Greetings PokeFans!

I am starting this thread as a general shout out to all my adult gamers out there who enjoy Pokémon like I do! It's tough liking something that is sooo marketed towards a younger audience in the states but heck, I wanted to throw myself out there.

I have often pondered the possibilities of a darker Pokémon story arc involving more mature main characters. I'm not saying anything explicit but something similar to how dark Demon's Souls & Dark Souls are. A really deep drama filled story!

Anyway, sorry for rambling but I just wanted to throw some thoughts out there to the community! Have a great day!

While I'm certainly no wise old senior, I'd say I'm older than the target audience at least, at a modest 15 years of age. I love those little Pocket Monsters and have for a very long time.

As for a darker game.... With Pokemon's primary audience being children, they want to appeal to as many fans as possible, and releasing a game that only pleases a minority of adults is counterproductive and cuts off the kids from the franchise. I'm sure you could find some mighty fine hacks out there with great stories, but GameFreak will not be making anything like that.

I just feel like the games could use more dramatization and more story depth instead of the capture/collect badges formula.  My greatest wish above all would be to have a remake of Pokémon snap and have it an open-world with living environments and you go out on foot with your camera and photograph Pokémon in their natural habitats. I honestly thought that this is what awaited us in Pokémon Snap but instead we got this theme park type game.

Any age can play Pokemon games they can still be a kid in heart.

Pokémon for all ages indeed. I remember when Pokémon Red first came out. I am 25 years old now and still watch the cartoons at times and also play the games when I get the chance to in my life.  So when a friend tries telling me Pokémon is for younger audiences, I sort of laugh because I know many people online who still play Pokémon to this day and are my age and younger and older.

I may not be that old being 16 but I love Pokémon. I'm a pokemaniac! I am basically a walking pokedex for the games anyway. Now I don't claim to know everything about Pokémon, but I still know alot. I kind of agree with Blinkstrike. I would love a more in depth story. It does get kind of boring after the first run through. I really liked the Pokémon Coliseum and XD versions though. And also the Pokepark games for the wii were fun. Pokémon Ranger is cool as well. To me the spin offs are better because the story lines are bigger. So yeah somebody whether it be Game Freak or some random fan of Pokémon, really needs to send in a better story. I think something like playing as a member of one of the several bad guy teams ( Team Rocket, Team Magma/Aqua, Team Galactic... and so on) would be cool. Sorry if this post is a bit of a run on but... I speak from the heart and that can be pretty lengthy. Gotta Catch'em All Pokémon!!!

Yeah, you'd be better off with hacks. I've been a Pokemon fan for a very long time, and I think the Darkest or most evil game that Gamefreak has released would be either Colosseum or XD: Gale of Darkness for several reasons:
1. Involves Kidnapping and whatnot
2. Snag machines = No Gym Leaders
3. The antagonists close the heart of the pokemon and try to use them as tools sorta like Team Rocket but a bit more effective.
