I was just watching a documentary on Netflix called "Paul Really is Dead: The Last Testament of George Harrison." And obviously it is about The Beatles, but it is mainly about Paul McCartney being dead. In 1966 it was rumored that Paul and John Lennon got into an argument at Abbey Road Studios because Paul wanted to make their newer songs more catchy while John wanted to actually tell people things with his music. Paul angry and distraught leaves the studio in the middle of the rain and goes driving away in his Ashton Martin, he spots a woman hitchhiking on the side of the road so he picks her up. Her name is Rita (Lovely Rita), she piles up in his car and right away knows who the driver is. Rita becomes excited, and tries to hug McCartney, but doing so caused him to drive off the side of the road and crash. Paul died as soon as it happened, she left to get help and when she returned the car blew up and Paul's body was a mangled mess almost unreconizable, mainly because he was decapitated and his teeth was knocked out and hair burnt away.
The other three Beatles, still at the studio receive a visitor. He says his name is Maxwell (Maxwell's Sliver Hammer), and he is with the British Intelligence and that he has awful news. After telling the story, he said that he needed the remaining Beatles to come identify the body to make sure that it was Paul McCartney, sure enough it was. Maxwell says an interesting comment while at the scene of the crime, "he looks kind of like a Walrus, doesn't he?" He then took the rest of the Beatles to a secret place and left them wait while he made a few phone calls.
When he came back the plan was finally, Paul was to be replaced by a double. Because if the fans ever found out that Paul was dead it would create mass pandomoneum and a millions of suicides (remember at this time The Beatles were considered to be the best rock band on the face of this planet, so if anything were to happen to any of them it would have been earth shattering). A contest was held, a Paul look a like contest, and a winner was chosen William Campbell (Billy, for short). He underwent plastic surgery, and the rest of the remaining Beatles, were told to keep quiet or Maxwell threatened, "I can easily have a car accident set up...or a deranged fan to kill the lot of you." (Mark David Chapman).
There were many clues on the albums after this incident, and in lyrics and even backmasked! However, what I don't understand is that Paul died in '66, and the documentary says that the first album recorded with the fake Paul or Faul (as John called him, False Paul he shortened it to Faul just in case someone over heard him) was Rubber Soul, and it contains the first few death clues...however, we own Rubber Soul and it was released in 1965, how in the world did they know?! That is what boggles my mind about the whole thing! Other than that the rest of it makes sense.
Anyways, the point in all of this is to see other peoples opinion on the matter. What does everyone think? Any possible explanations about the first few death clues? Or do you believe the conspiracy? I am just curious.
