I prefer to have a Grotle, Charizard, some fully evolved giant ghost type, a fully evolved Water... preferably Blastroise, another grass type, and then a fully evolved fighting / normal type, so I can cover most bases, strengths, and weaknesses. Make sure they all have high levels, and that you have lots of revives, mega potions, berries, and Full Restores... that is how I did it in Emerald. Which game are you doing exactly?

Using your current team you don't really have anything to use against the chapion who uses water types. So you should teach a couple of your pokemon an electric move or even better a grass move. Or you could catch a completely different pokemon.
