Would it be okay for someone to make a template for newbies to copy and paste to use for their own introduction threads? Just make a few easy to answer questions for those who don't know how to introduce themselves or don't know what to say. None of the questions in the template would ask for any kind of personal information such as name, age or location.

I wonder if there would be a way for a "New Thread" in the newbie forum to automatically load the template for the newbie thread. That would make it a lot easier to get the threads being used properly.

It would have to read forum name, post number, and level. you could also include something similar in a (help me) type menu. where the menu would scan the archives for the problem to see if it has already been talked about and when it turns up a negative it gives the positive on posting on whatever it is they need help with.


I would also like to see a post delete button, where only the writer may delete their own writing or a mod.

omega_rohan : well, even forum name and powerlevel would work since only a newbie posting a new thread in the newbie forum would need to qualify. Probably pretty easy actually . All that would be left would be to put together a good template to get info about new members.

There is an edit feature that allows users to remove the text of a post without removing the entry completely from the database without leaving gaps. I realize being able to delete would be easier for users but not for David.
