Depends if I'm in a rush or what. Usually I do, but if I want to carry on in a rush, I skip it.

I always read the prologue. It's a part of the story, and I'd feel like I wasn't reading the whole thing if I didn't.

I almost always read the prologue.  I mean, while it's true that a prologue isn't meant to be necessary for understanding the novel, it's still a very crucial aspect.  In most cases, the prologue really allows you to have a deeper knowledge of the characters partaking in the rest of the story.  I get the sense that I can't completely understand the characters without the little tidbit the author felt necessary to mark as 'prologue'.

I ALWAYS read the prologue because it's part of the story and because it usually contains background information if it's a part of a long series such as Warriors.

I always read the prologue, though the last time I did, it was so long and boring that it took me a week to finish it. lol Still, I find it is usually a useful, if not important part of a story. This boring one I mentioned proved to be useful in understanding the book, which, by the way, is pretty good so far.

Yeah, I read the prologue too. If I can't, I don't read the book yet because I like to be immersed into the story. It makes it so much better. But some people don't really care and just skip it, like you stated. I really don't find a lot of people that read prologues. But I am glad you and everyone here read the prologues.

I might read it, depending on if I really like the book or not.

Depends on who is writing the book.
Normally? No. I Read every bit of information that a book has. I buy my books and I want to know what I'm endorsing. I know it sounds odd to have that kind of view point, but I like the Idea that I'm investing my money when I buy a book. I want the writer to continue his craft if he is good. I like to think we all have that ability when we buy any book, or record, or whatever. We are deciding what has value by exchanging hard earned money. That mere act still has value even with the invention of the internet and stuff that is practically available to anyone who buys a computer and affords internet services. Its the old fashioned way of doing business. It makes a statement by itself. No need for a bunch of views or hits on-line with hard earned cash. I may be out dated or sound silly, but its proven to make allot of my life very simple and easy. I like? I buy. I don't like? I don't buy. (Don't tell this secret to fans of silly stuff.) Back to the Prologue thing. With writers I love, I can never get enough. They can be typing the "Phone-book" and make it interesting. That is power with words I can never imagine to have. I say enjoy the extras. This isn't a home made pie that's going to make you do a workout later if you indulge. Its a reading experience. Enjoy.
That's my take on it.
For the bad writers?
Especially read the Prologue.
If you cant get past that? Return the book, and get your money back.
Good Luck To All.
I'm done. Stick a fork in me.
Peace.
