I swim a lot so I have good practice at holding my breath.  I havn't tried it before but when I was in the water I think I was under for may 1 and a half to maybe two minutes.  I'm not quite sure.  I'm sure there are people who could hold their breath longer.

I can hold my breath for 42 seconds I couldn't believe it I though I would only last like 20 seconds. I think people think that this amount of seconds is little because if you want to dive without an oxygen tank like in competitions you might not be able to find what you are looking for and someone else would find it before you. Though I  think that they are just crazy people who keep holding they're breaths and can do it for a long time because they keep doing it when they are bored.

I've never been able to hold my breath for more than about 40-ish seconds because if I hold my breath too long, I get huge chest cramps that I can't stand for more than 5 seconds and I have to take deep, heavy breaths for a few more seconds and then the cramp goes away.
