I like them with subtitles, when it in English it never matches the character's tone and how they were meant to be heard. Only in a few does English sound within reason.

I like having subtitles more than English. I like to hear the Japanese version because it sounds better anyway. Most of the time, I dislike the English actors voice overs, doesn't seem to fit in versus the Japanese.

I usually prefer watching anime with subtitles. I like to read, so I don't mind having to read it. I also prefer to hear the original language. But I don't mind watching dubbed anime at all.

I prefer watching anime that's English dubbed. However, if a series isn't available in English, I will watch the subtitled version. The reason I like dubbed anime better is because sometimes it's hard to keep up with both reading the subtitles and watching what's going on.

It depends, if the anime is nostalgic to me, or I can find a version in English, I'll listen to it in English unless the voices are absolutely terrible.
If I can't find the English version or if the English version sounds terrible, I'm perfectly willing to watched a subbed version.
Most anime I end up watching in English.

Although the reading can be bothersome, I think it's better to have the Original speech over the English dubbed speech. The flow of a show can be ruined by the English dub, and the translation can be a little more off to make the English dub work.

Either way, anime rocks. I know they are popular and may not be the fan favorite for hardcore anime fans, but FMA, FMA Brotherhood, and Death Note are my favorites.

Gamin'Gal: I completely agree with you, some anime can be nostalgic to me but I don't watch TV shows that much. Some of them have god awful voices and make me dislike them but it really depends on what I watch. I usually have subtitles no matter what I would be watching. Like I said before it really depends on if you like the TV show or don't like the TV show.

It depends on the Anime for me because most of the times I don't mind reading subtitles but I rather watch the English version for two reasons one the English version usually is more enjoyable because I don't like reading subs much two if the Anime's dub actors aren't horrible

I don't mind, either, but it depends on the anime. Some anime you actually get a better experience watching the dubbed version (well at least, my friends who are into Hetalia claim this for the accents) and some the Japanese voices sound better and seem to fit the characters better. Either way though, I can enjoy an anime just fine, as long as there isn't a voice that just seems to rub me the wrong way (which there doesn't seem to be lately, actually).

I want it to be in English so I can actually understand what they are saying for once, lol..

I hate subtitles. That barely doesn't do anything and they still speak in a different language.

I am hoping to learn a new language soon, by the way.

Subs fill out the story better, in my opinion. Most of the time, I see that dubs have really poor emotion with their voices, so the mood for most anime is completely ruined. Every once in a while, some good dubs pop up, but when they do, American sensors take out originality from the manner of speech (Hidan, anyone?) Overall, I feel that subs give out a more complete experience. In terms of the action, I read through the first time to make sure I know what their talking about, and if I couldn't see the action enough (such as in Attack on Titan) I would go back and just watch the animation, all in subbed.

I don't care either way, but after watching the anime, I prefer whatever I originally watched it in, as those voices are the ones that seem to fit the characters best to me, because I'm used to them.

I prefer English, but I'm honestly fine with either. Most anime I wanted to watch in only available with subtitles. So I got used to them.

I prefer English dubbed Anime. I used to watch anime with only subtitles until a friend showed me English dubbed. I haven't turned back since. If necessary, I could watch with subtitles, which I've had to do recently with one called Monster.

Actually, I slightly prefer the dubbed versions. I don't know, I mean I don't mind the reading at all, but... I just like to hear the shows I like in English. It still depends on the anime, though. I only watch Pokemon XY anime episodes in Japanese because they haven't been dubbed yet . Anyway, I greatly preferred Avatar: The Last Airbender in English.
