I think Fire Emblem would fall more into modern so I choose that and I think Pokemon falls into fantasy since you know Pokemon are well creatures made up while Fire Emblem is based on people.

I enjoy both, they both can be very fun. However I believe that RPGs based on modern times tend to be more unique and less cliched overall.

I'm all Modern RPG's! Earthbound and the other two Mother games fall into that category, and they're such great games! Pokemon is really swell, too.
