Nightmare on Evergreen street.

Yes... Once again... I'm reviewing a Simpsons game. Also, Guess what? It has Bart Simpson as the Main Character! (Surprised? Not, I bet) Well, the main character doesn't matter much, what does it matter, is the quality of the game... Which is not very high. But, It's acceptable. A good thing: It's quite Different from the rest of the Simpson games that have been made for other systems (However, the thing that doesn't change is the Difficulty, of course) the today's game is... Bart's Nightmare, for the Sega Genesis/Megadrive and the SNES. Wanna see how this game was? Then, Sit there and read!

Story: It appears to be that Bart it's decided to get (at least one time) a good grade... So, he tries to do his homework as best he can. However, it appears to be that is a LOT of homework... The day advances, but Bart still is working on it, with no breaks. Soon, the night falls... It's bed time, and the rest of the Simpson family is already on bed... Excepting Bart. After various hours, he finally is beaten by the sleep. Then, he starts dreaming: He dreams that his homework flies away through the Window... And that he goes after it. Here's where the game start, we must help him to retrieve all the lost papers, so, he can finish with his homework. (How's that possible, Eddy? Don't ask to me, just keep reading!) (7/10)

Graphics: Pretty good, as you remember, in the NES games, Bart used to look kinda weird... Well, that's over. On this game, he looks similar to what we see on the show, along with the other characters that appear on it. They are very detailed, and easy to recognize... Animations are good too... Nothing bad about them. (8/10)

Sound: It's good... Every segment of the game has it's own music (excepting by the credits, that uses the music of the title screen) Nothing
annoying about it. SFX is simple, but it fits with the situations of the game. (8/10)

Addictiveness: Let's talk with sincerity... This game it's not addictive, even having a good amount of variety on it... All because of what? Of
course... Because of the difficulty. (5/10)

Depth: Here's how you play: Before anything, you start on the "Windy World" (named like that because of the trees and bushes around the street shaking his leafs) Here, you're attacked by various enemies, luckily. You have some weapons: Watermelon seeds, Bubblegum (It's useful against the old ladies), and the Soda can (destroys all the enemies on screen). Under all that, there's a "Z" meter... Which descends when you get damage... If you run out of Z's, the game is Over. After some time, one of the pages of the homework appears on screen, Bart must jump over it, if he does that... He has to choice between two Doors of different color. Both leads to a different mini game... These mini games are: Bartman, Itchy and Scratchy, Indiana Bart, Bartzilla and Germ Killer. If you win the Mini game, you'll get the page (some games have 2 stages, so, you have to get to papers on those) as more pages we get, Better will be the grade... If you lose or win the game. It will give you a grade depending of how many pages you got... (or how much it take you to end it.) (8/10)

Difficulty: Very high as usual... I don't know why. But acclaim used to make Simpsons games really harder. However, only with a lot of practice we can handle this title. (really, with a LOT of practice.) (9/10)

Final Rating: 6.8

A good game, it could have been better if they added more mini games, or if it wasn't very hard... However, if you can see through all this, you'll discover a not-so-good game. But that still deserves a chance... Just try it and you will see.

Wow, I did not know you did game reviews, Ed Boy. And this is not half bad. I am seeing so many different styles of reviews these days. But honestly... the game is based on getting Bart's homework back? I am sorry, but that is lamer than some of these 5 dollar Wii games that you can get at the Dollar Store. Needless to say, I will probably play E.T. before I play this.

But not a bad review, Ed Boy.

thing1 : HEY, THAT'S MY REVIEW CATCHPHRASE.

Well, Yes and no... Bart just sleeps before finishing the homework, and then, he dreams that it gets lost... So, he goes after it.

Resuming: Bart couldn't finish his homework, but, by retrieving some of the papers we can help him to finish it... Even considering that the "lost papers" plot is only a dream. (Perhaps the game has no a concrete ending... And we make the same by getting a determined amount of papers)

In fact, yes... You must help him to get it back.
