Howdy to all my Video Game playing friends and welcome to my post. First off I want to explain this. For the past years we have all seen video games that have really hit the top when it comes to it. Lets face it, video games today are great!

But...there are some video games that we are playing that have just been ran so far into the ground that it is not even close to being funny. For example, the Mario Party series. Seriously they got like 11 of them now and people say that they are should just step back from them.

Hey, the Mario sports series is kinda ran into the ground as well. Granted its still fun but geez enough is enough don't you know?

Well what do all of you think? In my eyes, my fellow gamers should have a expert opinion on this.

3D Metroid games!!!!

I was the biggest Metroid fan as a kid growing up with the original NES one and then Super Metroid came out and for the longest time of my life it was the greatest game to ever exist.. (for its time , Super Metroid is easily one of the best games of all time.)

Then N64 comes out and as also a huge Zelda fan I get this gem called Ocarina of Time.. But I'm still waiting patiently for my new Metroid n64 game!!   Nope guess not...

So finally after how many years without a new Metroid game , we get Metroid Prime... I played probably 1-3 hours total of Metroid Prime, and I haven't played any new Metroid games since. I know the Metroid Prime series gets good reviews, but I hate it. Maybe I just can't accept change , but give me a NEW 2D SIDESCROLLER METROID... not on a handheld. Plus I noticed in a lot of newer Metroid games, the actual creatures , Metroids , have been all but absent from the games... Why even call the games Metroid if that's the case, just start calling them Samus Prime or something.

Sorry for my rant or to anyone who enjoys the gamecube and newer metroid games but from an old time Metroid fan , Nintendo sure did ruin the series.

I thought we had a topic like this already... Either way, games being run into the ground? There are too many Sonic games. I prefer Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Not all these crappy ones they have today.

LegolasJJH : There's a reason why the games aren't sidescrolling anymore, the tech for a shooter was perfect at the time and Metroid is a game of sci-fi elements, so the two mix like bread and butter. Why do you have a problem with the 2D sidescrollers for the handhelds? They are reminiscent of the old Metroid games and are controlled perfectly. You said that you were a Zelda fan in your post and the new games aren't sidescrollers like Link to the Past or the original Zelda for the NES, would that mean you hate Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess for not being a sidescrolelr? Nintendo hardly ruined the series, they put it into a brilliant and innovative concept along with putting in the right direction.

I really can't stand the metroid series now either. The problem is that with the new metroid games, Nintendo seems to be leaning more towards a first person shooter type game, which is totally NOT Nintendo's forte. Not to mention we have about 1000 FPS games on the shelves now. Granted, metroid does certainly offer elements that are not usually in FPS games, but it doesn't get away from the fact that at heart that's all it is.

I'm probably alone in this one, but i think Zelda is going downhill as well. I was not a fan of Twilight Princess and I didn't even have the motivation to finish Skyward Sword.

Now that I think of it I kinda hated Mario Galaxy too, maybe Nintendos just lost it's charm.

CoD,Not because they're bad games but they're the same game they don't do much for the FPS genre and honestly...the generic

I have said this before, and I have no problem saying it again. Pretty much every sports game out there! I do not get it. Every year, they come out with a new NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, etc. Sure, they add a few little bits and tweaks here and there and they update the players. But in the end, it is still the same old football, baseball, basketball, etc. I get having one of them or even getting one every 5 years or something. But so many people will desperately wait for the next one to come out EVERY YEAR. They spend $60 on the same game every stinking year. News flash: They aren't going to change the way the sport is played. Except for for updated players, you are playing the SAME game you bought last year, and the year before that, and the year before that........ Can anyone tell that I don't get it?
