I'm debating whether or not I want to do this one. I love math but my brain doesn't want to do any right now. :/

Singelli : I never noticed that cubit in your post until just now.

Txgangsta : It's ok. You can do it whenever. If you do very well, you can catch up to other people. They won't back down without a fight though

Day 7 is now closed. CAN YOU BELIEVE WE WENT THROUGH A WEEK OF BIBLE TRIVIA? Any feel like they learn something during this week of brain teasing (torturous) content of questions? Let's give a minute to let it sink in on what we've learned....(waited a minute)...ok, enough thinking. Let's get to the answer of yesterday's question.

Question: "Let's say..." you know what, I don't feel like repeating that question. I'm tired from work, I am missing my fix of "Doctor Who", so I'm just gonna lay it out on all y'all. The answer is 200 cubes. Why? Because each cube has a length of 1 cubit. 1 cubit is about 18 inches, so if you line up 200 cubes in a line starting from one endzone, you should get 18x200 inches, or 3600 inches, or 300 feet, or 100 yards, which is the length from endzone to endzone. I'm actually surprised that a lot of you got this right. I guess the order of magnitude help a lot of you guys out if you didn't know how long a cubit is in inches. You can know this info by looking at your footnotes of your Bibles wherever a cubit is mentioned.

Now, the rankings:
Surgiac : 439 (+56)
Light Knight : 390 (+53)
Singelli : 243 (+20)
Eva-Janova : 191 (+55)
pray75 : 187 (+53)
Hoochman_: 131 (0)
Kathrine May Thomson_: 90 (0)
mrfe : 78 (-57)
Eirinn_: 49 (0)
Pokefreak219 : -55 (-45)

I was going to pencil down Light Knight as first place...minutes before I close the question, but Surgiac came in at the last couple of minutes to answer the question with confidence and extended her lead by 3. It seems that everyone except for Singelli answer the question super fast, which is kinda expected since I left the question out there for people to think it through. However, it did cost some people, as mrfe fell from his battle for 4th place by answering the question wrongly in 3 seconds. Meanwhile, Eva-Janova and pray75 continue to push upward and are threatening Singelli's position for 3rd. You better watch out Singelli, for you can never be too careful with a theology student climbing closer to you.

8. Now, I sometimes find it interesting that nowadays, preachers would include phrases in their preaching when they ask the congregation to go open their Bibles. For example, if we are to read in the book of Joshua, the phrases would be like "it is the book before Judges and after Deuteronomy," or "If you are using the church Bible, it is on page 94" or "you can look at the beginning of the Bible to see a table of contents." It is pretty important to know how to navigate through the Bible if you are a reader of the Bible. When I was in younger, a way that I would remember the order in the Bible is through song, and we actually practice this song every Sunday when we have singing practice at church. Obviously, there are many other ways to learn how to memorize the books of the Bible, but the key is to actually do, so that you don't have to rely on the table of contents or for others to help flip own the Bible for you. It might even be a good indication that you haven't been reading your Bible enough if you don't know how to navigate through it. Today, we will test that knowledge...but this one is special. You actually get to CHOOSE your quiz today. I've made two quizzes. One is the Old Testament, one is the New Testament. You need to PICK ONE of these choices and proceed to order 6 books from either of the Testaments. You don't know which one is easier or harder, so your pick can hurt you or help you depending on how familiar you are. CHOOSE AT YOUR OWN RISK. Each quiz is 2 minutes.

Well, you definitely made the problem much harder than it had to be.  I knew that a cubit was about a foot and a half, but my problem was that I multiplied the two numbers, even though I knew the correct operation was division.  I was telling myself that 300/1.5 was 450, but in fact it was 200.  When I opened the answers, I knew that I had obviously made a mistake, and it threw me off.  I kind of had a brain fart and then realized I had multiplied instead of divided.  XD  Half that time was my brain fart moment from being thrown off guard.  LOL

I don't have my bible books memorized, but I think I know the order pretty well.   I tried one and I think I got it right.  Could I try the other one just for fun, or would it mess your quiz up?

I also forgot to say that I was this close in subtracting 60 points from Singelli's overall score for being all technical on me, but after much prayer, I decided to forgive her on that, and to continue to love her in Christian love, despite her putdowns.

Ummm, I would say no, cuz it would take more time for me to figure out which one did you do first.

I know I have them all right, but I'm thinking I should've done the other quiz instead. It would've been faster. I had the books of the Bible burned into my head when I did Bible drill when I was younger.

I'm glad you allowed both to be chosen because I'm much more familiar with the books of the New Testament than the books of the Old. I'm not quite sure if I got every one of them right, but I most certainly knew where most of them were in respect to one another.

NOTICE

Day 9's question will be a little delayed. Possibly till 1:30 am EST. "Why?" You ask? Because I haven't thought about the question yet as well as the witty phrases that go along with it, silly. What? You think this comes natural to me? Coming up with creative questions is hard work!!!!

......plus, I have work till 11 pm tonight. So maybe while I'm moving tiles, I might come up with a question and when I come back I'll get it up as soon as possible.

Day 8 has ended, and it was very interesting. Out of 5 participants, only 1 by the name of Surgiac did the Old Testament quiz. Very interesting.

Here are the answers:
OT: 1 Ruth, 2 Nehemiah, 3 Songs of Solomon, 4 Ezekiel, 5 Jonah, 6 Nahum
NT: 1 Luke, 2 Galatians, 3 Colossians, 4 Philemon, 5 James, 6 Jude

Current Standings:
Surgiac : 545 (+106)
Light Knight : 495 (+105)
Singelli : 306 (+63)
pray75 : 279 (+92)
Eva-Janova_: 191 (0)
mrfe : 180 (+102)
Hoochman_: 131 (0)
Kathrine May Thomson_: 90 (0)
Eirinn_: 49 (0)
Pokefreak219_: -55 (0)

Pray took over 4th place and is right at the heels of Singelli, but can anyone -ANYONE- stop Surgiac's winning streak?

Ready for a tough one?

9. The era of the Divided Kingdoms in Israel was a mess. The nations were mostly not following God and they were threatened by outside nations. The Kingdom of Israel fell with a record of no kings that were considered Good. As for Judah, there were 8 kings that were considered by both the descriptions in the Bible and analysis by scholars as kings who were in different levels of obedience to God and were considered "Good" kings. Today, we'll see you distinguishing the "good" kings from the "bad kings."

After you click start, you will see a list of 12 kings from the Kingdom of Judah. 6 of the names are among the "Good" king, while the rest were bad kings. Checkmark all the good kings and gain 10 points for every correct choice and lose 10 points for every incorrect choice. You have one minute to complete and time remaining will be bonus points. You ready? GO!

I didn't know the answers at all, I shouldn't have answered the question, but I did it anyways, and I'm afraid I just butchered my score BAD. It most certainly was not pretty, and I don't know why I didn't just let this one slide. Drat.

I do not know how you keep track of scores... but if you can see what users took your quiz, "thing1" was not available, so I am "DCM7734".

It did not tell me my score... I guess you keep track of that my having records... but I did have 31 seconds left. It's been a long time since I touched a bible. :/ I guess since I am just coming in, can I take days 1-8 for half credit? I am a man of my word... I will not look at, nor have I already, looked at the answers you have already talked about... knowing what I know now (a lot less than what I used to know), I will probably end up in the negatives, but still... permission requested, if the other users have no issues since I am just coming into this.

thing1 : unfortunately, I can't do that. The reason is that other people who missed certain days of the competition don't get a chance to take those either. Some people intentionally not answer certain questions if they really don't think they can answer them, and it benefits them. Also, the past questions have been deleted because of the website I'm using. It has a 3 quiz limit.

It's still early in the month, so if you do well on the next couple of quizzes, you can catch up.

Edit: Man, typing on my ITouch is really ruining my spelling on these posts.

I bombed this question so badly. I know I got some of them right but I took forever answering.

People might have noticed that I haven't passed out all the Viz for a while. I will get that organized tonight.

play4fun : I wasn't really concerned about it. I just enjoy the questions.
