The Final Fantasy series is an absolutely stunning and brilliant creation for any old or new console. To me, Final Fantasy 2 is an ingenious  storyline, perfectly addicting and beyond entertaining. Who do we have to thank for this wonderful game? Square Soft. I consider Final Fantasy 2 to be on my top 2 list of all time favorite games, right next to Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. I mention this because Square Soft also included a Final Fantasy theme in Super Mario RPG. Without Square Soft, neither of these 2 games would have been the masterpiece that they both are.

I promise that it will be difficult to find a better game than this. The overall quality of this gaming art is priceless in value. This game is intelligent, challenging, leaves you sitting at the edge of your seat, enjoyable, fun and easily worth the time spent playing. Final Fantasy 2 draws you in and doesn't let you go, it's what great games do. Unfortunately for me I was snagged by this game and I have literally played it 100s of times from my early childhood to even now as a 22 year old adult. This is a game for anyone of any age and you will still enjoy it. Final Fantasy 2 opened my mind to the RPG world. It still has a grasp on me to this day! That should be enough evidence be enough evidence of what this game is capable of.

As I reflect on the quality of the SNES through the 90s, it was one very powerful console. The quality of the graphics worked quite well for this game but I'm sure that there was a lot more potential for awesome graphics. These graphics were still great and the final boss was really cool but I know there was room for better. In some ways, the graphics actually made this game more addicting. Whether you're using summon magic or just riding around in your airship, it was still well worth the time. There is no such thing as too much or too little in terms of graphics. I wouldn't complain!

Sound: 10
Anyone who is a real Final Fantasy fan is already aware of some songs that have been repeated over these short years. Some of the most appealing game music ever orchestrated for a game begins as soon as you turn the game on. The main title screen plays Final Fantasy's Crystal Theme. It's harmonious rhythm immediately grabs your attention. This tune truly defines the crystals and what I feel defines what this game is all about. (What I call my favorite song)  The Prologue is a bang that starts a long and epic journey. What's truly remarkable is how these songs have been recycled, abused, re-mastered, re-orchestrated, replayed and present in every Final Fantasy game (in some way) but it still does not get old. How do you describe perfection? You have music that never gets old and beautifully orchestrated. 10 out of 10!

Addictiveness: 10
Let's begin with saying that the music is addictive. The music from the Final Fantasy series is like a very bad but very addicting drug that you can't ever get enough of. I've literally turned the game on (in my younger years when youtube wasn't even an idea yet) to listen to specific songs. Alone, the music makes up half of the addictiveness. The rest of the addictiveness comes from an outstanding storyline (which can be found by reading the rest of this review) and from the game play. Can you resist playing a game a second time when you played it once and beat it but you know that's it's just that good and play it again anyway? That's Final Fantasy 2

Story: 10
The story is intricate and very well designed. It makes you want to read through long texts because you want to know what's being said. The story, itself, is about the journey of a legend as he uncovers his true identity and destiny. What's amazing about this plot is the fact that you can not predict what happens next. It takes you everywhere and like a movie, gives you twists and turns. Honestly, I would have loved to see Final Fantasy movies that reflect the actual game. It would, easily, hit the box office with power. Final Fantasy is all about finding love and romance in the most unlikely of situations while battling vicious monsters, enduring constant war and going on an adventure to find the Crystals to protect the ones you love. If that isn't epic than I don't know what is! This story is perfect to say the least. Is there anything more that needs said? No!

Depth: 8
What I like about the depth of Final Fantasy is the ability to travel to the Underground and the Moon. It's cool that there's more than meets the eye even in a game like this. I also like the fact that you have several methods of transportation.. sailing, hovercraft, Chocobo, airship and even the Blue Whale. The method which Square Soft utilized the transportation was also very unique to the Final Fantasy series. I also liked how in-depth the story had progressed and how some of the characters had grown. The only real thing I could see could be improved is the use for the hovercraft, chocobo and sailing a ship. I would have loved having seen more uses for these. It would have been invaluable to game play.

Difficulty: 8
Although the game is not very challenging, I still feel as though the game was perfect difficulty right where it's at. A game that is too hard loses players from being too difficult while too easy doesn't keep players coming back. Final Fantasy keeps me coming back and it's exactly right where it should be. I also like how each boss is somewhat different than all the rest. In each boss fight, someone is always KO'd so you better play smart and you can't necessarily spam your attack option.

Conclusion:
I've played Final Fantasy 2 too many times to count. I love this game, I love the music and it's very addicting. I've enjoyed the story and I've been playing this game since my childhood. I'm 22 now and I've been playing this since I was 4. If you're into RPG style gaming or you love older games, this would be a great game to start with. If you enjoy it as much as I do, you might even find yourself playing other Final Fantasy games as well. Still one of the best games I've played in all of my gaming experience.

I also want to include the continuation of Final Fantasy 2. An expansion was released to continue the story of Final Fantasy 2 with Final Fantasy 4: The After Years. This takes place 17 years later and brings back the old cast as well as a brand new cast of playable characters. There's a new story and a new epic adventure to boot. New items, new armors and a whole new world! If you love this game, I suggest you try and play the After Years!

Fireproof : Well, I got to admit, your review is pretty good.

It is organized, and you described every detail. (the graphics, sound... etc)

Now all you need to do is just type a little more than that and then it is perfect!

How much more do you want me to type? Are you suggesting I go more in detail about preferences, possibly, or maybe my likes and dislikes for example? I could include those if you think that would support the review and improve it's quality,

Actually, this one has plenty of detail in my opinion. Any review could be improved on, and all reviewers need to bear that in mind. That said, yes, either of your questions are a good idea if used properly. In any case, this is a great review! Impressive work here.
