I definitely have many favorite theme's from the Mario Kart games. Like Koopa Troopa beach from Mario Kart 64, Rainbow Road from Mario Kart Double Dash and Dolphin Shoals from Mario Kart 8. 

But my favorite theme is from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. When Baby Mario get's the invincibility and become's a Powerful Infant ( name of the theme). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gLuc04Wa3c

I just know that nintendo DOES know, if anything, to make a theatrical number, from a simple romp-in-the-park music, to all the way to MY FAVE, the deep LET'S DO THIS boss music. Nintendo does do one thing right, That's their music numbers. That and pokemon of course.

Super Mario Brothers 1 world 1-2 was my favorite theme song. It fit perfectly for an underground song. Kind of a creepy chase theme as the time limit reached under a minute. And it kept my heart racing as I'd have to jump on the falling moving platforms.

Super Mario Sunshine: Delphino Square theme was probably one of my favorite themes. 

But then again, you have to look at mario kart games, in which I don't think theres a contest. The Bowser's Castle Theme from Mario Kart 8 is one of my favorite Video Game themes ever, and my favorite Mario one by far.

My favorite music in any Mario game would have to the original tune from Super Mario Bros 1. It's such an iconic track it's always what comes to mind when I think of anything Mario. Whoever composed that 8 bit track was a master of their craft.
