and certainly not to pay money to play it. If you want to experience the horrible voice acting, then just look up a video.

So, that's Two Worlds and Two Worlds two. Both games had voice-acting, writing, sound, environments, gameplay, control, and stories that just weren't good. The game company tried to feed off of the success of both Oblivion and MMORPGs, but in both cases it made us remember how much better those things were than what we were playing. I would just stick to Oblivion or World of Warcraft, you will have way more fun, you can thank me later.

This is Ender44, ending my first Two-reviews-review. Thanks for reading, wow, almost 3,000 words of what I had to say. If you made it this far, then thanks, it means a lot. This review and all of my others take a long time for me to make, and I suffer through bad games like this so you don't have to.

I have played very few games for the Xbox 360:

Sonic Unleashed. (but only a little, bombchu link on the other hand plays it a fair amount)

Sonic Generations:  I loved this game.

Minecraft:  can't. . . put. . . down. . . the. . . controller!

ugh, and I still have to finish that fourth playthrough of OOT and I have to finish playing Cave story
on the Wii.

I have played a few sport and racing games with my Dad, including madden, but not that heavily.

Is it just me, or does the Xbox Series kinda lack good games?

But anyways, moving on to the game that you reviewed.

I only read about Two Worlds II

A human falls in love with an orc?

Wow, great tastes man. . . @.@

A lot of button mashing eh?
Seems a lot of games will do that nowadays.
Yeah, and unrealistic sword swings? I get tired of stuff like that too.

I guess that Zelda has a
little of that in it, but I tried to duplicate it's sword swings in
real life. They're fairly realistic.

Was there anything that you liked in the game.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
