I miss the old nickelodeon! I miss all the awesome nicktoons like Doug, rugrats, ren and stimpy, catdog, rocko's modern life?and hey arnold...Now all we have is a bunch of teen sitcoms! But while stumbling upon my local used game store, I happened to find this game, Hey Arnold the movie?for the GBA. Will this be a great nicktoons game, or a bad nicktoons game? Let's see!
Story-7/10 One day in Arnold's neighborhood, Arnold and his friends are just relaxing, then suddenly, Arnold discovers an evil dude named sheck is planning buy all of the properties of in Arnold's neighborhood so that he can convert it into a futuristic shopping mall.?Now...will Arnold save the neighborhood? Or leave the neighborhood in pieces? Let's find out!
Gameplay-7/10 Hey Arnold the movie is your typical platformer, heck! Almost every licensed game tends to be a platformer! For a GBA game, the controls are pretty simple, A is jump, B is attack, L is cycle through your weapons, And R is charge. You will have a bunch of weapons at your disposal, such as gum, tomatoes, and basketballs. In each level, You will have to do certain objectives, so not?every level is just "Get to the end while defeating enemies" Objectives include, Find your friends, Delivering?letters to mailboxes, etc.?You will control 4 characters through the whole game, Arnold, Gerald, Grandpa, and Grandma.
Graphics-9/10 Wow! The graphics are pretty good for a GBA game! All the worlds are bright and bursting with color...same goes with all the characters you will be controlling, they have alot of detail. The hud is pretty self explanitory too, the top left hand corner shows your amount of coins and health, the top right hand corner shows how many extra lives you have left, and the middle of the screen shows your current selected?weapon.
Sound-8/10 For a GBA game, the music and sfx are pretty catchy! For example, the last level has a great "This is your last chance to get it right" feel. For 2002, this isn't bad! You can find the soundtrack on youtube!
Addictiveness-6/10 This game is pretty fun to go back to after you beat it. There are golden tomatoes in every level. I don't really see a purpose of these....
Depth-6/10 Like I said, theres not a whole lot of reasons to go?back to this game after you beat it. Besides the golden tomatoes....The game is pretty short actually! You can probably beat it in 2 hours!
Difficulty-6/10 This game is quite hard in certain parts! I died quite alot of times in certain levels! The first boss kicked my butt quite a few times! But otherwise, the game is pretty easy.
Overall-8.2/10 Overall! This game is pretty good! I'm not going to say that it's bad! It kept me quite busy for quite a few weeks! You can buy this game brand new for $12 on Amazon. And remember! If you ever want me to review a game! Just request me!
