Well rupees are important in Zelda games so you can purchase supplies and ammo for your journey by the way in super Mario galaxy weren't the currency star bits right?

The video game currency like the most is the coins in the Mario series.

I like the simple term money or points. But,... if you are asking for the favoured sounds or phrases that catch my ear??
I would have to go with "Souls" that are used in "Devil May Cry Series" and "Darksiders Series".
You forget how much you have to spend in a game until they evoke strong words that send chills down the spine with the simple utterance of an item that should belong to another.
(That is if you have a soul yourself. Hahahahaha. Joke.)

I would say the Rings from the Sonic series.

After that one, there's the Star Coins from the Mario series... 

I like the sound both make when you pick'em.

The video game currency I like the most is definitely the coins from the mario series. I also like how if you have one star coin, no matter how many coins you have, except on games like the paper mario and mario e luigi series. the rings from sonic series is also a good currency, since its so easy to get them, unless you are really bad.

The studs from the Lego games are easily my favourite. No matter how much I like Zelda, my favourite way to pay would be with the studs.

My favorite Coins in video games are the star coins from Super Mario World, because they are easy to obtain, its pretty easy to collect thousands of them at a time and save them up, and I would imagine there coins are made from solid gold so they would be worth alot of money, and well because I like the design of them.

I voted for Rupees from Zelda, and bertie bott's every flavor beans (mouthful. bleh) from Harry Potter games (yes, I enjoy Harry Potter games ). Might as well, since multi-voting is enabled.

I said Rupees because they offer a wide variety (like real money denominations), which makes it real, and several colors. Also, they're just cool looking and fun.

I said The beans because there are so many different colors, and like their own currency inside the school, which just makes the game even more enjoyable to me. Also it does a good job maintaining the atmosphere and idea that the game is about kids. I can just picture a bunch of kids trading cards for candy and such.

However, my favorite game currencies aren't on the list (understandable, since an all inclusive list would be near impossible). One of which would be Harvest Moon's "G" (short for gold), because it's like real life currency.

And finally, I actually enjoy games with real life currency the most, like Theme Park. I enjoy balancing a realistic budget in a simulation game.

Chewy Dragonrider : First, the "pac dots" are pallets. Second, I'd say the currency from the Legend of Zelda franchise. I don't know why. Maybe it's because I like SHINY objects, maybe.

I chose rupees from Zelda but if given the choice, I would say either Rings (Sonic), orbs (DMC), or bells (Animal Crossing).

Yeah, for me, it is the star coins.. Nothing else is better! And you could actually trade them in for something in stead of collecting them for no reason. xD.

Star Coins seem to be the best currency to spend AND obtain, since you have 3 in each world, it is awarding to buy worlds, or in NSMB in the DS's case, new layouts for the bottom screen.

Even though I am familiar with most of the coins or money/ currency from these games I would have to go with the rupees from zelda games because you us them to buy weapons and ammunition for your weapon throughout the game and I just really like them. I think this was a tough decision to make because I also like the rings from sonic and the coins from mario games, but I just chose this one because I see it as more useful and saw it in a money kind of way.
