Hello! I haven't done a review in a few days so I'm going to start scripting them again. I thought I'd write another Atari 2600 game review, I'm going to be reviewing 'Spider-Man' for the A26. I hope you enjoy this review.

Alright Lets Go!

Graphics 7/10

Considering this is an Atari 2600 game, I'm not going to be very harsh and take other consoles into consideration. The graphics in this game are a lot more advanced than the Pac-Man game for the Atari 2600. Although the buildings and other features are all 2D Shaped making them look flat with no texture. reminding me of a chess board, I really like the coloring and shading. The colors may be bland and really obscure but they are a lot easier on the eye than the Pac-Man color scheme. Yellow & Pink aren't that nice of colors, but they do make a serious impact on the graphics, for the better. The Spider-Man character actually is very well made, he looks sort-of identical to the movie's Spider-Man. The sky was really uneven, I don't know why they thought purple was an attractive color for the sky. But overall, the graphics are pretty decent for an Atari 2600 game.

Sound 5/10

The sound. What sound? There was hardly any sound in this game. The sounds consisted of getting the bomb, falling, or saving a hostage, and these sounds weren't even that impressive. Having said that, I actually thoroughly enjoyed the sound effect that was used when your character fell to his death, hitting the ground. The splat sound effect used was unexpectedly hilarious. Splat sounds are always funny to hear once in a while, however for me, I hear them a lot. I died so many times in this game. I thoroughly enjoyed the sound effect used when you complete the level in this game. It gives you a feeling of accomplishment, which is always exciting. Overall, the game was too quiet for me and I wasn't too impressed with the sounds and effects in the game.

Addictiveness 8/10

I'm not going to lie, Atari 2600 games, putting all the graphics, sounds and visual aids aside, the games are thoroughly enjoyable and really deserve credit. I really enjoyed playing this game! It's also one of those 'venerable' classics that you just can't put down, and just want to keep playing to succeed. This game, like the Pac-Man game, really contributed to my childhood. It's too fun, especially if you play the worth out of the game. It becomes very challenging after a while, to be fully honest, it's challenging from the start. It took me a good 10 to 15 minutes trying to get the hang of the game and to actually learn how to move. It was interesting trying to save the hostages, and it was also very challenging. I have to say, it takes a while trying to reach the climax of the tall building!

Story 4/10

Like most Atari games, there is no story really. The story for this A26 Spider Man game is that you are a crime fighter who must scale a building to save hostages, and diffuse the bomb on the roof within the time limit without falling, or running out of time. The only ''bad guy'' is the green goblin that you have to get past (without him touching you, or you touching him) to get to the climax of the building to diffuse the bomb. Not really complex, but a good story none the less! The thing about Spider-Man is the fact that story really doesn't matter. You don't have to know, or even understand the story to play the game, though it is nice to know the story before playing the game!

Depth 5/10

To be fully honest, there's really no depth to this game. You are a super hero, climbing your way to the top of a very colossal building, saving hostages along the way, trying to diffuse a 'super bomb'. That's basically what the game is about. However, the game is tricky so it will take quite a bit of time to succeed and conquer the game. If you fall from the building, you can die. If you die you must restart the game and try again. Very annoying but also brilliant as it gives you a chance to think about what you done wrong and work on it to succeed.

Difficult 7/10

Spider-Man is not very challenging but it is it very difficult to conquer and succeed. But the plot is all straight forward as I mentioned above. There is only two real challenges in the game, which are undoubtedly the building itself, because you can fall of it of course and die. The other challenge is the Green Goblin at the top of the building, he may be very challenging. If he touches you, you will start falling off the building and perhaps die also, this will reset the game and you will have to try again.

Overall 6.5/10

Overall I can definitely say this game is thoroughly enjoyed, putting all the graphical errors aside . It's a fun game to play when your bored and down, like Pac-Man, it really can impact on your mood and in a sense, really make a positive influence on it. Overall It's definitely worth a try if you haven't already given it one.

Dean2k13 : Again a very good Review Dean.

But some 'wrong' things that can help you for a next Review:
You can't use other colours then the one that you're using in a Post. (White for you.)
You'd also used the Colour: Red.
And a little introduce isn't need, you can start directly with a Review. (Start with the Graphics.)

TornadoMudkip : Thanks for your feedback!

I introduced the game I was reviewing which is perfectly normal. I didn't introduce the review by saying where the game was based, who made it, the year it was made, the system features etc.

I used the color red to highlight the different sections I was addressing, this would make it a lot easier for the reader. Zack has never said anything about it in the past, and I've done it for almost every single review.

However, I will 'try' improve on it, although you can't really improve on what you said. Thanks for stating that my review was very good, I really appreciate your feedback.

Thanks for reading my review!

Dean2k13 : Awesome job on your review! It's detailed, organized, easy to read. . . etc

Just be careful not to use colored text though. Other than that awesome job and keep up the great work!

Once again, you never fail to impress me in your reviews, this is an excellent review and you articulate all of the main points if the game very nicely and you go into vivid detail with each which is great. You are very descriptive and you have lots to say for each part of the game which makes for a very detailed, great review. I think a little introduction is fine and that is what I have started doing in mint, I just give a little summary of the game before going straight into reviewing the game. You don't need it to be super long, but just a little something too kick things off before actually reviewing the game. Overall I thought this was a great review and you did an excellent job as always, keep up the great work and keep making more awesome reviews!

Dean2k13 : Great review, Dean! Like your others, it's very neat and detailed, especially for an Atari game. I also write my reviews with a little introduction; I've looked through the rules and advice and never saw a mention of a review being better off not having an one. The same goes for the coloration of the titles starting the paragraphs, though I haven't done that in the past but I like the idea so I will most likely start to. Since there seems to be no rule you're breaking, you're not doing anything 'wrong'.

There's only one problem I see (a grammatical one). This phrase in the Difficulty section:

"There is only two real challenges in the game, which are undoubtedly the building itself, because you can fall of it of course and die. The other challenge is the Green Goblin at the top of the building, he may be very challenging."

There should be a period after "game" instead of a comma and the beginning of the next sentence should be changed from "Which are" to "One is".  Other than that, you got yourself a 5 star review!
