Hi everyone! I'm Takioshi and today, I'm here to bring you this walkthrough of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past! Sadly though, this will not be a 100% Item collection guide as well as I have yet to find all the heart pieces and will just mainly be going off of memory. Anyway, with that said, let's go save the world! Also, this walkthrough will be Table of contents A1 Story A2 Controls A3 Walkthrough A4 Enemies A5 Items A6 Bugs/Glitches A1 The Story of how it began "Long ago, in the beautiful kingdom of Hyrule surrounded by mountains and forests...legends told of an omnipotent and omniscient Golden Power that resided in a hidden land. Many people aggressively sought to enter the hidden Golden Land...But no one ever returned. One day evil power began to flow from the Golden Land...So the king commanded seven wise men to seal the gate to the Land of the Golden Power. That seal should have remained for all time... ... ...But, when these events were obscured by the mists of time and became legend...A mysterious wizard known as Argahnim came to Hyrule to release the seal. He eliminated the good King of Hyrule...Through evil magic, he began to make descendents of the seven wise men vanish, one after another. And the time of destiny for Princess Zelda is drawing near." A2 The Controls on how to play the game Control Pad: Use the control pad to move your character around. Hold it down near fences to easily navigate pits, though at times, this will not work X button: Hitting the X button will allow you to view the map. If in the overworld, you will be able to see where you are and where your next objective is. If used in a dungeon, you will be able to view the entire layout of the dungeon (Once you've gotten the map that is) A button: When near pots or bushes, pressing A will allow you to pick them up. Press them again to throw them. Throw them at enemies to deal more damage. Once you obtain the Pegasus Boots, you will be able to dash with them by holding down the A button B button: Pressing B will allow you to swing your sword. Hold down B to hold your sword in place and charge it up for a whirlwind attack. Release B to let loose the attack. Once you've gotten a better sword, if you have full heart containers, you will be able to let loose a beam attack every time you swing the sword Y: This allows you to use the current item you have equipped. Careful though, items like the lantern, fire rod, ice rod and the magic medallions will cost magic power in order to use them Start: Hitting this will allow you to view your entire inventory. There you can A3 Ye Old Walkthrough Goin to save Zelda! Once you've named your character and started, you will start in your bed, and be greeted by a message from Zelda. Once you've gone through the message, Link will snap awake and your uncle will tell him that he is going out and for Link not to leave the house. Gee, does he really think we'll listen to him? Nah, I don't think so, so now, hit either button on the D-Pad and Link will jump out of bed. Open the chest in your house and get the lantern. Now leave. Gee, that rains coming down pretty heavy, ain't it? Anyway, don't be scared of the thunder storm, it won't damage you. There's nowhere you can go at the moment except north towards the castle. Once you reach the castle, just hang around and you'll get another message from Zelda saying that there's a secret passage in the castle garden that will lead to the castle courtyard. In other words, head east and then north (or just follow the stone path east). See that strange bush in the center of the stone path? That's the secret entrance Zelda was talking about. Fall in it! Once you land, you'll land in a puddle of water. Head west and.....OH NO! UNCLE!? It seems he was going to rescue Zelda but can't go any further, instead he gives you his sword and shield and tells you to go on. Don't worry, he's not dead. Practice with the sword to get a good control of it. Now head through the door. There are 2 guards in here, dispose of them with your sword. Head east and lift up the pots to get your first set of magic jars. These fill your magic meter so your lantern can be used. Open the chest. If you didn't get the lantern in your house, it will be here, otherwise, you'll get 5 ruppies. Now leave through the door by heading west and then up the stairs. Geeze, won't this rain ever go away? Anyway, there a 3 guards in this area. Cut the bushes right and front of you or pick em up. It don't matter. Anyway, dispatch of the guards if you want to and head through the castle door to the north of the stone path. Alright, once inside the castle, you have 3 ways you can go. You can either go left, right or straight ahead. You want to head north a little later so head either east or west. It doesn't matter which way to take, though the left door way seems to be an easier path....anyway, head through the doors until you come to a staircase in the northern wall. Head down into the dungeons Once you head down, you'll have to kill a blue soldier because he has a key on him. Next open the chest for the castle map. Now head south through the locked door. Be extremely careful in this area because there are a lot of pits. Anyway, head down the stairs and knock the blue soldier into the pit to see him plummet to his doom. Head south and follow the path killing the soldiers as you go. Keep going until you see 2 green soldiers and a stone-like fence. Dispatch of the soldiers if you want or sneak by, but either way, you need to make your way to the door in the north-west corner of the room. Once you head in, dispatch of the green soldier. This will open the eastern door. Head in and take out the blue soldier. Another key! Open the chest and Hey! A Boomerang! This will come in handy! Now head back west and up the stairs, through the locked door. Head down the staircase to come to another staircase. Take that one down as well. Be ready for the miniboss of this castle. Take out the green soldier and head into the cell and take a pot. This will make the fight a lot easier as 2 pots kill this guy. Head east to meet...... The Mace Soldier. This guy will swing his mace around in a wide circle so be careful. Anyway, dispatch of the mace man and take the Big Key he drops and.....Look! It's Princess Zelda! Open her cell and talk with her. She'll tell you whats going on. Tell her that you understand and she'll say that you need to get to the Sanctuary. Open her chest for another 5 ruppies. Edit: I'll eventually get around to finishing this later when I'm not very busy. Until then, try to work things out on your own Table of contents A1 Story A2 Controls A3 Walkthrough A4 Enemies A5 Items A6 Bugs/Glitches A1 The Story of how it began "Long ago, in the beautiful kingdom of Hyrule surrounded by mountains and forests...legends told of an omnipotent and omniscient Golden Power that resided in a hidden land. Gho5t_17 : I'm glad to hear that you're liking my walkthrough! Most of the info will be correct as I have played through the game from Start to Finish at least 50 times so I have a pretty good memory on what to do, the only thing I can't remember are the last set of heart pieces |
