YAY POWAR STAR! 8D!! *dances a happy jig*

...'Kay I'm done. =3 Also, don't worry about whether you have suggestions or not; you don't even need to be good at drawing to have one. *nod nod* I'll also mention right now that I have a habit of making little excerpts for some of my sketches/doodles and vice-versa. The one I wanted to take a picture of (turns out the camera bricked and we'll have to buy a new one, oh boy), has one that goes with it. The silly doodle of super-high Dai also had an excerpt that went with him, but that one was long-winded and he was silly enough without. Since I can't get a shot of my still incomplete charcoal work *sad face* I'll instead see about digging up probably one of my most recent scanned and finished sketches that I have.

...Hilariously, that one will also have a little written excerpt to go with it, and I promise it's not because I like to whore out my writing. It's just easier than throwing out five pages of context-ramble. ...Well, okay, he's not quite done, I'm still cleaning him up, but yeah, that's why there are those funny white spots in his hair. ._.;

Okay, one bit of context before I go quoting anything, this man, Ghydeias, is the most deadpan individual ever. Most people would be terrified to see him make this face at them. D:

The faded sienna of short, disheveled hair soon reached clarity, closely followed by the sun-kissed complexion of strong, scruffy features. Reaching barely two paces away, the trotting came to an effortless halt, and the lads had to lift their heads in order to see the considerably taller man’s middle-aged face. A long pause crept over them, hesitation, as a notched ear cocked back, dark brows furrowed, and mismatched eyes studied each closely.

It was easy to mistake Iaeruki and Dainiae as the other, they were nearly identical, and when they both wore the same attire, not even the differing color schemes of their clothing made identifying them any easier. Though Dainiae had a much thinner build—one might go so far as to say emaciated—it was well hidden under the loose embrace of his suit and long-skirted shirt jacket, and he carried the same face, albeit with exhausted shadows lying perpetually beneath his eyes.

Gold flashed sharply above soft royal blue, turning steely alongside abysmal teal within the breath, and a strong hand lashed out, gripping tightly into Iaeruki’s collar, before yanking him off his feet, dragging him to face with the elder man as Dainiae instinctively shuffled back. His lip curled back on one side, his eyes narrowed, and his brows knitted together, twisting his visage into a mask of contempt as a low rasp caressed the air between them. “You really have been defying your character of late. I don’t know whether to commend you for being here, or despise you for finding the balls to show up,” he growled, baring clenched teeth.

“I hope you’re damned proud of yourself,” he added odiously, his piercing glare reaching deep through Iaeruki’s eyes, boring even into his core.

The lad in question hung limp, stupefied, terror writ boldly into his wide-eyed countenance. The taller man’s stare was humbling, perhaps even belittling; it was a look Iaeruki only ever saw of the old—the fierce, scornful glare learned through generations of experience. He never could think well under it, and when he finally found words he felt safe enough to speak, a glance over the royal guard’s shoulder snatched away their existence in the same fleeting moment they had surfaced into his consciousness.

(Yay, I remembered the HTML code! 8D) As noted earlier, I'm not quite finished cleaning him up. When he's done, he'll have some formal outlining and some pretty colors, and hopefully his scruff will look a bit better. ._. It's supposed to stop where it does, but man, when your art style starts jumping into realism in the randomest places, scruff like that is a giant pain in the ass. SHAVE, GHYDEIAS. SHAVE, DAMMIT. I DON'T CARE IF IT NEVER GROWS ANY LONGER! D8< ...Also, the structure of his head keeps looking funny to me, and I don't know why. >_o

EDIT: Okay, so I realize that the excerpt needed more to it for the man's description to be slightly more understandable. ._. This is where the way I write gets cumbersome.

you should make a thread in stories and simulation, cause the couple of pieces you put in here are good and i'm interested in reading more

and as for the drawing i think the problem may be the neck cause it looks like it's not bending enough to accommodate the angle of the head and the eyes look just an itsy-bit too close together, also the scruff looks great i don't really see a problem with it

hope it helps

I do have one bit in there so far. I think it has nine views. XD I can post what I have of the piece that excerpt came from. I'm stuck on it, but sometimes getting opinions on what I have already and what I plan on doing can help boot my bum back into gear to finish getting it done.

Ghydeias' eyelashes might be fooling you a little. Not sure; could also be the angle of his head, but I'm pretty sure there's actually a little more space between his eyes than the width of the one closest to us. Hilariously, I drew his neck using a reference photo of myself with my head at the same angle. ...I have big neck tendons. ._.

XD Doesn't it look weird anyway? His adam's apple makes it look friggin' whacked. And all I did was pronounce it more from mine. ._.;

I have two bits up now; Seulva'den Secht'olath, the one that's closest to the top, and then Memoir Norlocht, which you might have to scroll a little for. Memoir Norlocht is much shorter.

Yup. 8D I have a boy throat. Sometime I'll have to find me a picture with it, or make one. Okay, so I found a couple, since I must have not actually saved the picture I used as a reference for Ghydeias. Here are a few examples of my boy throat:
Numbah one, taken with my webcam last summer.
Numbah two, taken longer ago, dunno how long, though, my hand didn't like being steady while pushing the button. D:
Numbah three, taken with my phone and while the morning light was casting some very nice shadows that accent it nicely.

Yes, I saw. n_n I'll probably explain away about the excerpt and surrounding piece in there, so's I don't muck this up.

And now, for something I doodled TODAY, YAY! 8D I actually did it about five or six hours ago. XD

It's a bat-lady! 8D Scanned with an all-in-one machine because my scanner was being a butt, hence the pixellation that's annoying me to death, oh my god. DX I left the incomplete pair of eyes of hers in there just to show how big they are. ._. They're bloody huge, they are.

that doesn't seem like a boy's throat to me, considering mine looks like i swallowed an avocado pit
i like the way you draw eyes, cause they actually convey emotion (something i'm kinda working on)
and i know what you mean about those all-in-one machines, that's the kind of scanner i bought and i can't get the damn thing to scan to pc

Thanks. :3 I doodled little things from the time I was small. I didn't actually start with the anime style until I was in middle school; then I was only doing copy-work, but after a year I started branching off into my own stuff borrowing style-techs from published artists.

For awhile my adam's apple was bigger than my brother's. <.<; Kinda awkward when girls' adam's apples apparently aren't supposed to stick out at all. Unfortunately, the one that does it best justice among those pictures is the one that's stupidly blurry. I'm just boyish in general, so I have a tendency to refer to a number of my features as boy/man features. Like my shoulders. I have boy shoulders. I also have a boy chin. I've got muh dad's nose, too. =D

Thanks. n_n I'm not entirely sure how I do that just yet. I just kinda give them a focal point, give the iris some muscular detail, and then shade a little for depth.

With the all-in-one machine, I think the main reason I got mine to work was that I was running it through a scanning program in Linux. ._. On the network. All I needed was to have the OS recognize the machine on the network and it could make it its b****, and it did precisely that. Or, maybe, it's because it's an HP. Or both. Don't know. I just know mine actually works for me, but the scanning quality bugs the bejeezus out of me.

For some reason I just can't draw them together. I just can't do it.

Hunh. Maybe Linux makes mine its b**** or something. =/ I've noticed that it does cooperate best when I'm making it print from this desktop.
